The art piece itself is animated with bright colours and has Vishal’s own voice. Interest in the auction kicked off 11 seconds after going live and the first bid was made 45 minutes later. The buyer of the NFT also got to chat live with Vishal and possibly a Meet&Greet if COVID rules allow.

Commenting on the occasion Vishal Malhotra said,” Excited to collaborate with an NFT artist as the first Indian actor, where I am the subject of the art piece which depicts the characters I have played in my journey as an actor. I have lent my voice to the background music of the artwork as well. What’s interesting is that it also helps me connect to the people who buy the collection. They get a chance for a meet and greet depending on the covid situation or get an interaction live/online. A bid that started at approx 0.5 eth (700USD) finally sold within 24 hours for 2.5eth (5500 USD) that’s 5 times the listed price. The buzz around this HISTORIC NFT drop was so much that it created an intense bidding war. My next NFT drops early next week and I’ve already been getting messages with bids!”

An NFT is a unit of data stored on a blockchain that certifies digital assets to be unique and not interchangeable. NFTs can be used to sell items such as photos, videos, audio files or any other type of audio file. NFTs are tracked on blockchain to provide the buyer proof of ownership. However, this is not the same as owning copyright. Copies of the digital items are available for anyone to obtain and access to the original digital file is not only restricted to the buyer.

NFTs work similar to cryptocurrency tokens however the main difference is that NFTs are not mutually interchangeable like Cryptocurrencies. Digital Art has been an early use case for NFTs because of its ability to assure unique signature and ownership.
