Akshay Kumar, who is among the biggest superstars of Bollywood, is known for completing 4-5 films in a year. He was last seen in Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re which premiered directly on Disney+Hotstar. Now, the latest buzz suggests that another Akshay-starrer is all set to have a direct to digital premiere. Yes, you read that right!

Reportedly, Akshay's upcoming thriller Mission Cinderella, helmed by Ranjit Tiwari, is taking the digital route and will premiere on Disney+Hostar. Producers Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani are rumoured to have sold the film for a huge amount of Rs. 135 crores to the OTT giant.
Revealing the same, a source informed Bollywood Hungama, "Basically, Akshay's acting fees for Mission Cinderella have been recovered from the sale of digital rights. Of course, the amount is not the highest ever for a digital premiere, as the OTT players have slowed down, but it's one of the biggest deals for a direct to digital premiere. The platform is looking to make Mission Cinderella their big Summer 2022 attraction".
The television and music rights have also been pre-sold, netting the creators a profit of around Rs 20 crore on the Mission Cinderella package deal.

Talking about the deal, the source added, "Mission Cinderella isn't exactly a big-screen spectacle which can get the audience on board in big numbers. Both Akshay and the producers know it. On the other hand, the overall budget including Akshay's acting fees was in the range of Rs 175 crore. While the producers did lose out on money in Bell Bottom, they didn't want a deja-vu and hence, after analysing all business models, they finally decided on a direct to digital premiere".
The report states that Mission Cinderella might premiere on Disney+Hostar on Eid. "The whole and sole reason for Mission Cinderella to fetch this money is because of Akshay Kumar, as he is among the biggest names of Bollywood today. If not for Khiladi, a film in a genre similar to Cinderella might have struggled to even get a Rs. 100 crore from OTT," the source concluded.
For the unversed, the upcoming film also stars Rakul Preet Singh.

Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel made their acting debut with the 2000 blockbuster Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai helmed by Rakesh Roshan.
However, a lesser-known fact is that the initial choice for Ameesha Patel’s role in the film was actually Kareena Kapoor.
In fact, the actress was supposed to make her debut with the Hrithik Roshan starrer instead of JP Dutta’s Refugee with Abhishek Bachchan.
That’s not all, she had also filmed for a few scenes before Ameesha replaced her.

Interestingly, there is a long shot in the film that actually features Kareena and not Ameesha.

After Ameesha had come on board as the lead actress there were reports that Kareena decided to opt-out because Rakesh Roshan didn’t give her full narration of the script among other reasons.
Later, in an interview, Rakesh Roshan had revealed that it was his decision to replace Kareena with Ameesha and the reason was the constant interference of her mother Babita.
Talking about it in an interview with The Quint back in 2020, Rakesh stated that they were supposed to start with a song and a set was built at Filmistan Studio.
However, four days before the shooting, Babita contacted Rakesh Roshan and asked him to start with the talkie portion first and shoot the song at a later date.
He said, “Kareena's mother Babita, who I have a lot of respect for, said, ‘Don't begin with a song, she's not ready. Start with dialogues.' I said, ‘No Babita, I think a song is better because she'll be very familiar to the whole unit. It'll be much easier. To say dialogue and to act is a little more difficult than to lip-sync to a song. Of course, we will train her.'”

He continued, “Babita was a little adamant about it. So I said, ‘This way I cannot work because tomorrow you might say, don't do this, don't do that. I think it's better we part ways because we are good friends.' So we parted ways.”

Back in 1998 for an interview with G Magazine, Rakesh had further elaborated on what went wrong between him and Babita that led to Kareena’s ouster from the film.
He had stated then, “It was I who decided to drop her and not the other way round. I can say a lot of things, but don't want to because she's the daughter of my good friend Randhir. Considering Babita has been an actress herself, she should have been professional.
"It's untrue that narration was not given to her. I never sign an artist without a full narration and if she's the heroine of my film, even more so. A complete narration was made three months ago. I wish Babita would not interfere in her daughter's career, for she's harming her more than helping her. Kareena is a newcomer and should be treated like one. She cannot call the shots, just because she's Karisma's sister. In that case, Hrithik can behave like Rakesh Roshan too. Babita demanded that her daughter be given higher billing to my son. How can I do that? I would have done it if Karisma was the heroine. The hero always gets the top billing, particularly when it's a home production.
"Amidst all this tension, I had to leave for Athens to finalise a ship we needed for the shooting. I told them to think over the decision and tell me the answer when I return. When I got back, there was no response. By then I was tired, so I decided that it was best that we parted ways.”

Released on January 14, 2000, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai turned out to be a huge blockbuster while Kareena Kapoor’s debut film Refugee, that released on June 30, 2000, made a record-breaking opening but eventually failed at the box office.

A group of highly-sophisticated cybercriminals have been arrested by the Faridabad police who recently defrauded an export-import firm owned by Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor's father-in-law Harish Ahuja of almost Rs. 27 crores.
According to PTI, on Friday, police said the scammers had been defrauding the Aisha actress' father-in-law's Faridabad-based firm, Shahi Export Factory, by misappropriating Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies licences intended for his company and cashing them using his bogus Digital Signature Certificate.
    View this post on Instagram
After Sunil Ahuja's firm filed a complaint in July last year, the Faridabad police have been working on the case quietly. Since then, nine people have been arrested in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Karnataka, among other places across the country.
Faridabad Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Nitish Agarwal explained the strategy of the incredibly advanced cyber fraud, saying the government provides incentives to export enterprises in the form of ROSCTL licences, which entitle them to a rebate in excise and customs duties. These ROSCTL licences are identical to digital coupons worth several lakh rupees, according to the DCP, who added that the fraudsters had obtained 154 ROSCTLs worth Rs 27.61 crores from Ahuja's firm and had been transferring them to bogus firms and cashing them. They used to get these coupons redeemed by transferring them to other businesses, according to DCP Agarwal.

Sonam Kapoor, who made her Bollywood debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya opposite Ranbir Kapoor in 2007, tied the knot to Harish's son Anand Ahuja in 2018. For the unversed, Anand is an entrepreneur by profession and runs a fashion brand called Bhaane. Reportedly, he also works as a director for his father's firm, recently duped by the scamsters.
Talking about Sonam, she was last seen in a cameo role in the Netflix film AK vs AK, featuring her father Anil Kapoor in lead. She will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh's production venture titled Blind. The Neerja star has already completed the film's shoot. Blind is an adaptation of the 2011 Korean film of the same name and follows a blind cop on the hunt for a serial killer.
Besides Blind, she is yet to announce her next project.

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 approaching, teams have started their preparations and are conducting training camps as they gear up for the 15th edition of the T20 league. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were one of the first teams who started their camp in Surat.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who completely changed their squad for the upcoming season, too began their preparations with a one week camp in Chennai.

With CSK themselves opting to train in Surat, SRH's decision to assemble in Chennai for their training camp left many fans bemused. Baffled with the decision, cricket fans took to Twitter to roast the Hyderabad-based franchise for their move ahead of the IPL.
Why in Chennai when Chennai itself chosen to practice in Surat!?

Ahead of the auction, SRH retained their skipper Kane Williamson and two uncapped Indians in Abdul Samad and Umran Malik.

They also paid over 8 crores each for Washington Sundar and Rahul Tripathi. Apart from signing big names in the auction, SRH have also managed to create a star-studded support staff.

After making regular headlines, Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files was finally released in theatres yesterday (March 11). Starring Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi among others, the film has been receiving rave reviews from critics as well as fans.
A depiction of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency, the movie has been performing well at the domestic box office and is giving a strong competition to Prabhas & Pooja Hegde-starrer Radhe Shyam in the Hindi belts.

According to the tweet of trade analyst Taran Adarsh, The Kashmir Files sprang a big surprise at the box office despite limited release. On the opening day, the film did a business of Rs 3.55 crores, exceeding everyone's expectations. Keeping the audience's response in mind, the movie is expected to witness solid growth on the second and third days.
Adarsh wrote, "#TheKashmirFiles springs a BIGGG SURPRISE on Day 1… Despite limited showcasing [630+ screens], the film goes from strength to strength during the course of the day… Evening and night shows EXTRAORDINARY… SOLID GROWTH on Day 2 and 3 is a surety… Fri ₹ 3.55 cr. #India biz".

Interestingly, The Kashmir Files did better business as compared to the first-day collections of several post-pandemic films featuring several big stars. Below, let's take a look at four biggies that earned less than The Kashmir Files on the first day of release:

Jhund View this post on Instagram
Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Jhund, which was released last week, had a slow start at the box office despite a decent buzz. The biographical-sports film, based on the life of Vijay Barse, marked the Hindi directorial debut of Nagraj Manjule. Despite a good trailer and critical acclaim, the film earned Rs 1.50 crores at the domestic box office on the first day of its release.
Badhaai Do View this post on Instagram
Starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, Badhaai Do was the first notable film to hit the theatres after the third COVID-19 wave. Despite releasing during the Valentine's Day week and positive reviews, the film did a business of Rs. 1.65 crores on its opening day. Currently streaming on Netflix, Badhaai Do revolves around the lavender marriage of Shardul (Rajkummar) and Sumi (Bhumi).

Pushpa: The Rise (Hindi) View this post on Instagram
The Hindi version of Allu Arjun and Rashmuka Mandanna's pan-India release Pushpa: The Rise had a decent start. Despite limited shows/screens and 50% occupancy in Maharashtra, the film collected Rs. 3 crores in the Hindi market and witnessed an increase in the box office collections with each passing day. At the end of its box office run. Pushpa (Hindi) crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark and turned out to be a huge hit. We wonder if The Kashmir Files will be able to break that record or not.
Bunty Aur Babli View this post on Instagram
Despite the sequel factor, Bunty Aur Babli 2 couldn't create ripples at the box office. Starring Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Pankaj Tripathi, and Sharvari Wagh, the film earned Rs. 2.60 crores on its opening day. Overall, it turned out to be a disappointing affair.

Mayank Agarwal’s Test debut in his home town of Bengaluru had the worst possible start any cricketer could have imagined. So much took place within a span of 10 seconds that it took multiple slow-mo reviews for even the third umpire to give his final verdict.
On the 4th ball of the second over which was delivered by Vishwa Fernando, the Sri Lankan side appealed for an LBW appeal against Agarwal. Looking at how casual the fielders were around the ball, Agarwal decided to sneak in a cheeky single.
A loud LBW appeal, but it turned out to be a NO BALL. But it didn't matter for Sri Lanka as Mayank Agarwal tried to sneak a single there and got run out.
    — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) March 12, 2022
However, the Indian skipper and his opening partner, Rohit Sharma was not prepared to go for the run and was caught by surprise at the image of Mayank racing towards the pitch. Although Sharma did get out of his crease and took a couple of steps towards the other end of the pitch, he eventually decided how to go all the way and risk his wicket.
By the time Sharma refused to run, Agarwal was well out of his crease and there was no going back. Lankan keeper Niroshan Dickwella calmly ripped the bails off while still being confused about what had happened.
    pic.twitter.com/VX4FhfAQv3
    — Bully Maguire 𓃵 (@BullyMaguire_69) March 12, 2022
To rub salt on Agarwal’s wound, it was eventually shared by the third umpire that the delivery that Fernando had bowled was an illegal one as he had over-stepped and the umpire called it a no-ball. This essentially meant that even if the LBW was legitimate, it would have not led to Agarwal’s wicket because it was on a no-ball.
Adding even more insult to injury, the replays showed that even the LBW was not accurate as Agarwal’s bat had clearly touched the ball even before it hit the pads.
While a lot of fans were upset with Agarwal’s hasty decision to sneak a single this early in the match and that too in red-ball cricket, others simply blamed Sharma for not being ready and causing the local lad to lose his wicket because of his lack to ability to stay attentive:
    Why Rohit Sharma ?

Why do you not want your partner will score higher than you ?

    That's a big issue here ?

In every series, his partner got out becoz of him
