Sometimes there comes a movie which looks like an entertainer on the surface, has good music and also offers a stellar star cast. Then you start watching it and you realise that while the movie is well made, it is also a very realistic projection of how a dysfunctional family system works.
The character played by Fawad Khan in Kapoor & Sons, that of Arjun, the quintessential favourite child of the two siblings and someone who is trying to open up to his family about his same-*** relationship, the movie did a good job is showing how most Indian families look like.
Fawad won many accolades and critical acclaim for playing his part so well, but before he was chosen for the role, producer Karan Johar and director Shakun Batra mentioned in several interviews that a few actors who were originally approached for the role had turned it down.
