A Company Is Paying Rs 95K To Watch 13 Horror Movies In 10 Days & We Want To Sign Up

If your date night idea is to watch a horror movie together, if you love Halloween even though you are desi and if randomly listening to spooky ghost stories gives you a kick, then you are a horror freak or in literary terms, a phobophile.

Well, now the brave movie buffs could make some pennies out of their strange interests.

A US company is looking for a ‘horror movie heart rate analyst’. It is offering $1300 (Rs. 95000) to anyone who is willing to binge watch 13 scariest movies in a span of 10 days (this Halloween).

Rs 95K for a movie marathon? We are clearly in the wrong profession.

The company, Financebuzz is a financial independence website that wants to discover if the budget of a horror movie impacts the heart rate of the viewer and how “dread-inducing” it can be.

The release from the company said, “In honor of the upcoming spooky season, we at FinanceBuzz are dying to know whether or not high-budget horror movies deliver stronger scares than low-budget ones.”

The movies the analyst would be required to watch are Saw, Amityville Horror, A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place Part 2, Candyman, Insidious, The Blair Witch Project, Sinister, Get Out, The Purge, Halloween (2018), Paranormal Activity and Annabelle.

These are some of the classic Hollywood horror movies which are on everyone’s Halloween watchlist.

The ‘horror movie heart rate analyst’ needs to watch all the spookiest movies on the list from October 9 to October 18. Their heart rate would be monitored using the Fitbit while watching each film.

The purpose of this experiment is backed by the fact that the scariest and most terrifying movies do not have to be big-budget, sometimes, the scary story makes it more spine-chilling than the expensive CGI and sound effects.

Honestly, a message reading ‘based on true events’ in the end is enough for it to keep us awake at night.

The applicant signing up for the gig needs to be 18 years of age (obviously) and have a free calendar from 9th to 18th October.

A brave cinephile who loves a horror movie marathon is a plus.
