It was with the 2015 release of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning that Prabhas gained nationwide recognition and post the release of its sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, he became a nationwide phenomenon, a true blue pan-India star.
Such is his box office pull across the regions that a film like Saaho which was panned by critics went on to earn over Rs 150 crore in Hindi.
It was after the success of Prabhas’ films that this whole fad of “Pan-India Films” started going around. In the last few years, we have seen a lot of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam movies opting for pan-India releases but only a few found success.
    © T-Series
These include the likes of 2.0, KGF: Chapter 1 and the recently released Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise.

Soon after Pushpa: The Rise, a lot of South Indian films opted for pan-Indian releases like Ravi Teja starrer Khiladi and Ajith starrer Valimai. But these films joined the long list of pan-India failures and turned out to be huge disasters in Hindi markets.
There were also reports that Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati starrer Bheemla Nayak will also release in Hindi and even a Hindi dubbed trailer was dropped online but it seems the makers decided not to go ahead with the plan seeing the results of Khiladi & Valimai.
Now, the man who started it all is returning with his period romantic drama Radhe Shyam and the expectations from the film are huge.
    © T-Series
So much so, that recently, film’s sound designer Resul Pookutty stated that the climax of Radhe Shyam is even bigger than Titanic.

As Radhe Shyam is up for a March 11 release in theatres will Prabhas work his magic once again and end South Indian films’ dry run at the box office in Hindi belts? The expectations are sky high!

Not just the audience and the critics, even celebs like Aamir Khan and Dhanush expressed their love for the Nagraj Manjule directorial.
Aamir, in particular, was seen teary-eyed after the film ended and called it a masterpiece and termed it one of the best performances of Amitabh Bachchan’s career.

Over the first five days of its release, Jhund has collected Rs 9 crore at the box office.

From a simple West Delhi boy to becoming the most popular cricketer on the planet, Virat Kohli has come a long way. Through his consistent performances in the last one decade, the former India skipper has established himself as one of the greatest cricketers of his generation.
Apart from his world-class batting, the 33-year-old is also known for his aggression. He is a player who wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn’t shy away from giving it back to the opponents.
    © Reuters
His heroics on the field have earned him the fame and money that he perhaps never dreamt of but that hasn’t changed him one bit.

Due to his on-field aggression, he has been at the receiving end of severe criticism. To the people who only know him as ‘Kohli – the cricketer’, he might come across as a brash and short-tempered individual but that’s not who he is in his personal life.
    © Twitter BCCI
Despite having attained so much success, the Delhi-born cricketer continues to be the same old Kohli. His hair and beard might have gone grey, but he still enjoys playing pranks whenever he is around his friends and former teammates.

The fact that Kohli hasn’t changed at all in all these years came as a pleasant surprise to his former teammate Pradeep Sangwan, who met with him during a function recently.
    © Reuters
Sangwan, who has known Kohli since he was a teenager, shared that when the two of them met with each other at the function, he had expected him to behave differently than how he used to back in the days due to his stature in world cricket.

To his surprise, Kohli was still the same, at least in front of his close friends. According to the former pacer, the only change he noticed was that Kohli behaved in a sophisticated manner in front of his wife Anushka Sharma but as soon as left, he became his old self and began cracking jokes and playing pranks. The moment Anushka came back, he switched to being a “nice boy” once again.
    © Reuters
“I met him recently in some function, mujhe laga change hua hoga (I assumed that he would have changed). As soon as Anushka crossed over to other side of the room, bhai chalu ho jaate (he starts with his pranks). The moment his wife returned, he became a nice boy. As soon as his wife went to meet someone, Delhi ka Virat Kohli was back to talking in the same old style,” Sangwan told Indian Express.

Becoming successful is not easy. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and perseverance. Kohli did all of that in his early days and is now reaping the rewards.

What’s even harder is how to handle this success and not allow it to get over your head. It seems like Kohli has cracked this code.

Pan-India star Prabhas, who is currently waiting for the release of Radhe Shyam, will also be seen playing the lead role in Prashanth Neel's upcoming film Salaar. It is among the most-awaited pan-India releases and stars Shruti Haasan opposite the Baahubali actor. Touted as an action-thriller, the film will be released in multiple languages.
    View this post on Instagram
Prabhas will be seen in a beefed-up look in Salaar which is already making headlines due to its unprecedented action scenes. The team wants to make it the biggest action-thriller and is shooting the film on a huge scale. According to the latest buzz, the movie will also have a chase and fight scene at sea and the makers have shot it on a lavish scale.
According to a News18 report, the production team of the film has spent nearly Rs. 20 crore on this single action scene. Well, that's huge!
However, the makers are yet to confirm the same.
    View this post on Instagram
Interestingly, post the mega success of Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's Pushpa: The Rise, the makers of Salaar too are rumoured to be thinking about releasing the film in two parts. The first part is expected to hit the theatres later this year while work on the second instalment is rumoured to begin next year.

For the unversed, Prashant followed the same trend with the KGF series. While KGF: Chapter 1 was released in 2018, the second part is slated to hit the theatres on April 14.
There are also speculations that OTT giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are interested in acquiring the digital rights of Salaar. As per the rumours, the OTT players are offering as much as Rs. 200 crores to the film's production team for its digital rights.
Produced by Vijay Kirgandur of Hombale films, Salaar has been shot simultaneously in Telugu and Kannada and will reportedly be dubbed in Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam.

Kuldeep Yadav, the left-arm spinner who did not make the playing XI against Sri Lanka in the first Test, has been dropped from the Test team ahead of the second Test in Bengaluru. After another left-arm spinner, Axar Patel passed his fitness test and joined the Indian team ahead of the impending day-night Test, the choice was made.
After the T20I series against the touring Sri Lankan side in Lucknow and Dharamshala, Kuldeep was requested to stay back as an emergency backup after not being part of the original 18-man team.
    View this post on Instagram
Despite the fact that the team headed into Mohali with three spinners, Kuldeep failed to make the cut and was seen carrying drinks as Jayant Yadav, along with the two seniors Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, was favoured.
While players get dropped from the international side all the time, the situation has been particularly bad for Yadav due to various other reasons impacting him and his career simultaneously.
Players in new BCCI Central Contract:

    Promoted:
    Shreyas, Axar, Siraj - C to B.
    Surya - got a contract of C.

    Demoted:
    Shikhar Dhawan - A to C.
    Hardik Pandya - A to C.
    Rahane, Pujara, Ishant - A to B.
Saha, Mayank, Umesh, Bhuvi B to C.

    Kuldeep and Saini - Dropped.
    — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) March 2, 2022
Ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka, the Indian cricket board had released the list of Indian cricketers who would be getting an annual contract as Team India members and Yadav’s name was dropped from the list.
The fact that he was on national duty and therefore had to be away from the bio-bubble for Ranji trophy also means that he will not be able to join the Uttar Pradesh side until June when the second leg of the domestic season will presume (considering Uttar Pradesh qualifies for the post-season).
    View this post on Instagram
Furthermore, he will also act as a reserve player for Delhi Capitals in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League and would therefore not be able to be a part of the Playing XI for the Rishabh Pant-led squad.
Upon the ‘Chinaman’ facing yet another disappointing snub, his fans were completely disheartened and had nothing but sympathy for the 27-year old:
Just a BCCI thing. Kuldeep didn't play Test, didn't play Ranji. Now can't play any first class till June and is not a starter in IPL... How to kill a player
    — Amit (@nottheamit) March 8, 2022He has been mishandled for the last 3 years both by KKR and ICT. Very unfortunate for kuldeep.
    — Pritam Datta (@PritamDatta88) March 8, 2022Yes, the selectors will have 2 two rt arm off spinners or 2 lt arm spinners in the playing 11. But they will NOT give Kuldeep a chance! Not sure why. Its a vicious cycle now - he doesnt get a chance to play so he doesnt perform well when he does and so he doesnt get to play!
    — Sundar Viswam (@viswamsundar) March 8, 2022Perfect.!! He didn't play a test still thrown out of the team this is beyond science..
    — Rushikesh Panzade (@rushipanzade98) March 8, 2022They brought him back saying that he will be an asset and add variety in bowling. Played him for couple of games and now shown the door.. Absolutely ridiculous..and we thought things will change under Rahul and @ImRo45 @BCCI
    — Just sayin.. (@Bannuwadi) March 8, 2022Last year, before the B-String of the Indian cricket team, had left for Sri Lanka, Yadav had spoken to MensXP about the pressure of matching great expectations despite being offered very limited chances to prove himself. The cricketer had spoken about self-doubt, uncertainty and the difficulties of trying to stay motivated through these downtimes.
“I feel that there are instances when things don't go as planned and you begin to doubt yourself; these ideas are very acceptable and are a natural human propensity,” Yadav had said after not being picked to be a part of the Playing XI during IPL 2021. “I feel bad because I start believing that I should play, especially since there are no senior players and half of your team is absent. You don't have a chance there, which makes you feel horrible because everyone is talking about you and saying things like ‘he should play’,” he added.

The situation in Ukraine is grim, it’s the 14th day into war as Russia continues to invade Ukraine. People are scrambling to get out of the country and those who aren’t, are picking up arms to support their country and fight for their homeland.
At this time, sitting here, not much is in our hands. However, what is, is evacuating students and people who are stuck in Ukraine. And while ideally, the focus is on evacuating Indians, in times of crisis like this, nationality doesn’t matter, for the Indian embassy helped evacuate Pakistanis stuck in Ukraine, just the same.
    © Twitter/ANI
Reminding us of Tiger Zinda Hai, where both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif work together to rescue not just Indians but also Pakistani, a video of a Pakistani student Asma Shafique has gone viral, where she thanks the Indian embassy in Kyiv, to help her escape to the western part of Ukraine, from where she can further leave the country, to be finally reunited with her family.

#WATCH | Pakistan's Asma Shafique thanks the Indian embassy in Kyiv and Prime Minister Modi for evacuating her.

The ANI video shows her dressed in a hijab, thanking the embassy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their efforts and mentions how none of this would have been made possible, had it not been for the Indian embassy.
It is heartening to see that at times like these, when tragedy and terror are striking left, right and Center, our country is not backing down in offering support in ways that it can.
The thing that breaks my heart is how thankless and rude was our students' behavior towards our own government. I don't know why they were expecting a 5-star treatment in such vulnerable conditions where people where struggling to save their lives. This is saddening.

    — Sa M (@SaNxT__mO) March 9, 2022 However, at the same time, several people are hailing the girl’s video as an example to show to the Indian students, who according to them, were far less grateful for being rescued and evacuated.
One person commented, “The thing that breaks my heart is how thankless and rude was our students' behavior towards our own government. I don't know why they were expecting a 5-star treatment in such vulnerable conditions where people where struggling to save their lives. This is saddening.”

The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has sought to reinterpret the legislation relating to run-outs on the non-striker's end while the bowler is in the middle of his bowling action - otherwise and popularly known as 'Mankading' – as part of a slew of other amendments to the game's rules.
'Mankading' was previously considered an unfair method of dismissal, but it has since been relocated to Law 38, which deals with run-outs. The law's text, on the other hand, remains unchanged.

One of the biggest advocates of Mankading in recent times, Ravichandran Ashwin has used the technique to run-out a couple of batters in both international cricket and within the Indian Premier League (IPL). On multiple occasions, the Indian all-rounder has also issued warnings to the opposition to stay within the crease while he was bowling or else he would not hesitate in ripping the bails off.
Ashwin has also spoken about how he “would do it again” if he could the opportunity to dismiss the non-striker without a lot of extra effort.
With the change in the cricket rules, fans are complimenting Ashwin for literally changing the game by sticking to what he believed it and playing the sport while being well aware of all the knowledge around it:

Every One Know that Kapil Dev ManKaded Peter Kirsten in Tour Of South Africa 1992-93 & @therealkapildev looks angry after that. But Not many knew that He Warned Kirsten In Game 1 that's why he Out him in Game 2 & show his aggression on batsmen.

Other major changes introduced by the MCC in 2022Laws 27.4 and 28.6 - Unfair movement by the fielding side Until now, any member of the fielding team who moved in an unsportsmanlike manner was merely penalised with a 'Dead ball,' potentially cancelling a perfectly good batter's hit. Because the action was both unjust and purposeful, the batting side will now be awarded 5 penalty runs.
Law 38.3 - moving the running out of the non-striker Law 41.16 (Running out the non-striker) has been changed from Law 41 (Unfair Play) to Law 38 (Runout). The Law's text remains unchanged.
    Law 41.3 - No saliva
When cricket resumed after Covid-19, most forms of the game had playing restrictions written in them that stated that saliva on the ball was no longer permitted. According to the MCC's studies, this had little or no effect on the amount of swing the bowlers received. Sweat was used by players to polish the ball, and it worked just as well.
The new rules prohibit the use of saliva on the ball, which eliminates any grey areas that could arise from fielders consuming sugary sweets and altering their saliva to apply to the ball. The use of saliva will be treated the same as any other unethical approach of altering the ball's condition.
Law 1 - Replacement players The addition of a new provision, Law 1.3, clarifies that replacements are to be considered as if they were the player they replaced, inheriting any sanctions or dismissals incurred during the match.
Law 18 - Batters returning when Caught Law 18.11 has been altered such that, after a batter is Caught out, the new batter comes in at the end the striker was at, i.e. to face the next ball. This was first trialled by the ECB in The Hundred at the recommendation of MCC (unless it is the end of an over).
Law 20.4.2.12 - Dead ballThe Dead ball Law has been updated in the current version, with the most major modification being the ability to call Dead ball if either team is disadvantaged by a person, animal, or another object on the field of play.
Outside interference can range from a pitch invader to a dog running onto the field; if this occurs and has a significant impact on the game, the umpires will call and indicate a Dead ball.

When it comes to social media activities, there are only a couple of Indian Premier League franchises that do a great job of maintaining high-quality engagement with their followers.
Rajasthan Royals are without a doubt one of these teams and commonly carry out some brilliant social media campaigns to keep their fans interested and entertained.
On Women’s Day, 2022, the inaugural champions of the Indian T20 league posted a couple of pictures from their official Twitter account in which on one side, team captain Sanju Samson could be seen holding a placard that read “I am a batter*” and on the other side, one of the fans of the squad could be seen holding a placard that read “She can be a mother and play too”.

Many of the followers of the Rajasthan squad were happy with the campaign and complimented the content creators at the franchise for talking about social matters with the hopes of bringing a sense of equality within the community.
If IPL was solely decided on Social media impact, RR won like 5-6 IPL titles already. These gestures go a long way! Keep up the game RR

Many felt that in promoting the strengths of a woman, the franchise was casting a shadow on how men also have their own set of responsibilities that can make life to them equally challenging.

    — Dad (@Dad6354) March 8, 2022Empowering women and speaking in favour of them with the ideology of bringing social equality is something every person should abide by and aspire to have. The problem occurs when unfair and ignorant comparisons begin.
Just a couple of days ago, the picture of the Pakistani women’s captain Bismah Maroof went viral in which she had arrived for the World Cup 2022 match against India with her baby in her arms. It was a powerful statement about how Maroof was playing the role of a mother and an athlete and that was enough for people to commend her strengths as a woman without making any sort of comparison to men.

In the modern era, on numerous occasions, men and their struggles often get ignored and belittled in the name of women's empowerment. Take the example of the Rajasthan Royals’ video that they had published on Twitter on the occasion of International Men’s Day back in 2020.
This #InternationalMensDay, some respect for those who stepped out of their comfort zone, to set a strong example for men all over the world.

Much like celebrating women-empowerment on Women’s Day, the idea should have been to talk about the wellness of men on Men’s Day.
However, the video was about what these men would have done if they woke up one day and realised that they would also get periods like women. None of the questions that Robin Uthappa asked (or was made to ask by the marketing team) revolved around men’s wellness and only circulated around menstruation.
This is but one example of how in the process of women-empowerment, men have been constantly getting ignored across platforms, society and in life and it is important to realise that.

Marvel Studios' films just cannot help themselves from giving away spoilers or things to expect from in the movies.

As if the Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield leak in No Way Home just before the release of the film back in December wasn't enough, it looks like they have another big leak on their hands.

Now, if you've been following the Marvel franchise in recent times, you'll know that Marvel wants to unite the forces of the Avengers, other superheroes under the Marvel banner, as well as the X-Men, which was a property of Fox Studios not so long ago.

    © Disney+ Hotstar
Yep! There was a crazy big deal that involved Disney buying Fox Studios, meaning that now they had the rights to a lot of properties previously owned by Fox.

This in turn meant that X-Men and Fantastic Four were finally coming to Disney and under Marvel Studios.
If you hadn't seen characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, and Mister Fantastic, well, now, you can with the acquisition.

Now, how do you integrate or united such superheroes from different universes in one movie without failing to make it seem strange?

Well, there's your answer. You do something 'Strange'! (Get it? Get it? Okay. Fine)
After Tom Holland's No Way Home that opened the Multiverse, Dr. Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is the platform which is set to do just that.
