In another episode of this happens only in India, the auction of a liquor store in a village in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district that started at around Rs 72 lakh got sold at over Rs500 crores.
Yes, you read that right!
The bidding started at 11 am in the morning and ended way after midnight and it’s shocking but the highest bid was around Rs500 crores. Auctioning of liquor shops is not a new concept and recently, e-auctions have started and around 7000 liquor stores are going under the hammer.

Former state chief minister Vasundhara Raje had earlier abolished the system but now under Ashok Gehlot, the bidding system has restarted again.
For this auction, bidding started at Rs 72 lakh in the morning and bidders kept on bidding high prices for the store that the bidding went onto till midnight and ended around 2 am at night with the highest price quoted at Rs510 crores.

The liquor store was bought by two women belonging to the same family and one of them is Kiran Kanwar. The news has left many people astonished and even the officials from the Excise department who had never expected the bid to go up this high.
