If you think about the crazy action movies and comedy in Bollywood, you know there is one actor who is unmatched in both those genres. Akshay Kumar!

The Dilli-ka-Munda made his debut way back in the 80s, and coming into the industry as an outsider, has done exceptionally well. He's cemented his place as Bollywood's elite and now commands the highest salary that Bollywood has to offer.

Akki is a blockbuster-getter, which means that whatever he touches sure turns to gold, and this is the reason why he always has so many offers in a year.

All of us almost see the actor deliver 4-5 movies in a calendar year, meaning that he's swamped with work all the time.
Recently Kriti Sanon, who's worked with Akshay on a lot of projects and will be seen with him in Bachchan Pandey, joked about the actor being so busy.

“We had to remind him (Akshay) which film he is coming for here,” said Kriti, while suggesting that the actor must be confused because he does so many films simultaneously.

However, Akshay's reply was, “I already have 5 films ready (for release).”
Akshay, while speaking on why and how he does back-to-back films, said, “I have 5 films ready and the shooting for the sixth will begin soon after this film (Bachchan Pandey) releases. I’ll start my next from 19th.”

“I get surprised when people ask me ‘Tum itne filme karta hai?’ I look at them in surprise and wonder, ‘Toh mai aur kya karu? Subey utke kaam pe hi jaana hai.Yehi kaam kar rahe hai. Isme samaj mein nahi aata isme nayi kya baat hai? Tum log bolte ho ‘tum 4 baje uthe ho.’ Arey toh subey na utho toh aur kab utthu? (Log kehte hai) tum parties mein nahi jaata – nahi jaata, maan nahi karta. Subah uthna, kaam karna, Sunday ko chutti leta hu – aisa hi karte rahoge toh aapke filme banti jayegi. Aap karte jaoge kaam.

“Everybody is working for their daily bread. Mai aaram se baith sakta hu ghar par. Bhagwaan ka diya hua sab kuch hai, saare kamayi kar chuka hu. Aaj bhi agar mai baith jao toh kuch kamane ki zarurat nahi hai. Lekin unka (cameramen and others dependent on him making films) kya?”
However, to everyone's shock, Akshay even spoke on his potential retirement from films altogether.
“Aadmi ko kaam karta rehna chahiye. Ab kaam isliye nahi hai ki paiso ke liye kar raha hu, maaza aata hai, aacha lagta hai, passion rehta hai. Mai uss din kaam chod dunga jab raat ko, sone se pehle lagega ki ‘Arey, subey utke kaam pe jaana hai.’ Uss din mai kahunga, ‘Ab mai bandh kar raha hu.’ Till that feeling doesn’t come I’ll continue working.” said Akshay.
Honestly, we don't want that day to ever come.
Thankfully, Akshay will soon be seen in Prithviraj, Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan, OMG 2, and Mission Cinderella, and we can watch all of them.
