4 Red Flags We Didn’t Notice In Aamir Khan's Character Akash From ‘Dil Chahta Hai’

Dil Chahta Hai was released in the year 2001 and was the directorial debut of Farhan Akhtar. The film starred Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshaye Khanna in the lead role. The film showcases the three characters navigating through the heartbreaks of transition into adulthood and also focuses on their almost tangible friendship.

Dil Chahta Hai is one of the best films about friendship in Bollywood. However, Akash played by Aamir Khan is a little weird and raised a lot of red flags that we didn’t notice back then. So, here we go-

He Is A Man-Child

He is just another man-child who is extremely proud and literally sounded like he didn’t care and is just another entitled rich kid. He is spoilt to an extent that his parents are also dissatisfied with him as he is not driven towards accomplishing anything in life.

Also, no one can blame them for feeling this way!

Every Woman Is A 'Prize' For Him

Every girl is a conquest for him and he can’t seem to take no for an answer from anyone. He also mostly tries and goes out of the way to show women that he is extremely charming but ends up annoying them.

Also, he is such a child that he embarrasses Shalini in front of his entire friend group just to seek her attention.

He has zero respect for women and he doesn’t care if that girl is his friend or is his friend’s friend. He ill-treats Sameer’s girlfriend and gloats about getting him into major trouble.

He Is Immature

Even after Akash falls in love, he doesn’t understand why Sid felt offended about his comment. And Akash never reaches out to Sid to apologize. He realizes everything really late.
