Singer Shaan has been a contemporary icon of Bollywood and Indian Independent Music, with his longevity spanning several decades now, having crooned his way into our hearts with hits like Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan, Kuch Toh Hua Hai, and Tanha Dil among various other notable songs.
Back in 2021, when India was reeling from wave after wave of the Covid pandemic, the 90s crooner took to social media in an attempt to reach out and assuage folks via his Instagram live sessions.

While Shaan’s intentions were just to entertain people with his mellifluous voice through songs and conversations, he ended up courting controversy with one of his sessions. Rap fans came down hard on the singer for allegedly saying that the popular genre of music was in some way inferior to other forms.

Soon after, Shaan went on to clarify his stance on this entire controversy through another Instagram live. He waxed lyrical on his appreciation for music by artists like Yo Yo Honey Singh and Raftaar, informing the audiences that he’s worked with some of the finest rappers and musicians that our country has to offer, and that he had nothing but respect for them.

However, what this particular video also offered us was an insight into the way the mind of the average internet user works. Social Media has empowered us in so many ways - from giving access to information and education to the masses to overturning social injustices and pushing our boundaries of creativity as well. However, among the list of positives, it has also managed to deceptively breed a certain abrasive entitlement amongst the mass junta. It’s the price we’ve paid for the world of instant gratification we live in.

In the complete version of the video, The Tanha Dil singer calls out some of the vile abuses and trolling hurled at him while he attempted to interact with his fans and other attendees, “Never in my life have I had to listen to such kinds of abuses. Why are you doing this? What kind of mentality is this?” It’s obviously disheartening to see a Bollywood music legend not being treated with even a modicum of respect (that everyone should be entitled to), but what we’re now observing among each other at large is that even when without the crutch of anonymity, we have gotten emblazoned enough to go out of our way and hurl insults at others, and then nonchalantly going about our day, having ruined someone else’s.
We obviously don’t live in a utopian society. In the world we live, curse words do find their relevance in daily parlance. Perhaps, one could even argue their importance even, as they do allow humans to express themselves more freely. But, as they say, there’s a time and place for everything. And just perhaps unloading a plethora of concocted desi gaalis onto an unsuspecting artist (or you know human being?) may not be the best way to use the internet that we’ve gotten accustomed to.

The only rule in the world of dating today is that there is no rule. You go with the flow, swipe left  & right and date a bunch of people before you find the one (if that’s what you want). Yeah, sorry to break it to you but that’s how men roll. Women have and follow a definite rulebook when it comes to dating.

    © Dharma Productions
Someone asked women on Reddit a question men would want to know the answer to. They wrote, “What are "strange" or unconventional rules you've set for yourself when it comes to dating?” We are sure it was a woman who put up this question because all the men reading it would have gone like “You guys have dating rules’?

To make the lives of men easier (that’s basically what we do here) and for them to understand women a bit better, here is the cheat code to woo your date from the horse’s mouth.

    1. Setting The Priorities Straight“I expect orgasms everytime we have *** and 50/50 chores when living together. This is my base line, I do except some romance too. Btw I ask for this because I 100% give that on a relationship.” –Whateveridontkare
    2. Money Matters“I watch and observe how a man spends his money. I would never date anyone who throws money around acting like jack flash. It’s not about whether he has money, it’s about how he deals with money that is important.” –Little-bit_
    © T-Series Films
    3. If He Isn’t Going Down, He’s Going Out“Don’t date a man who doesn’t go down on you” –urminecraftgf98
    4. Not All Women Friendzone“Is it weird that I’ve never dated someone that I wasn’t already friends with beforehand? It’s not quite a rule, but I’ve never once been romantically interested in someone that I didn’t already know on a deeper level no matter how attractive they seemed on the surface.” –strike_match
    5. Translation: I’m Not Into Unambitious Guys“I don't date men who don't have goals.” –Unknown
    © Eros International
    6. Swipe Left On Men Who Don’t Put In Efforts“I immediately delete all initial messages on OkCupid/Tinder/etc. that don't specifically mention something from my profile. This includes deleting all messages that just say "Hi," "Hey," "How's it going," etc. My rationale is that these people are putting the lowest possible amount of effort into online dating, and I don't have any desire to date or have *** with people who don't put effort into those endeavors.” –elestialism
    7. And, To Sum Up The Rulebook“Make plans to meet in person as soon as possible, but don't be weird about it
Don't text back more than the other person texts you.
Only meet for drinks/coffee on a first date
Don't date moderates they are republicans
    Never settle” –justinlongbranch

Women reading this would agree and men are now wiser. You’re welcome.

American rapper Eminem or Marshall Mathers III is known as the father of rap!

His own life story has so much drama that there is already a lot based on it.
Talking about his personal life, his overall success in an industry where the odds were always stacked against him, Eminem is truly one person who does what he wants by saying what he wants.
We mean this in terms of the lyrics used in most of his rap songs.
The multiple Grammy award-winning artist is known to say the most explicit of things in the songs that he writes and performs.
But did you know, one of his songs actually had references to India and even Mahatma Gandhi?
    © Reuters
    © Reuters
    Yep! You heard it right!

Eminem sang a superhit song that had connections with the freedom fighter in it, with the rapper actually stating that he had a part of Gandhi in him.
The song was actually the Venom song that is used in Tom Hardy's superhero movie of the same name.
    © Sony Pictures
In the title track of the movie, the lyrics go like this,

“Threw the car into reverse at the Indy, end up crashing…Into ya, the back of it — just mangled steel My Mustang and your Jeep Wrangler grill…With the front smashed, much as my rear fender, assassin… Slim be a combination of an actual kamikaze and Gandhi. Translation, I will probably kill us both… When I end up back in India… You ain’t gonna be able to tell what the f**k’s happening to you…When you’re bit with the…”.
Now, for whoever knows of Eminem, Slim is a short form for his stage name Slim Shady.
In the song, he can clearly be seen stating that he is a 'combination of Kamikaze and (Mahatma) Gandhi'.
Kamikaze is actually a World War II reference to a Japanese aircraft loaded with explosives and making a deliberate suicidal crash on an enemy target.
I mean, while rap songs are often abstract and may not have a concrete meaning or intention behind them, a rapper like Eminem using India's reference in his song is clearly something very interesting.
Maybe, it could be a sign that the rapper actually ends up coming to India and performing here, which would settle really well with the fans here.
Oh yeah! We'd actually love for the Slim Shady to light up a concert here!

To all those men who think it takes as much time to make a woman come as it does to make Maggi, let me break it to you that it is never the case.
And backing us now, apart from our unsatisfied sexual experiences, is a scientific study that may have just figured out the average time it actually takes for a woman to come.
Guys, this is where you take down notes.
    © iStock
A study that was published in The Journal Of Sexual Medicine, conducted by a team from India's Kadave Institute of Medical Sciences has apparently been the first to measure what we call ‘organic latency’, which translates into the gap between feeling aroused and finally climaxing.

    © iStock
And as it turns out, that time is 13 minutes and 25 seconds.

A total of 645 women took part in this study, from across 21 countries. All of these women in the sample size were in monogamous relationships - married or in serious long-term relationships.
A surprising part of this study was also the fact that one out of every six women who climaxed, didn’t actually do it through penetrative ***. Infact, most women have time and again admitted that they feel more aroused and closer to coming when they’re being orally pleasured.
    © iStock
And for those who did end up having an ecstatic ending through penetrative ***, nine out of ten women were able to do it when they were positioned on top.

Seems like this is when you start putting missionary on the back-burner and pick this as your default position, if you want your woman to really orgasm and not just fake it.
Women who would earlier fake orgasms either because they didn’t want to embarrass their partners or because they felt that they will never be able to achieve one, have also started to stop faking it any longer.
    © iStock
And if there is any way you want to make it as worthwhile for your partner as it is for you, the trick is to keep going for a minimum of 13 minutes, so you’re sure to have given her the kind of ‘hard time’ she desires!

The stage is set for the IPL 2022 mega auction as the BCCI released the names of 590 players who would go under the hammer to become a part of the world’s biggest T20 league.
From David Warner to Shreyas Iyer, Kagiso Rabada to Pat Cummins, the auction will decide the fate of some of the biggest names in world cricket.

A bidding war on the cards

Here are the Marquee Players at the #IPLAuction pic.twitter.com/lOF1hBCp8o
    — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) February 1, 2022
With this being a mega auction, fans can expect franchises to go all out to sign the player of their choice, even if that meant breaking all sorts of previous records.
For the last three seasons, Virat Kohli was the most expensive player in the league as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had shelled out Rs 17 crores to make him a part of their squad.

After holding on to this tag for the last three years, the former RCB skipper has already lost this ‘most expensive player’ tag after signing a new contract for a reduced fee of Rs 15 crores.

Ahead of the auction, there are several players who have been handed a more lucrative contract than Kohli. KL Rahul has been signed by Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping Rs 17 crores, while Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja have been retained for Rs 16 crore each by Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings, respectively.

However, these are not the only players who are expected to take home a bigger paycheck than the former India skipper in this year’s IPL, there are several other players who could fetch more money at the mega auction.

Here are the five Indian cricketers who could get a more hefty contract than Kohli
Ishan Kishan View this post on Instagram
The wicketkeeper-batters are always in high demand at the auction, especially those who can bat in the top order. After he couldn’t make it to Mumbai Indians’ retention list, Ishan Kishan had offers from the two new franchises Lucknow and Ahmedabad but he turned both of them down and decided to become a part of the auction.
If he gets going Kishan can torment any bowling attack in the world. The IPL 2020 was a turning point in his career as he earned his maiden Indian call-up after amassing 500 runs in that title-winning campaign. His stocks have risen significantly in the last couple of years and don’t be surprised if several franchises go all out to acquire his services at this year’s auction.
Shreyas Iyer View this post on Instagram
Shreyas Iyer missed the first leg of last year’s IPL due to an injury. He returned for the second phase but didn’t get his captaincy back as Delhi Capitals (DC) decided to carry on with Rishabh Pant as their skipper.
There are several teams like RCB, KKR and Punjab Kings who are in the market for a captain and Iyer, who guided DC to their only IPL final, is the ideal candidate for that role. The 27-year-old has maturity beyond his age and it’s a trait that is not found in many players. Given what he brings to the table, there is a high chance that his name can start a ferocious bidding war among franchises.
Deepak Chahar View this post on Instagram
Players like Deepak Chahar are a rare commodity in Indian cricket. He can open the bowling and is no stranger to using the long handle. His all-round ability is what sets him apart from the rest and the franchises are always ready to shell out extra bucks for a player of his profile.
His previous franchise CSK would do everything in their capacity to sign him back but it won’t be an easy task. In fact, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra feels that given his utility, Chahar should be the most expensive pick at the auction.
Shardul Thakur View this post on Instagram
Shardul Thakur is not known for bowling with the new ball but he does guarantee you four overs. ‘Lord Thakur’, as he is famously called by his supporters, has all sorts of variations in his repertoire which make him even more dangerous.
Apart from his premier skill, Thakur is also known for his big hits. Having a player like him in the Playing XI is always a plus for any franchise as he can turn the tide with both bat and ball. Sides looking for Indian all-rounders, I expect them to bid huge.
Harshal Patel View this post on Instagram
Last year’s IPL completely transformed Harshal Patel’s life. He was traded off to RCB by Delhi Capitals and everything he touched turned into gold. With 32 wickets from just 15 matches, Patel finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker and clinched the Purple Cap.
Bowling in the slog overs is an art and Patel's analysis proved he had mastered that. He doesn’t have express pace but his slower variations are good enough to deceive any world-class batter. The recent performances always play an important role in determining a players’ price at the auction and Patel is definitely going to benefit from that.
