The OnePlus 5 Will Have The iPhone 7 Plus Camera Feature We All Wanted In Android Smartphones

The OnePus 5 is all set to launch in less than a few hours in New York and it is one of the most anticipated smartphones reveal since the Galaxy S8. OnePlus 5 spec leaks have risen in number in the past few weeks and its time to talk about yet another one.

We all know that the smartphone looks somewhat like the iPhone 7 Plus but the company has now shied away from paying homage to Apple for educating the world about dual-cameras. In a mini-documentary about the OnePlus 5, The Verge revealed that one of the most popular features from the iPhone 7 Plus will also be making its way to the OnePlus 5.

CEO Pete Lau says: “The largest consumer value [from dual cameras] is in the portrait mode.”

Meanwhile, the firm’s imaging director Simon Liu added: “There are technologies that allow portrait mode with a single camera. But at this point, the output is still not as good as those with [a] dual-camera module.”

After looking at the video, one can expect the depth effect that we all adore in the iPhone 7 Plus to be present in the OnePlus 5 . The feat is easily achieved when a smartphone uses a dual-camera setup. OnePlus also claims to have the highest resolution array for the cameras they have implemented in their smartphones.

According to leaks, the main camera is a 17-megapixel Sony sensor with a f/1.7 aperture. The secondary camera is a 20-megapixel Sony sensor that has a f/2.6 telephoto lens.

The first reveal of the smartphone is all set to take place today at an event in New York. You can watch the live stream starting 9:30 PM (IST).
