For all the R Madhavan fans, today is the day that they can celebrate as his film Maara is now premiering on Amazon Prime Video. Maara is the remake of Malayalam hit Charlie, which was directed by Martin Prakkat. The 2015 film became a big achievement for Dulquer Salmaan’s career as it became a huge hit critically and commercially.

It follows the story of Paaru (Shraddha Srinath) who finds a diary full of sketches in her apartment. Moved by the artwork, she sets out on a journey to track down the artist Maaru (R Madhavan).

Describing the film, R Madhavan said in a statement, "The role of my character has been crafted with foremost importance given to the honesty in the relationships he shares with others. And that trait makes the person as somebody that the audience falls in love with instantly. You can feel him touching lives without actually putting in an effort. To me that was the essence of this guy which got me excited to play him. The film revolves around these relationships and the beauty in sharing experiences. It's a very sweet world to be in."

As the trailer promised that it's going to be a feel-good story, it has lived up to the expectations of the people who have flooded Twitter with positive reactions. People even went on to say that it looks like an original movie despite being a remake.

Just finished watching @dhilip2488 's #Maara.. Got a completely new dimension of the story ! ️ Loved it in its own way.. Maara isn't Charlie and @ActorMadhavan never tried to imitate any scenes of @dulQuer from the original version was very nice to watch..️

Not seen Charlie nor the trailer of maara and I have loved this movie. Perfect watch. @ActorMadhavan looks amazing throughout the movie. @ShraddhaSrinath what a queen 🖤🖤 loved the casting completely. Climax was such a feel good one....
