Bihar Man Refuses To Return Rs 5.5 Lakh Credited To Account By Mistake, Says PM Modi Sent It

Imagine one day your account gets credited with money and not just in thousands but in lakhs. A similar incident happened with Ranjit Das from Bakhtiyarpur village. This man, who hails from Bihar's Khagaria district, got a whopping amount of Rs 5.5 lakh in his account. He earned this amount by an error from the Gramin Bank as per an IANS report.

He was under the notion that PM Modi had promised Rs 15 lakh to everyone as per reports. He also believed that the cash would be deposited in people's accounts, and considered this the first instalment from PM Modi.

Das said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi deposited the money, and he would not return it, as he had already spent the amount and was left with no balance anymore. He said, "I was very happy when I received the money in March this year. I thought as Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised every one of depositing Rs 15 lakh in their bank account, I thought that it could be the first installment of it. I have spent all the money. Now, I do not have money in my bank account."

Ranjit Das was later arrested for the same. As per Mansi Station House Officer Deepak Kumar, Ranjit was detained on the grounds of a complaint registered by the Gramin bank, and an investigation is currently underway.

There was another case in which a Bihar-based sculptor designed a small statue of Narendra Modi. This could in turn be used for storing money. Jai Prakash from Muzaffarpur thought of this at the time of Janata Curfew last year. The storage could hold up to Rs 1 Lakh, both coins and cash. He also added that this miniature of PM Modi would inspire the kids to become like him and said that he is "the best in the world".

"I felt that he has been making efforts to save the country. I decided to make it to save money." Prakash said.
