Pakistani Media Refuses To Interview Minister After He Arrives To Press Conference 2 Hours Late

The press and news media may be termed as the Fourth Estate, in terms of advocacy and its ability to frame political issues, however, with the news actually revolving around politicians, filmstars, sportsmen, and other celebrities, media persons are often made to adjust their timetables to suit the comfort of their interviewees.

While there are a fair few renowned people who make it a point to turn up on time, many still choose to be fashionably late for events, leaving journalists to sweat it out in the sun for hours at a go.

With most choosing to stay quiet and polite in their quest of obtaining that much-needed soundbite, there are a few who finally decide to draw the line.

This is what happened in Pakistan, where journalists who had been waiting for two hours for the country's Water and Resources Minister Faisal Vadwa to address a press conference, chose to walk out when he finally decided to arrive.

According to a 30-second video that has now gone viral on social networking sites, journalists confronted the minister on the rising corruption in the area, before withdrawing the mics and walking off from the press conference.

One journalist could be seen in the video, saying, “you did not give us time, so we are boycotting your press conference.”

Soon after, the video made rounds of the internet with viewers applauding the audacious move and calling the media persons, "journalists with spine."

Here are some of their reactions:

Bloody hell....what did I just see...!!!

You won't believe it.

Journalists with spine...!
They exist but in other countries sadly pic.twitter.com/7hvRElcSYd
