BATS! It has been one of the most sensitive topics across the globe for the period of almost one and a half years and has pretty much changed the way we used to lead our lives.

Now, you can no longer meet, greet, hug, take a train or bus ride, or pretty much do anything on the face of the planet, like the way you used to before because some guy in China chose to savor bat soup for supper.

However, life has gone on and people have started to adapt to living with the Coronavirus (well, almost).

With vaccination drives kicking on across the world to prevent the spread, the talk of that particular bat is no longer in the news. However, there is this one highly familiar and popular bat that never seems to go out of the news- (Na na na na na na na na) BAT-MAN!

Well, according to reports, the recent release of the much-awaited Snyder Cut of the Justice League, which featured Ben Affleck as Gotham's crime-fighting vigilante, has prompted fans to campaign for a standalone Batman movie starring Affleck, or 'Batfleck'.

While Affleck's casting as Batman back in 2013 was met with a huge backlash from fans who felt he wouldn't suit the role, his performances in the 2016 Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice left the audiences amazed.

The movie may have been criticized for a lot of reasons, however, Affleck's portrayal was not one of them.

According to critics as well as fans, the Oscar winner brought that much-needed physicality and dark tone to the comic book hero, which he then carried on to the 2017 Justice League film.

Now, in the wake of the Snyder Cut release, which is the 4-hour plus extended version of the Justice League, fans have taken to Twitter to demand The Batman film, with the #MakeTheBatfleckMovie soon trending on the microblogging website.

The standalone film featuring Gotham's Dark Knight was said to be in the works earlier and was to be directed by Affleck himself.

It was reported that the former Daredevil actor was set to co-write the film with Geoff Johns, while also directing and starring in it.

However, despite readying The Batman script, he later chose to step away from the project due to problems related to the Justice League.

A lot of things have changed since then, with the Snyder Cut getting a good reception from fans and along with The Flash standalone movie still on course, fans of the DC universe want Affleck to take up the iconic Batman cowl again.

Well, with no official comment from Affleck or the Warner Bros for a U-turn to the saga, it seems destined that the next time the Batman shows up on cinema screens again, it will not be Affleck, but a person who's no stranger to bats (or let's say Vampire bats)- Robert Pattinson.

The 34-year-old Twilight actor is next in line to play the superhero in Matt Reeves' The Batman, which is expected to release in March next year.

Till then, fans of the Snyderverse can hope that Affleck can reprise his role in what could be another parallel universe movie. I mean, seriously, looking at the current record, it remains a huge possibility.
