S Sreesanth, a fast bowler who played 27 Tests, 53 ODIs, and 10 T20Is for India, has declared his retirement from all forms of domestic cricket in India. Sreesanth took two wickets in the first two matches for Kerala in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. On Wednesday, the 39-year-old pacer revealed the reasons for his decision in a series of tweets and a short video on the microblogging site Twitter.
"It has been an honour to represent my family, my teammates and the people of India. Nd everyone who loves the game. With much sadness but without regret, I say this with a heavy heart: I am retiring from the Indian domestic (first class and all formats) cricket," he tweeted.

    — Sreesanth (@sreesanth36) March 9, 2022ICC has been a tremendous honor. During my 25 years career as a Cricket player, I've always pursued success and winning cricket games, while preparing and training with the highest standards of competition, passion and perseverance. It has been an honor to represent my family,
    — Sreesanth (@sreesanth36) March 9, 2022For the next generation of cricketers..I have chosen to end my first class cricket career. This decision is mine alone, and although I know this will not bring me happiness, it is the right and honorable action to take at this time in my life. I ve cherished every moment .
    — Sreesanth (@sreesanth36) March 9, 2022Always considered to be one of the most emotional cricketers to have played for the Indian cricket team, the Kerala-born has expressed his true feelings about whatever situations he has found himself in in the past. And it is this honesty of his that made the fans of the Indian cricket reunite and bid adieu to the 39-year old.
Sreesanth is widely regarded as one of the most entertaining Indian cricketers of all time. In 2005, he broke onto the scene, attracting notice with his abrasiveness and unusual-yet-warming mannerisms at the delivery point.

He was present at a few pivotal times in Indian cricket history. To begin with, most fans would remember Sreesanth's bat twirl hip-thrust dance after hitting Andre Nel for a six in Johannesburg during India's tour of South Africa in 2006.
Sreesanth became part of Indian cricketing legend a few months later, in September 2007, when he made one of the most important catches of his life in the first-ever T20 World Cup final. With the game on the line, Pakistan's Misbah-ul-Haq attempted an adventurous scoop but only managed to chip it in the air. With the entire world watching, Sreesanth held on to the catch, and India won the prized trophy.

After being accused of spot-fixing during the 2013 IPL season, flashy bowler Sreesanth was banned for life. Last year, his sentence was reduced to seven years, allowing him to return to cricket. On the field, Sreesanth was also involved in several bizarre situations.
He will also be remembered for generations, whether it was for getting slapped by Harbhajan Singh during an IPL 2008 game or for rattling the Aussies with his toe-crushing yorkers to knock off Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden's stumps, followed by pitch-slapping celebrations.

On Wednesday, batsman Sachin Tendulkar praised the Marylebone Cricket Club's (MCC) decision to remove run-out at the non-striker’s end from unfair play laws, but experienced England pacer Stuart Broad criticised the decision as "unfair".
The MCC, as the custodian of cricket laws, has chosen to relocate the law dealing with non-end striker's run-outs from its "unfair play" section. It refers to hitters backing up too far at the non-striker’s end which has frequently sparked heated discussions about the spirit of the game.

Several players, including Ravichandran Ashwin, India's top off-spinner, have argued that it is a fair method of dismissal. However, Tendulkar has always objected to the term "Mankaded" being used to describe his dismissal.
The MCC committee introduced new rules in cricket, and he was supportive of a handful of them. ‘Mankading dismissal’ is the first one. Tendulkar expressed his displeasure with the term "Mankaded" being used to describe his dismissal.
Cricket is a beautiful sport. It allows us to challenge existing norms and help refine laws of the game. Some of the changes introduced by MCC are praiseworthy.#CricketTwitter pic.twitter.com/bet0pakGQM

In a video shared by his from his official Twitter handle, the Indian legend expressed his delight at the move to a clear and basic run-out, claiming that it should have always been run out in his opinion. He also stated that he was not at ease with everything, but that would no longer be the case.
Englishman Broad, on the other hand, called the MCC's decision to legalise 'Mankading,' a run-out dismissal at the non-end, striker's "unfair," claiming it needs "zero skill."

There were some other changes made by the MCC that the International Cricket Council (ICC) are likely to accept and include in their own rule books.
For instance, until now, any fielder who moved in an unsportsmanlike manner was simply given a 'Dead ball,' potentially cancelling a perfectly executed shot by the batter. The batting team will now be awarded 5 penalty runs because the action was both unjust and intentional.
The new rules also make it illegal to use spit on the ball, removing any potential grey areas that could exist if fielders ate sugary sweets and then altered their saliva to apply to the ball. The use of saliva will be treated the same as any other unethical method of modifying the state of the ball.
