Wasim Jaffer ‘Corrects’ Publication For Belittling Ajinkya Rahane’s Gritty Century, Gets Hailed

Day 2 of the second Test between India and Australia saw skipper Ajinkya Rahane rise up to the occasion and smash a daring century against some of the most dangerous bowlers like Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins.

His innings helped the Men in Blue recover from all the damage that they incurred after the humiliating defeat they faced at the Adelaide Oval during the first Test a week and a half ago.

In the absence of Virat Kohli and losing Indian Test veteran Cheteshwar Pujara for cheap in the first innings, Rahane not only struck to the crease like a maestro but managed to score at a decent rate. His score, at the end of Day 2 was an unbeaten 104 off 200 deliveries.

However, when an online news portal claimed that Rahane’s 12th international Test century came off a series of dropped catches, former Indian batsman and our very own celebrity troll, Wasim Jaffer decided to take matters into his own hands.

He took a screenshot of the portal’s Twitter post sharing a link to the story on Rahane’s century, slashed of the part of the caption which read ‘benefits from dropped catches’ and made it read as it if said ‘Ajinkya Rahane claims 12th Test century as India withstand Australia assault and take control’.

Plain, simple and to the point.

Told you, you taking the cake and the trophy, both!!!

The Ranji Trophy legend has been on a roll when it comes to entertaining the fans of Indian cricket with some cheeky, hilarious content that every member of the country’s cricketing fraternity could relate to.

And sure enough, the correction that Jaffer made to the publication’s tweet also got a lot of positive response:

The greatest of hundreds have come with chances; KP’s century against Aus Ashes 05; Smith in Pune and so on; on tough tracks you need some luck your way.
