Akshay Kumar Explained Why Is He Reviving The Villain Inside Him After A Hiatus Of 16 Years

Akshay Kumar, the ‘khiladi’ of Bollywood, is an entertainment packet in himself. He can act in an action movie like it’s no one’s business and make your ribs tickle in a comic caper. However, you haven’t seen him play a negative role in a long time. Actually, in 16 years to be precise! The last time he tapped his inner villain, it was back in the day with ‘Ajnabee’.

However, his upcoming movie with Rajnikanth , titled ‘2.0’ will see him donning the villain hat again. On being asked what took him so long to turn a negative streak for a movie, Akshay explained, “The script, Shankar sir, Rajini sir- the whole combination. And I always wanted to work in South. Heard so much about the professionalism.

It’s great to be a part of this kind of a film. It’s been long since I have done a negative role. I played a negative role long back, in a film called Ajnabee. And that’s why I did it. I choose a role very fast. I just listen to it (script). I don’t have ten people of my company. I just look at it, feel good…good feeling comes, and I choose it. That’s it.”

The movie is slated to release next year.
