The clash between Indian captain Virat Kohli and England all-rounder Ben Stokes just took another exciting turn when on Day 2 of the fourth and final Test of the series, Stokes dismissed him for a duck.

After seven deliveries of going scoreless, the Indian batsman was caught off-guard by Stokes who added some extra bounce to the ball, allowing it to be just close enough to Kohli’s bat for a slight edge before it travelled into the hands of wicket-keeper Ben Foakes behind the stumps.

Unable to put even a single run on the board, Kohli gave a surprised look after his dismissal and walked back to the pavilion without protest as Stokes celebrated with his teammates in the background.

Kohli’s duck-out must feel special for the England all-rounder considering the kind of theatrics which took place on Day 1 of the fourth Test at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium when the two icons of international cricket got in a war of words after Stokes had reportedly abused India pacer Mohammed Siraj following a bouncer.

At the end of Day 1, Siraj shared what led to the confrontation : "Ben Stokes gave me gali (abused me) so I told Virat bhai about that. Virat bhai handled it thereafter.”

On the other hand, Stokes managed the same question with utmost professionalism when he said: "The thing in cricket nowadays is that it becomes a massive talking point when two opponents have a word with each other. People seem, I do not know, not to lose their heads but they think it is all wrong," Stokes told reporters at the press conference after the day's play.

"Look at it from a different way, guys care about what they are doing and what they are representing. Playing against each other, we are competitors and we are not going to back down to anyone, whoever it may be," he added.

And even though the England cricketer played down the verbal spat, his fans were not going to let this one slide so easily.
