‘Pissed Or Happy For Childhood Buddy?’ Mayank Agarwal’s Look As He Hugs Rahul Confuses Fans

KL Rahul’s innings on Day 1 of the second Test between India and England at the iconic Lord’s cricket ground in London has to be one of the finer performances to have come from the cricketer’s bat in the history of his career.

Starting out slowly while his opening partner, Rohit Sharma did the heavy lifting on the other end of the pitch, Rahul took the command after the Hitman’s dismissal and played at a sensible pace while forming a 117-run partnership with Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

By the time the playing time of Thursday came to an end, an unbeaten Rahul had already created history by becoming the first ever Indian opener since Ravi Shastri to score a century at Lord’s in red-ball cricket.

In a video recently shared by the official Twitter handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rahul could be seen leaving the cricket ground at the end of the first day and into the Team India dressing room.

On his way, he came across the different members of his team including Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant. Head Coach Ravi Shastri also walked up to him to give a pat on his back as Rahul unwinded amidst his boys.

However, there was one very peculiar moment in the video that caught the attention of thousands of Team India fans as soon as they saw it. It was when Rahul entered the Lord’s long hall and his childhood buddy and fellow teammates Mayank Agarwal embraced him in celebration of his sixth Test ton.

Many feel that Agarwal was ecstatic about the his friend’s name getting etched in the prestigious honour board of the stadium:

Meanwhile, others feel that Agarwal was feeling a bit disappointed of the fact that he may have missed out on the opportunity to create history due to friendly-fire in the nets during the practice session:

Mere days before the India-England Test series was scheduled to kick-off, Agarwal suffered a head concussion after teammate Mohammed Siraj struck his helmet with a bouncer in the nets. It was only then that Rahul got the opportunity to get himself back in the team to show that he was indeed in form and ready for the English pace on any ground.
