With an abject lack of a strong health infrastructure and people not taking precautions, it won’t be very surprising to witness India getting hit by the third wave of Coronavirus.
K Vijay Raghavan, principal scientific advisor to India's government has already declared that the third wave of Covid-19 was inevitable looking at the current surge in infections.

“A phase three is inevitable, given the high levels of circulating virus, but it is not clear on what time scale this phase 3 will occur. Hopefully, incrementally, but we should prepare for new waves. Previous infections and vaccines will cause adaptive pressure on the virus for new kinds of changes which try to escape, and, therefore, we should be prepared, scientifically to take care of that,” he said in his recent statement.
When people got to know about the news regarding the probable third wave, they filled Twitter with their concerns through memes.
"The third surge in India which is around the corner according to experts will affect children. So when a child goes to the hospital, the mother and father will also have to go. That is why vaccination will have to be over for this group of people. we need to plan for this scientifically and thus make an arrangement," a Supreme Court bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud also added in his statement as quoted by Bar and Bench.

If people keep continuing to be reckless and the health infrastructure continues to deteriorate, the third wave will be more dangerous.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday (May 5, 2021), India registered 382,315 fresh cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the preceding 24 hours, pushing the nationwide infection tally past 20.66 million.
