Be it the tragic incident of American police officers snuffing the life out of George Floyd in May of last year, or the recent attacks on the Asian American committee in Atlanta, USA, racially motivated attacks are more prevalent than ever.

Social networking websites like Instagram, Twitter, and others have also come under fire for not taking prompt actions on accounts that target people of colour by sending them hateful messages online.
Take footballers, film stars, or other celebrities, no one has been spared of having the feeling of discrimination at the hands of hate-filled keyboard warriors sitting in the comfort of their homes.

Now, at a time when people with authority and the ones that influence, should come together to educate and eradicate racism out of the modern world, television hosts in Italy enraged viewers by making racist slanted-eye gestures and mocking Chinese accents.
this is so recent, here’s the video, you can judge it on your own, do i need to say anything? pic.twitter.com/0zPWaz4UY8

The incident occurred on the Italian satirical TV show Striscia la Notizia, when hosts Gerry Scotti and Michelle Hunziker began to discuss the Italian national broadcasting company RAI, which is headquartered in Beijing, China.
Scotti, a former member of the Italian Parliament, and Hunziker, a Swiss-Italian actress, and model, mocked the Chinese people's pronunciation of the letter 'R', before moving on to pull the corner of their eyes in a similar fashion as the common racist gesture that caricatures Asian features.
Following the shameful incident, people took to Twitter to share what they felt.
michelle hunziker and gerry scotti made fun of chinese people on national tv on one of the most viewed italian channels. this is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable and i am so tired of the normalisation of racism towards asian people here in italy

— Mikasa Ackerman (@ohvantaetae) April 14, 2021I’m so sorry. I’m Italian and Gen Z doesn’t watch TV anymore, we don’t laugh because it’s not funny for us. In Italy we are not all like that, but unfortunately the elderly do not give weight to words and things like f-word, n-word and racist attitudes that are considered normal.
— noelle (@onlvangvl) April 15, 2021This is supposed to be entertaining in Italy? 🥴These are adults with a huge audience. Racist, trash behaviour like this is harmful & irresponsible.

— Karen Johnson (KJ) (@KarenJohnsonTV) April 14, 2021No this is a terrible, racist TV show that shouldn't exist
— ORIETTA 4 THE WIN🥺 (@callmelorelay_) April 14, 2021#Italy allows full-blown racism on national TV @Striscia !
Gerri Scotti & Michelle Hunziker need an education along with everyone who laughed at their slant eye gesture. #StopAsianHate
