Well, what a huge week for fans of the horror/supernatural movie genre worldwide. After three big years since the release of John Krasinski's hit horror/sci-fi film, A Quiet Place, fans living in the United States were finally treated with the release of the much-awaited sequel, A Quiet Place Part II.

And, while the first film which starred Krasinski, his wife Emily Blunt alongside Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, mustered in excellent reviews from both critics as well as fans, the new film is said to have had a similar reception.

The sequel carries forward the story of the Abbotts, a family trying to survive in a world where they cannot make any sound beyond whispers due to the fear of being killed by blind otherworldly monsters who are very sensitive to sound.

Spoiler Alert! While Krasinski died at the end of the first movie, according to recent reviews the movie still possesses a serious punch to it, owing to the plot, the visual elements, as well as the addition of some new cast members, especially Irish actor Cillian Murphy.

As per reports, A Quiet Place Part II has received extremely positive reviews, with Rotten Tomatoes giving an impressive rating of 91 percent.

The horror flick has also managed to really bring cinema back to theatres with a bang by clocking a first-day collection of $19.4 million at the box office in North America.

Following the release of the movie, critics' reviews also reigned in with many being impressed by what the horror story has in store for fans.

“A nerve-wracking continuation of its predecessor, A Quiet Place Part II expands the terrifying world of the franchise without losing track of its heart.” according to a critical consensus.

“It’s almost immediately immersive to be here again… even if it ultimately feels like three-quarters of a very good movie chopped off from a whole,” said Weekly’s Leah Greenblatt.

Fans of the franchise also had plenty to say about the film as they took to Twitter to share their views.

A Quiet Place Pt. 2 is now projected for a ~$47M 3-day weekend and a ~$57M 4-day weekend. The original opened to $50M in 2018.
