India continues to see a surge in COVID cases as the country is recording an alarming number of cases and deaths on a daily basis.
In an article in the Washington Post, Ashish Jha, the dean of the Brown University School of Public Health also warned that the country is on the brink of a 'humanitarian catastrophe'.
I want to express our solidarity with the people of India as they battle a dangerous wave of COVID-19. Our prayers for a speedy recovery go to all those suffering from the pandemic in our neighbourhood & the world. We must fight this global challenge confronting humanity together
— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) April 24, 2021
Very recently Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan mentioned that both the countries should fight the virus together.
Former Pakistan cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar took to his YouTube channel and appealed to Pakistan's government to help India deal with the Covid-19 virus.
Akhtar mentioned that global support is required to deal with such a health crisis.
India is really struggling with Covid-19. Global support needed. Health care system is crashing. Its a Pandemic, we are all in it together. Must become each other's support.

He also took to Twitter to post the link of the video and tweeted saying, "India is really struggling with Covid-19. Global support needed. The health care system is crashing. It's a Pandemic, we are all in it together. Must become each other's support,"

Swara Bhasker then took to Twitter and applauded Pakistan for supporting India.
She wrote "Heartening to see Pakistani civil society and social media reach out in solidarity and kindness to India during this devastating time,"
She further added, "This despite the fact that our media and mainstream public discourse have consistently mocked and vilified Pakistanis."
In the end, she wrote, "Thank you for your bada dil Padosi."

She also appreciated cricketer Shoaib Akhtar for addressing the distressing situation in India. She wrote, "Thank you Shoib Akhtar ji for the kind words and gesture of humanity! Deeply appreciated,"
Even Momina Mustehsan, a Pakistani actor, requested the government to join hands with India and help with the shortage of resources.
She wrote, "As cases in India soar to highest global daily and second highest in total, it is bound to put strain on resources. This is humanity vs the virus. Our battle against Covid is also intensifying, but can we share to help our neighbors? #IndiaNeedsOxygen @ImranKhanPTI @SMQureshiPTI,”
India is currently facing an acute shortage of oxygen cylinders, ventilators, medicines, hospital beds etc. All the basic requirements a patient would need to battle the virus.
Several sources are now taking to social media to appeal for the shortage of resources.
Here's how the people reacted to Pakistan's social media coming forward to help India.
This is true face of Pakistan. Loving and caring nation standing with India in testing times no matter how ugly our past and present is this indicates we will have a bright future.

— Razzi (@RK000120) April 24, 2021Now you know how Modi & Sanghis have turned India into a country which is worse than Pakistan on many fronts including an important one that is humanity & concern for each other despite the bitterness of past 74 years!
— Capt G R Choudhary (@captgrc) April 25, 2021Pakistan-based humanitarian organisation Edhi Foundation has offered to help the people of India manage the Covid-19 pandemic.
— Arif Siddiqui (@ariftweeterist) April 24, 2021While some people continue to try and spread hate in such trying times as well...
