  2. Touted to be one of Bollywood's most aspirational projects in recent times, Ayan Mukerji's directorial trilogy 'Brahmastra' has been raking up a lot of speculations surrounding the plot and key highlights of the film. A fantasy-adventure drama, the makers of 'Brahmastra' launched the movie's logo yesterday at Kumbh using 150 drones, that lit up the sky to form what looked like Lord Brahma's weapon described in ancient Hindu scriptures. If you're wondering how much of all that will we actually get to see in the movie, then here is what director Ayan Mukherji said about the film in 2018, “It's a modern-day film set in India as it exists today. But the reason it's called Brahmastra is because the energies, wisdom, powers in the film come from ancient India. That's all I would say. 3. Actress Shraddha Kapoor turned 32 today and the makers of her upcoming film 'Saaho' have the most kickass birthday gift for her - 'Shades Of Saaho Chapter 2'. This one-minute teaser gives a sneak-peek into the making of the high-octane action scenes and her character. UV Creations For someone who spends 70 crores just to blow up cars, bikes and trucks in Abu Dhabi, you can't expect anything but the best and this behind-the-scenes video is proof of the same. Call it a tradition or an epic promotion strategy, the makers of 'Saaho' sure know how to get people's attention. Last year, they released the first BTS teaser of Chapter 1 on Prabhas' birthday and this year, they picked Shraddha's birthday to release the second teaser and introduce her character too. UV Creations While Shraddha plays a cop in the movie, everyone's beloved Baahubali will have to face enemies more fierce than Bhallaldeva, Kalakeyas and Katappa. By the looks of the teasers and trailers, Prabhas is all set to burn the screen with his high-octane stunts and performance. In fact, people can't get over how amazing the two, especially Prabhas looks. His dialogue, or just one word (to be precise), "Boom!" has already stirred a storm on the internet. However, it is Akshay's upcoming film 'Kesari' that has been garnering a lot of interest of late, and for all the right reasons too. The makers of the film have been releasing the film's promos in parts, and going by the first three promos we can easily tell that the film is going to be epic. The short promos from the film are enough to set us at the edge of our chairs and stir our curiosity about this lesser known event in Indian history. We bring you 5 interesting facts about 'Kesari' ahead of its release. 1. 'Kesari' is based on a real life historical battle that was fought on 12th of September in 1897. The battle pitted 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army against 10,000 Afghan Orakzai tribesmen. 2. Akshay Kumar will be seen essaying the role of Havildar Ishar Singh, who was the leader of the 36th Sikh Regiment, and had the reputation of being a feisty and experienced sergeant. It was under Ishar Singh's leadership that the 20 soldiers decided to answer to the call of duty and lay down their lives for the cause which would eventually save forts of Lokhart and Gulistan from the Afghan enemies. Earlier, reports suggested that Lawrence Woodward of 'Mad Max: Fury Road' fame has been roped in to work on the stunts of the film. Akshay will be learning sword fighting and hand-to-hand combat for the action scenes in the film. As per reports, the film has been shot in parts of Mumbai, Wai and Jaipur, where an old-worldly looking set was created for the shoot. 4. Akshay suffered from rib injury on the sets of 'Kesari' during the shoot of a high-octane action scene for the climax. Though Akshay was advised to take a break and return to Mumbai for treatment, Akshay stood by his team and stayed back in Wai to continue shooting, so that the delay doesn't incur any losses to the filmmakers. 6. The last of Rajkummar Rao and Fatima Shaikh that we saw in 2018 was a mixed bag of highs and lows. Whereas Rajkummar ended the year with a high, given the commercial and critical success of 'Stree', Fatima's year in Bollywood could have been better if 'Thugs of Hindostan' hadn't been the major disappointment that it was. However, regardless of what the past year brought to their film careers, 2019 holds new possibilities for both of them. Why we say that is because according to the latest reports, Rajkummar and Fatima are all set to star in Anurag Basu's yet-untitled movie, which is said to be a spin-off of Basu's 2007 directorial venture 'Life In A Metro' showcasing four different stories in one film. View this post on Instagram Dada ki gang A post shared by Fatima Sana Shaikh (@fatimasanashaikh) on Jan 15, 2019 at 7:59pm PST The first look of the film was earlier released on Twitter by Rajkummar and from the looks of it, it looks like a recreation of a song sequence from the 90s. While Rajkummar can be seen posing away from the camera in Mithun's iconic pose, Fatima is seen waving her saree with her back to the camera. बहà¥à¤¤ à¤à¤²à¥à¤¦à¥ सामनॠà¤à¤¯à¥à¤à¤à¥ à¤à¤ª लà¥à¤à¥à¤ à¤à¥à¥¤ तब तठà¤à¥ लिठà¤à¤ à¤à¤²à¤à¥¤ #AnuragBasu sir's next with @fattysanashaikh pic.twitter.com/hL7ocqpOXO — Rajkummar Rao (@RajkummarRao) January 17, 2019 As per latest reports, the shooting for the film has already started in Bhopal, where the cast is supposed to be shooting on a 15-day schedule, with 12-hour shifts. What is more, a Mumbai Mirror report has also suggested that a portion of the film will be shot in the ancestral property of Saif Ali Khan, which is now a luxury hotel. Fans can expect to taste the flavour of Bhopal in Anurag Basu's upcoming film, and we cannot wait to see what the trio has in store for us.
  7. 2017's blockbuster hit 'Raazi' showcased Alia Bhatt's best work so far and there is some really good news concerning just that. Apart from affirming the fact that Bollywood is now more open to female-led protagonists, we're also really happy to hear that the Alia Bhatt-Vicky Kaushal starrer might just get a sequel and we're really looking forward to that now. © AA Films As you know by now the movie was based on Harinder Sikka's book called 'Calling Sehmat' and now, there are talks concerning a sequel to that book, which in turn will also lead to a sequel to the movie. The reports were confirmed by the author himself, while he spoke to a popular publication and expressed his desire to write a sequel to his earlier book. His first book, which was a heavy inspiration for 'Raazi' was called 'Calling Sehmat' and it was released in 2008 and the one that will be written by him by the end of this year will be called 'Remembering Sehmat'. © Twitter "After I wrote Calling Sehmat in 2008, I spent another 10 years with her, on and off, depending on the little time she gave me. [The book will focus on] how she went into depression after the mission but fought her way out of it. It will reflect her personal journey since her return from Pakistan. The mysteries around her will be decoded in 'Remembering Sehmat'." said the author. While 'Calling Sehmat' was a book based on the real-life account of an Indian spy in Pakistan, the second one won't have anything to do with spying as much as it would be a take on Sehmat's life, when she returned back to India from Pakistan. Obviously, the second instalment has to go hand-in-hand with the ending of 'Calling Sehmat' (aka 'Raazi') and spying wouldn't really make much sense for 'Remembering Sehmat' and if you've seen the movie or read the book, you'd know exactly why. © AA Films While Sikka has started working on the second book, he also revealed that he's spoken enough to the Kashmiri girl, on whom the book and the movie are based, and that he has enough content about her life to write a sequel about her journey, post her return to India from Pakistan. The sequel has more to do with exploring Sehmat's life further and how after she returns to India, she goes through a severe bout of depression. It will also focus on her struggle to accept her own son and her disengagement from the public in general. © Twitter But apart from the book releasing, the movie is also rumoured to release sometime after the book and according to Sikka, who has already spoken to Alia regarding the project, she is very willing and keen to star in the sequel 'Remembering Sehmat', carrying forth her very intense and complicated role from the earlier movie. We're really glad she's agreed upon this project because honestly, we can't put anyone else's face other than Alia's for Sehmat's character. © Twitter Here's hoping the book does immensely well and the movie follows suit. After all, Bollywood is progressing towards making more movies which are adapted from books, rather than taking them directly from Hollywood and this one's something to look forward to!
  8. Bollywood icon Kader Khan passed away on December 31st 2018 at the age of 81, leaving a gaping hole in the Indian film industry and the lives of many people who grew up watching his movies. Most people, at least the 90s kids, remember him fondly for his comic roles, which were nothing short of iconic, as hardly anyone could achieve perfect comic timing like him. Here's a list of some of his famous movies that fans can watch with nostalgia, and remember his supreme talent of making people fall off their chairs from laughter: 1. Coolie No.1- This David Dhawan comedy would be incomplete without the comic timing of Kader Khan, who plays the concerned father of Karisma Kapoor. Govinda has a double role in the movie. 2. Haseena Maan Jayegi- Kader Khan plays the role of Amirchand who is the father of Sonu and Monu played by Govinda and Sanjay Dutt. 3. Hero No.1 – Another David Dhawan classic where Kader Khan pairs up with Govinda as his son. Govinda turns into a 'bawarchi' in order to impress his love interest Karisma's family. 4. Aankhen- Another David Dhawan flick starring Kader Khan as the father of Chunky Pandey and Govinda. The trio of David, Govinda and Kader Khan pelted some major blockbusters and this was one of them. 5. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi- This is one of the most memorable and funniest roles played by Kader Khan in his career. He played the role of Salman Khan's landlord in the film. 6. Dulhe Raja- Govinda probably owes a lot to the chemistry he had with Kader Khan, that actually catapulted him to the insane amount of fame that he enjoyed. Kader Khan plays the role of Raveena Tandon's father who is against her marrying Govinda. Super funny and a full-on laughter riot.
  9. Karan Johar's next venture is going to be nothing like we have ever seen before, at least from the ace director. Bringing a stellar cast together, the filmmaker is all set to go historical this time. Following Sanjay Leela Bhansali's steps, he is all set to take us down the Mughal era with his upcoming movie 'Takht'. Unlike most of his films, this one isn't a love story but an epic battle peppered with greed, ambition and betrayal that took place during the Mughal rule. Supremely Excited to announce the cast of #TAKHT!!!!! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on Aug 8, 2018 at 6:38pm PDT Well, looking at the kind of movies Karan has directed so far, this news did come as a surprise to many. We can't say if the movie will be an epic journey like Bhansali's films or filled with K3G clichés. But the star-studded cast that he has assembled has us pretty excited for sure. Bringing the best of B-town, the movie stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and will hit the screens in 2020. While there still are a couple of years to go before we will witness the historic bloodbath, we do have some details about the project. Here's a complete list of who will play what role in the movie, and after seeing the characters, we are sure this movie is going to be worth the wait. Dara Shikoh – Ranveer Singh (c) SLB Films If it wasn't for movies like 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmaavat', we would have never discovered Ranveer's talent of nailing historical roles. Taking yet another period project, Ranveer will be seen as Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal's eldest son Dara Shikoh. Many may not know this, but he was the rightful and favoured successor of the throne. However, his brother Aurangzeb defeated and killed him, in the battle. Things that power makes you do! Shah Jahan- Anil Kapoor (c) Facebook As per reports, Anil Kapoor will be seen as the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Yes, we all know he built the 'Taj Mahal', which is considered to be the most unique symbol of love, but at the same time, he was also considered to be one of the most beloved, talented and accomplished kings of the Mughal dynasty. However, we all know how his own son dethroned him and imprisoned him. Jahanara Begum- Kareena Kapoor Khan The stunning #kareena Kapoor Khan @falgunishanepeacockindia #ICW2018 #thecoutureweek #bridal #couture #bling #fashion #instapic # instafashion #fashionshow #runwaywalk #showstopper #kareenakapoorkhan Styled by @mohitrai @terra_inde @themallatoaktree @imageboutiqueshop A post shared by Falguni Shane Peacock India (@falgunishanepeacockindia) on Jul 27, 2018 at 2:27am PDT Essaying the role of Dara and Aurangzeb's sister will be Bebo. While women never really had a strong say during the Mughal era, Jahanara, on the other hand, was known for expressing her views openly, and her views were taken quite seriously in the royal court. We have seen Kareena in the historic film 'Asoka' before, but this is the first time we will see her portraying a character like this. Begum Nadira Banu - Alia Bhatt (c) Instagram Isn't she just ruling Bollywood right now? Alia will be seen romancing Ranveer as his wife in 'Takht'. After 'Gully Boys', the two will be seen in this movie and we already approve of this on-screen jodi. 10. Love him or hate him, but there is something about Karan Johar's movies that often make them a big hit. His movies might border on the clichéd but they also have the magic to charm his audience. Disliked by some and loved by many, KJo's last venture 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' was an instant hit. © Dharma Productions The intertwined tales of Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made its way into millions of hearts. Some could understand the depth of Ayan and Alizeh's unique friendship while some could relate with the bitter feeling of unfulfilled love. From Saba's intensity, the beautiful shayaris to Shah Rukh Khan's iconic 'ek tarfa pyar ki taqat hi kuch aur hoti hai' dialogue, it is a movie that millennials will remember for ages to come. And all set to recreate that same magic once again, Karan Johar is now gearing up for his next movie that already has us excited. Bringing the best of Bollywood into one project, Johar has apparently signed Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor for his next movie. © Twitter As per a report by Koimoi, Karan Johar's next movie is a historical period drama with two heroes and heroines. The story will tie the male leads as brothers, Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the elder and Johar is still on the hunt for the younger one. © SLB Films As per the source, “Karan earlier wanted Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh to play brothers but Ranbir turned it down later. He had said yes first, but then he changed his mind. Karan doesn't know whether he changed his mind because it's a negative role or because he doesn't want to do a two-hero film with Ranveer.” © Hotstar Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan are all set to play the two female leads. Alia will be seen romancing Ranveer, while Kareena will play his sister. © Twitter The source also said that KJo is facing problems finding another male lead, as actors are not okay with working in a two-hero film. Also, Karan can't approach big names as he intends to find someone who is actually younger than Ranveer. © Twitter Alia and Ranveer will soon be seen in Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' together and this development proves that this couple is already in demand. No doubt, this is the dream cast and if reports are true, then it would be a great movie in the making. Though we wonder if Karan can actually pull off a period film, what do you think?
  11. A lot of celebrity airport outfits maybe spiffy and absolutely on point, but honestly, not all are apt for the aam aadmi, or in their budget. Another fact: while most men want to look really stylish in life, they also want to be comfortable while headed to the airport, and while being just out-and-about. Anil Kapoor's recent outfit here highlights exactly what we're talking about. It's straight out of any Indian man's wardrobe, easy to slip into/pull off and of course, comfortable as hell. Here, presenting to you, the outfit that any Indian man can pull off! © Viral Bhayani Caught by our shutterbugs while leaving the Mumbai airport (he had just returned from Singapore), Anil Kapoor, so to say, was looking rather dope and at his casual best. His airport outfit was easy, comfortable, stylish — exactly how you'd want your airport outfit to be. Featuring a relaxed fit navy blue T-shirt, a pair of black jeans washed out at the knees, clearly, Anil slipped into very every day, wardrobe basics here. Without any surprises, he finishes the look off with his staple round sunnies and peak Dad-like trainers. © Viral Bhayani But while his apparel choices may be very basic and ordinary here, let's give it to the guy for styling them right. The actor has tucked his easy, breezy T-shirt into his jeans like a left-hand game, while keeping it messy and partially-tucked (he was clearing eyeing a very easy vibe). Notice how the buckle of his belt is on full display, along with a leather band smartwatch in his hand. Ordinary guy clothing and accessories, styled in a very ordinary manner. © Viral Bhayani Altogether, it's the easiest outfit to own for every Indian guy (plus, the easiest to cop), let's not forget that it can also be put together with the snap of a finger. But most importantly, the outfit would be very light on the wallet and can be found at any small/big box store. If this isn't practical airport style, what is? Clearly, we now have a celebrity stamp of approval on wearing comfortable and easy gear to the airport. Don't forget to carry your luggage along (lol). © Viral Bhayani Looks like, our next airport look lies in our wardrobe!

  13. I know the headline will make all the Salman Khan fans start raining hate on me and the admin, but in all honesty, we are not calling him the 'worst Bollywood actor'. You can blame Google or the person handling the SEO for this goof-up or error. But I guess, we can categorize 'Race 3' and its sequels in the horror genre. © SKF Despite all the negative reviews, memes on Daisy Shah and her 'business', and cringe-worthy dialogues and songs; 'Race 3' had one of the highest openings and entered the 100 crore club within three days. 15. For all those who missed watching R Madhavan in Hindi films, his new project is bound to make their day. No, he hasn't come up with a film just yet but it is just as good. Our very own Maddy is here with a digital series called 'Breathe' with Amazon Prime and after looking at the trailer, your perception about him will change. Completely. Known for mostly doing 'good-guy' roles, Madhavan is playing the role of a father who can go to any lengths to save the life of his child. Basically, he is shedding the 'good-guy' image and boy, he is doing it REALLY well. The digital series has been in the news since months, owing to its chilling posters and teasers that Maddy kept posting on his social media. Like this one. Get ready for a breathless experience. #BreatheTeaser in 3 days! @BreatheAmazon @AmazonVideoIN pic.twitter.com/QgJNenGNuz — Ranganathan Madhavan (@ActorMadhavan) January 2, 2018 And this too. And now, after what felt like years, the full trailer of the series is finally here and has left us wanting for more. Who doesn't want to see more of this talented man? The trailer pretty much tells the entire plot of the story. Madhavan, as told before, is a doting father whose son is in his dying stages because of severe lung damage. © Amazon Prime Video In order to save his life, he needs more blood belonging to the AB negative group, which unfortunately does not have a lot of donors. © Amazon Prime Video This is enough to turn Madhavan's character into a monster that'd go to any extent to save his son's life, even if that includes murdering people. And by murders, we mean LOTS of murders. © Amazon Prime Video Have a look at the chilling trailer: The show is set to be Amazon's first trilingual digital series and will stream in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The series also stars Amit Sadh and Sapna Pabbi and is set to release on 26th January across 200+ countries and territories worldwide.

Talking about the film, he wrote in a Facebook post, “GOD, *** and TRUTH is neither a film, nor a short film nor a series ...it's about Mia Malkova speaking about *** and how much it means to her. I, both as a person and as a film maker very strongly believe in the underlying depth of what GOD ,*** and TRUTH truly represents.” The description of the film, the poster and stills have definitely got us hooked but after we saw the trailer, we are a little confused. © Instagram Erotic visuals combined with philosophy don't exactly make the best of combination. While Mia makes love to herself in the trailer, we also get to see some quotes about *** from popular personalities which are apparently the inspiration behind the film. © RGV Talkies All of this just makes us wonder 'What exactly is the intention behind this whole thing?' Nevertheless, we think it might just help you fight the midweek blues. Have a look at the trailer and judge for yourself: If the trailer has got you excited, then here's some good news. You don't have to wait much longer as the final full film will be released on Malkova's Vimeo channel on 26th January.
  17. Fans? dream of watching the father-daughter duo together on screen could finally be coming true Fans? dream of watching the father-daughter duo Anil Kapoor and Sonam together on screen could finally be coming true. As per the latest reports in Indian media, the duo will be starring in a film titled ?Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga? ? a nostalgic reference to the classic hit from Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala?s ?1942: A Love Story?. The film will be directed by Shelly Chopra and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and will star Juhi Chawla. ?All that is known currently is that Anil and Sonam will play father-daughter and Juhi Chawla will play her mother. Rajkummar Rao will play Sonam?s love interest,? said a source. Plus, I have signed an NDA with Vidhu Vinod Chopra so I cannot say a single word without proper permissions as I will be breaching the contract. These days, everyone is becoming protective about their content. Stakes are so high and with so much media and social media around us, everything gets out even when we want to keep it a surprise. So everyone is careful because they don?t want to affect their film. And it?s also good in a way.?
  18. If we talk about the most underrated actors in Bollywood, R Madhavan is definitely going to make it to that list. Comparing him to the likes of the Khans or the newbies in the Bollywood industry, Maddy's Bollywood career hasn't exactly been that great. Despite that, he has a loyal fan following who wait with bated breath to see him on the big screen. This time, however, he is taking a different route and is coming to your TV screens. 19. Salman Khan- a household name that has the power to melt hearts of women across the planet. And if we are honest enough, men aren't too far behind in terms of fanboying over this superstar. Time and again, the man has proved that his success is unparalleled and even at the age of 51; there's no stopping him. Much to the delight of his fans, Salman has a number of movies lined up in the upcoming years. And that even isn't the best part. The fact that he is going to star in the sequels of some of the best movies that Bollywood has seen so far, is just the cherry on top of the cake. Here are 5 upcoming sequels with our very own Sallu in the lead: 1. 'Race 3' In the past few days, a lot has been said and done about 'Race 3' and for all the right reasons. When Salman tweeted, what essentially can be termed as a confirmation about the star cast of the film, the whole country sat up and took notice. 'Dabangg 3' © Bollywood Cat It's safe to say that when 'Dabangg' released in 2010, Salman's career was catapulted to further heights. The crazy amount of success and love that the film was able to garner from fans across the world resulted in the sequel of the movie 'Dabangg 2' and now, there's a third installment in the works and there is confirmation about the same. Sonakshi Sinha, who starred opposite Salman in the first two installments, will be in the third part as well. On being asked about the schedule in an interview she said, "The shoot begins probably early next year. They are currently scripting. It is in a very early stage. I am busy with my film and Salman will begin shooting for 'Race 3'. So after that, till then, the process is on." 3. 'Kick 2' © Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Salman's avatar of the 'Devil' in the movie 'Kick' left the audience in awe. The movie was a blockbuster and so it totally made sense to go ahead and come up with a sequel. Although there isn't an official confirmation about the same, according to some reports, director Sajid Nadiadwala was secretly busy working on the script for some time. And apparently, the film has finally got a green signal from Salman. The sequel will kick off in 2019. 4. 'Wanted 2' © Eros International When Prabhu Deva and Salman Khan team up, a blockbuster is bound to hit the theatres. Since quite some time now, the 'Wanted' sequel was stuck amid a legal issue due to copyright infringement issues. However, according to reports, the courts have now ruled in the producer's favour and Salman and Prabhu have already had a meeting about the project. 5. 'Tiger Zinda Hai' © Yash Raj Films You saw this coming, didn't you? How can we not talk about this one? 'Tiger Zinda Hai' is the sequel to 'Ek Tha Tiger' that released back in 2012. The film was a major success and starred Katrina Kaif opposite Salman. And now, fans of the power pair will get another opportunity to see the duo together on screen in this action-packed film. The trailer sure looks promising. Now, it's a little early to squeal with excitement and so we can only sit and wait for official announcements about certain projects. But until that happens, Salman is coming to grace your nearest theatre on December 22 with 'Tiger Zinda Hai'.
  20. A scene from the film. Photo: Handout Jon Favreau?s 2014 ?Chef? was a middling film about a portly chef who finds his real goals in life after a disastrous social media showdown with a noted critic. Despite well-lit shots of steak and dessert, and with a father-son bonding story thrown in, it was never sweet enough to work. But given new India?s obsession with food and eating out, this might have been a good remake, if only director Raja Krishna Menon hadn?t forgotten to add the spice. The Hindi ?Chef? is as one-toned and as predictable as the original. For a film that purports to be about food, there is little more than a passing interest demonstrated. Instead, the focus is on Roshan Kalra, a chef who is fired from his job in an Indian restaurant after he punches a customer (something Saif Ali Khan was accused of doing in real life). Roshan returns home to India from New York to see his pre-teen son Armaan (Svar Kamble) and ex-wife Radha (Padmapriya), who live in a picturesque, old-world bungalow in Kochi. There, Roshan re-discovers his relationship with his son and with food. When Biju (Milind Soman), Radha?s friend, offers him a chance to overhaul an old double-decker bus and start running a restaurant, he reluctantly takes up the offer. A former colleague from New York joins him, and it turns into one merry road trip across India, serving ?fusion? Indian food along the way. Alas, this fusion food, like much else in the film, is boring. Take, for example, the ?rotzaa?, or a pizza fashioned out of that staple Indian flatbread, the roti ? something a thousand Indian restaurants have on their menus. This ?rotzaa? is symptomatic of the approach ?Chef? takes ? it makes no attempt transcend or improve on the original film. For someone with a Michelin star, Roshan seems to have just one kind of pasta dish and the ?rotzaa? in his repertoire. The film is full of food clichés like ?chhole bhature? from Delhi and ?puttu? (steamed rice noodles) from Kerala, and full of relationship clichés like the father bonding with the son. To their credit, Saif Ali Khan and debutant Svar Kamble are comfortable in their characters. But Roshan?s relationship with his ex-wife is handled haphazardly. Biju is first shown as a threat, then disappears completely, and Radha flits in and out of the screenplay like she isn?t sure how she fits. The end plays out as you thought it would. The original ?Chef? at least made a comment on the food cart phenomenon in the United States, but there is no such phenomenon in India. Neither the food nor the emotions in this remake satisfy.
  21. Thumbs Up: Stellar performance, interesting story, and Kaavaan Kaavaan song Thumbs Down: The first half can be a bit boring at times To watch or not to watch: Book your tickets now! Kishan Girhotra (Farhan Akhtar) has always dreamt of becoming a singer and forming his own band. Everything is shattered when, suddenly, he is accused of murder and is handed life imprisonment. In jail, he gets an opportunity to form a band with few fellow inmates Parminder Gill (Gippy Grewal), Victor Chattopadhyay (Deepak Dobriyal), Purushottam Madan Pandit (Rajesh Sharma) and Dikkat Ansari (Inaamulhaq) in Lucknow Central prison with the help of an NGO worker, Gayatri Kashyap (Diana Penty). Kishan's master plan is to escape the prison on Independence Day. Now what's left for viewers is to see is if he will achieve his dream of forming a band in the prison or jailbreak? (c) Viacom18 Still wondering to watch or not to watch? Here are 3 reasons of why you should watch this film: 1. Entertaining and Interesting It wouldn't be wrong to say that Lucknow Central is one of the more entertaining films of the year. Giving us a glimpse into life (and politics) in the prison, the story engages us from the start. What makes the story even more interesting is the cat and mouse chase between the jailor (Ronit Bose Roy) and Krishan. It is their equation that totally makes this film worth a watch. 2. Stellar Performances Farhan Akhtar is too good to be true.. As one would expect from him, he has donned his character so well that you just can't take your eyes off him. He totally rocks the show and supporting him are four wonderful actors – Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma and Inaamulhaq. It is because of them that Farhan's character gets more depth. Ronit Roy, once again, leaves us stunned with his acting. He is one of those rare actors who can pull off any role effortlessly. He owns his role and the audience will love him for that. Diana Penty is a delight to watch as is Ravi Kishan (Lucknow Chief Minister). (c) Viacom18 3. Has its own identity Despite having a plot familiar to the recently released film ‘Qaidi Band', the script of ‘Lucknow Central' stands out. It might remind you of ‘Shawshank Redemption', but the film has its own identity and the story of each inmate stands out on its own merit. The film leaves you with the basic thought of how do people live behind bars? What would life out there be like? Is everyone a criminal there? (c) Viacom18 MensXP verdict: Those that might not have seen ‘Qaidi Band' will instantly end up liking the premise of the film. While the first half might seem a bit slow, the actors' stellar performance and entertaining script will ensure you watch it till the end.

  23. For the past couple of days, two people have been making headlines because of promotional posters released by Yash Raj Films. For those who couldn't figure it out yet, we are talking about the newcomers Anya Singh and Aadar Jain, who are all set to floor us with their upcoming movie ‘Qaidi Band'. Aadar Jain is Ranbir Kapoor's cousin andRaj Kapoor's grandson. The movie's much-awaited trailer was finally released today and in all honesty, the trailer gave away the whole gist of the film and did not intrigue us at all. © Yash Raj Films The trailer starts with a scene of jail inmates fighting and placing bets and doing all sorts of random things to make money. The plot then gradually shifts to the under-trials forming an orchestra band to perform on Independence Day. The under-trials soon put their hopes of freedom on music and start giving their best, but right when they are about to be released, something unexpected happens. While, at some places it looks like a combination of Ranbir Kapoor's ‘Rockstar' and Farhan Akhtar's ‘Rock On', there is another movie that is based on similar lines. The movie is ‘Lucknow Central' and talks about a jail inmate who forms his band inside the jail. It stars Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Gippy Grewal, Ronit Roy and Deepak Dobriyal among others. Check out the trailer here. The concept is interesting and different from what YRF usually delivers, but the trailer did not impress us at all. Further, the lead pair failed to stand out, although some of their dialogues were really amazing. It is written and directed by Habib Faisal and produced by Aditya Chopra. Whether this movie manages to leave an impact on the audience will be known on August 25, when it hits theatres.
  24. She is hot, stunning and beautiful. Well, when it comes to describing Katrina Kaif, we often fall short of words. But just to put it simply, she is the queen of our hearts and we ain't complaining. From making her debut in Bollywood to ruling the industry, she has done it all. Every time she appears on screen in her sultry and alluring avatar she makes our heart beat faster. Remember Kat's swag in Kamli? There isn't a soul on earth who wouldn't crush on her after watching that phenomenal song. Well, that's just not it from her passionate lovemaking scene with Hrithik Roshan in 'Bang Bang' to getting intimate with Shah Rukh Khan, here's the list of Katrina's steamy sequences. Get ready for BOOM Long before Katrina made it big in Bollywood, she got all seductive and dirty with Gulshan Grover in the film 'Boom'. If reports are to be believed, Salman Khan made sure that these scenes were cut from the film, however they were released later taking the Internet by a storm. No matter how unbelievable it might seem, she did get all dirty in this scene with Bollywood's Bad Man. It's time to bang bang! Well, who can forget Hrithik Roshan and Katrina's chemistry? From 'Bang Bang' to 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', their sizzling equation has caught everyone's eyes. When the rule was broken! Many actresses can claim to romance King Khan but Katrina has done more than romancing. Before 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', Shah Rukh Khan swore by the no kiss on-screen rule. However, it changed during this film. From kissing to making love, this video has everything for SRK and Kat fans. Another hot dose Katrina is hot but so is Arjun Rampal. When the couple came together in 'Rajneeti', not only did they show the cruel, dark side of politics but also raised the temperature with their love-making scene. Very, very sexy If you thought these scenes were too hot then you surely got to see her on-screen equation with Aditya Roy Kapoor in 'Fitoor'. Things get more steamy and spicy in this film. The temperature is rising! What happens when two Bollywood heartthrobs come together? Magic is created and that's exactly what we witnessed in the film 'New York'. From lovey-dovey conversation to passionate scenes between Katrina and John Abraham, everything is fiery and alluring.
  25. After his last film ‘Bar Bar Dekho' failed at the box, many fans were disappointed with Sidharth Malhotra. But let's not get disheartened as the actor is all set to impress us this year with just not one but three movies. Sid is definitely on a roll as just recently he shared the first look of his film ‘Aiyaary and A Gentleman' and he has also unveiled the poster of his upcoming film ‘Ittefaaq: It Happened One Night.' Sid and Sonakshi took over Twitter, creating a buzz as they shared the first look of their poster. Sid shared the glimpse of his character in handcuffs and captioned it, "Would you believe me if I say it was all just an Ittefaq?" The film is being backed by Dharma Production and Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with BR Films. Meanwhile, Akshay Khanna is gearing up for the release of ‘Mom' where he stars along with Sridevi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film is creating a lot of buzz in B-town and people are eagerly waiting to watch it.
