Whether you follow Bigg Boss or not, you have to agree that for a lot of people, the show is perhaps the most entertaining piece of television they have ever witnessed.
With Salman Khan returning to host the 15th season of the show from this week on, desi Twitter woke up to a rather bizarre surprise.

A few netizens are going ham with the hashtag “#BoycottBiggBoss15 '' and that too for a host of reasons.
While one may think that these people are targeting the trashy and voyeuristic elements of the show and the unnecessary drama that is shoved down the audience's throat as entertainment, that, however, is not the case.

Here are some bizarre reasons why Salman Khan & Bigg Boss Season 15 have become the latest target for the boycott brigade:

It’s time show them power. It’s a chance to break their tower #BoycottBiggBoss15 https://t.co/vff8SaD8xn
— sushantjustice (@sushantjustice7 October 2, 2021As per a few reports, Salman is set to make over Rs 350 Crores by hosting Bigg Boss this year.
This, compounded with the fact that Salman clearly is one of the most recognisable faces of Bollywood, is not sitting well with a lot of people who have started showing resentment towards the Hindi film industry.

Furthermore, there is also the fact that Salman’s philanthropic efforts are largely seen by these people as a PR exercise and just stunts to clean up his image, which also doesn’t help him.

It was also reported that the makers of the show had approached Rhea Chakraborty for the show, and had offered to pay her about Rs 35 Lakhs a week.

This clearly did not go down well with a lot of people, given the fact that there is a large section of our society who still hold her responsible for Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
3. The 'Justice For SSR' BrigadeIf you ever loved Sushant Singh Rajput, you will not support Bigg Boss 15.
The extent of hysteria and upheaval that happened post his demise, today someone is earning 350 crores, someone is being called on show for TRPs. Shame.#NeverForget 14 June 2020#BoycottBiggBoss15
The online community that was mobilised after Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has increasingly been hostile towards the Hindi film industry, and any established or “insider” actor for quite some time now.
if a word against Sushant Singh Rajput is said , we will lose all our patience and you'll see what we are capable of #BoycottBiggBoss15 criminals protection show#BoycottBollywood #JusticeForSushantSinghRajput https://t.co/WqpinvEJyP
— SushantTheLegend (@ssrthe_legend October 2, 2021While this community has pretty much boycotted anything and everything that has to do with the Bollywood establishment, the fact that Salman is getting such a hefty paycheck, and the fact that Rhea was approached for the show, clearly aggravated things for them.
4. The Xenophobes#BoycottBiggBoss15

This is where logic actually goes for a toss.
We will just let the Tweet speak for itself, but one thing to note, neither Shah Rukh Khan nor Aamir Khan, have anything to do with the show.
With all this being said, there were a few sane members, who actually gave all this a light turn.
