After having done ever so well in Bollywood, Alia Bhatt is finally looking to make her mark in Telugu Cinema as well.
The 28-year-old actress is in line to be making her Telugu movie debut in SS Rajamouli's RRR.
    © DVV Entertainments
So far, Alia, despite being so young, has already experimented with a lot of films, having done Bollywood films like Highway, Student Of The Year, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Raazi, and so many others.

This definitely showcases her exceptional ability to sink any role and do justice to it.
Now, while Bollywood obviously would have come naturally to her, considering she's been born in the industry family, Telugu Cinema as it appears, is a completely different ball game altogether.
However, it certainly looks like Alia has taken up the challenge, and will be looking to prove herself, even more, when RRR finally comes out.
Alia will be seen playing the role of Sita in the movie alongside the star cast of Ajay Devgn, and Telugu stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr., and Ram Charan.

Now, shedding some light on the experiences of working on the sets of the film, Alia told Free Press Journal that there would be times she would be with Ram Charan and Jr NTR, and she would be clueless, as the actors would speak in complete Telugu.

“Jr NTR and Ram were always talking to each other in Telugu in front of me. I used to look like I was watching a tennis ball here and there waiting for someone to translate it for me,” said Alia.
She also opened up on how the pressure of giving her best in the film would make her nervous on the set.
“I was very excited, but I was also very nervous. I had by then known a bit of the Telugu language and had very well studied the given part and mugged up my lines sitting every day with my coach. But at the end of the day, I think maybe in English or Hindi but not in Telugu. I was nervous and wanted to portray my character well and give the right pauses,” she said.

Alia also revealed how working with a director like SS Rajamouli made things easier as he would make her feel comfortable.
“Rajamouli sir had done everything for me. He made it so much easier because he is so clear in what he wants with every line, every shot, and every emotion. And then I was just observing. I was just like an audience watching him perform it, and I would try and imitate him. So then, the emotions were excited to get it right. But once it was done, I was quite sad because my experience with sir was over. Hopefully, I will have another one,” said Alia.
RRR will release on January 7, 2022.

After the big success of Gully Boy in 2019 and his special appearance in the 2021 film Sooryavanshi, Ranveer Singh is returning to the big screen with Kabir Khan’s ambitious cricket-based film 83.

Amidst all that, the cast of the film is leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. Apart from Indian players’ on-field heroics and failures, there was plenty of drama off the field that made headlines throughout the year. But the biggest controversy of the year happened last week when the differences between Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli and the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly became the talk of the town and led to a huge outrage all over the internet.
Unless you’ve been living under the rock, chances are you already know what all transpired between the two legends of the game and many are calling it the biggest cricket controversy of the year.
    © Reuters
How It BeganBefore boarding the specially-arranged chartered flight to South Africa, the 33-year-old cricketer made some shocking revelations during the per-departure press conference, raising many eyebrows.
Apart from clearing the air about various lies that were doing rounds about him in the media, he also went against the former India skipper and publicly refuted his statement made after he was sacked from the ODI captaincy.
    © Reuters
Ganguly had claimed that when Kohli told him that he wanted to step down from the T20I captaincy to manage his workload and to focus on his batting, he had “personally requested” him not to give up the position but he didn’t take his advice.

During the presser, Kohli said nobody ever asked him to not give up T20I captaincy and anyone who claimed that was basically lying. He even rubbished the claims that he was taken into confidence by the BCCI top brass and selectors before being removed from the ODI captaincy.

In this day and age of social media, there is always divided opinions on almost every major issue going on across the globe and this controversy was no different.

Kohli’s fans rallied behind their talisman and questioned the BCCI for lack of transparency, while Dada’s supporters slammed the Indian red-ball skipper saying he couldn't digest the fact was removed from the ODI captaincy for failing to win ICC titles and called him a sore loser.

No matter which side of the coin you are on, most people weren’t pleased with how the matter was handled by both Kohli and Ganguly.

Former India player Kirti Azad, who was part of the national selection panel when Ganguly had a fallout with the then head Gregg Chappell back in 2006, said that he expected Ganguly to learn from his own experience and handle the situation better.
According to Azad, had Ganguly informed Kohli much sooner about their plans going forward, it would have made this transition a lot smoother.

“I remember how Bishan Bedi was dethroned, how Sunil Gavaskar was dethroned. Venkataraghavan was in his flight and when he landed, he was replaced as captain. At least, Sourav should have realised through his own experience,” Azad said on News18.
“I remember I had defended him when Greg Chappell was coach and he was dropped as captain. He should have learnt from his own example and spoken to Virat much earlier. I am not saying Virat is a special case. Yes, he is a special batter and a special cricketer. He leads by example and leads by example,” said the cricketer-turned-politician.

Having led the Indian team for so many years and gone through a similar episode towards the backend of his career, Ganguly should’ve known how it feels when you are sacked from your post without any prior information.

The fact that this whole controversy happened during his tenure is what has left people shell-shocked as people couldn’t believe Ganguly learned nothing from his own experience.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh first worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s  2013 film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, which turned out to be a box office hit earning over Rs 100 crore domestically.
Their second collaboration also came with SLB in the 2015 film Bajirao Mastani. The period drama was an even bigger hit than their previous collaboration. It collected over Rs 180 crore in India.

For their third collaboration, the duo hit it out of the park as the 2018 film Padmaavat, once again helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali went on to earn over Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office.

The one major thing that all these films had in common was their sad endings.
In Ram-Leela, which was an adaptation of Romeo-Juliet and West Side Story, both Ranveer and Deepika kill each other at the end.

In Bajirao Mastani as well, Ranveer playing Peshwa Bajirao passes away due to an illness and Deepika’s Mastani dies in captivity.

In Padmaavat, Ranveer was the antagonist, who wanted to own Padmavati played by Deepika. The two didn’t share a single frame in the film. In the climax, after the wrongful killing of Shahid Kapoor’s character Ratan Singh, Deepika’s Padmavati self-immolates herself.

Interestingly, in between the three films, Ranveer Singh made a cameo in the Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor starrer Finding Fanny.

Funnily enough, Ranveer’s character dies during his wedding bash after he marries Deepika’s character.

Now, the real-life husband and wife will be seen together in Kabir Khan’s 83.

Based on the Indian Cricket Team’s 1983 World Cup triumph, 83 stars Ranveer Singh in the role of legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev. Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, will be seen playing the character of his wife Romi Bhatia.
The movie has garnered massive buzz among the movie buffs and is receiving all-round rave reviews. It is expected to work wonders at the box office. Which means Ranveer and Deepika will make four huge hits in a row with 83.
    © Reliance Entertainment
Having said that, another interesting aspect of the film is that Deepika and Ranveer will finally get their on-screen happy ending with 83. Kapil Dev married Romi Bhatia in the year 1980. The two have been happily married for over 40 years now.

After experiencing back to back sad endings in their previous three films, with 83, Ranveer and Deepika will finally get their on-screen happy ending.

The journey for Rashmika Mandanna hasn’t been easy. If you have been following her, you have a fair idea that she had to battle all the odds, especially the nasty trolls that came her way. She made her acting debut in 2016 with the Kannada hit Kirik Party. She will soon make her Bollywood debut with Mission Majnu, a spy-thriller, opposite Sidharth Malhotra. She has made her space and her fans are smitten by her aura and positivity as she is always smiling.
    View this post on Instagram
Fame did come to Rashmika at a young page but she also got to see the ugly side of the glittery world. In the 21st century, it’s easy to pass nasty comments on social media because you can hide behind your laptop screens. We have noticed how Rashmika is subjected to these nasty trolls. In a recent interview, she revealed how deeply it impacted her when she entered the industry as she wasn’t aware of the trolling trend.
Rashmika told Bollywood Bubble, “Recalling the first time that it happened, “Oh majorly. It hit me like a bloody tsunami. I didn’t see it coming, I didn’t even know what trolling was, wasn’t even aware of it. I was this girl who had come 100-200 followers and I was following some 400 people. I was just that girl. To one point I was body shamed and they were talking about my personality, my character, my family, my school, my upbringing, and all that. I remember all of this happening and the first time it happened I was like why is there so much negativity.”
    View this post on Instagram
She went on to add, “The thing is, when people are trolling you, you feel like the whole world is trolling you. It was such a new concept that I started losing myself in all of this. I don’t want to be seen, I want to behave this way, I want to talk this way. It was bad.”
    Here’s the full interview:

When you are hit by such comments, you land up questioning your own identity and choices and it was no different for Rashmika. She said, “I started self-doubting myself. What should I do? Should I cut my hand? Should I get lean? Whatever I did, it wasn’t convincing just because I don’t behave a certain someone wants me to. This is impossible to impress everyone. Even today, I won’t lie that it does affect. Do shit to me but not my family.”
From her airport look to her promotional antics, people have literally robbed her of the luxury of being herself. She was called names on social and it’s offensive to some other level. On this, she said, “People tag you. They call me names. And initially, I didn’t even know the meaning of it.”
    View this post on Instagram
She revealed that she was slut shamed and she didn’t even know the meaning of the words so she used to reach out to her mother. She shared, “So I went and asked my mum. I was like ‘Mumma, so many people are commenting this, what does it mean?’ And, of course, a mother can’t tell this to you na, so she was like ‘No no, ignore it, it’s nothing, it’s nothing’.”
She further shared that it was her college friend who told her the meaning of these derogatory words and it broke her heart.
We’re glad that Rashmika showed us this side of the story too. It’s time we all put an end to trolling and call it out.

Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves is one personality that is admired by everyone, right from his industry peers down to his fans.

The reason behind the Matrix actor being so well-liked by people is mainly down to the fact that he's very down to earth, and there have been plenty of examples out there on the internet to prove just that.
    © Prime Video
Now, Keanu, who is around 57 years of age, obviously has done a lot of blockbuster films in his career, while also working with the biggest of stars the industry had to offer.

But did you know that there was once a time when the handsome actor was part of a Bollywood award function, where he casually handed over the prize to a Bollywood star?
    Yep! That's right!
As per an NDTV report, it was the year 1999 when the John Wick actor must have been around 35 years of age.
What happened was that back then, Keanu was a part of an alternative rock band called Dogstar, where he was the bassist and backing vocalist.

He alongside bandmembers Bret Domrose and Robert Mailhouse had been performing at the Zee Cine Awards, following which the entire band was called on to the stage to present the trophy for the 'Best Female Debut' award.

After Keanu and the rest of the band appeared on the stage, they read the name of the winner, who actually turned out to be Preity Zinta.
The actress, who had won the award for her role in Soldier starring Bobby Deol, could be seen making her way through the crowd to the stage, before being greeted by a gracious Keanu Reeves.

Preity, who now lives in the US along with her husband Gene Goodenough, had earlier also shared the video of the throwback moment.

Wow! We know Preity has done exceptionally well in films throughout her career, but to be awarded by none other than Keanu himself, is surely an award in itself.

Keanu will be seen with Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra in the newly released The Matrix Resurrections film.

When the whole world stops believing in you and starts to pull you down, the only people who help you stand upright and stop you from crumbling are your family members. Even when the whole world is against you, your family members never leave your side and that is what makes them special.
Every person has to go through ups and downs in his life and this is the time when he realises how lucky he is to have an amazing family. With their support, a person can come out of any situation and the same happened to Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.
    View this post on Instagram
Breaking records after records, Ashwin is going through a purple patch at the moment but there was a time when he was so fed up that he wanted to call it a time and bring his international career to an abrupt end.
Despite having a terrific limited-overs record, Ashwin was dropped from the limited-overs set-up after the 2017 Champions Trophy. A bowler of his calibre was restricted to only red-ball cricket but he kept performing in the longest format of the game. Despite picking heaps of wickets playing at home, he hardly started in an away Test match, outside of Asia.
Apart from team management’s indifferent treatment, his injury concerns were another reason why he began contemplating his retirement as he wanted to put an end to all the pain he was going through.
    View this post on Instagram
During an interview with ESPNCricninfo, the spin wizard revealed all the reasons why he was seriously considering retiring from the game a couple of years back.
He said: “I contemplated retirement for a lot of reasons. I felt like people were not sensitive enough to my injuries. I felt like a lot of people were backed, why not me? I have done no less. I have won a lot of games for the team, and I am not feeling backed. I don't usually look for help - that somebody needs to back me, that somebody needs to cushion me or give me empathy. I felt I was not being able to be excellent and felt I needed a shoulder to lean on. It was not happening. I thought maybe I should try to find something else and be excellent at that.
View this post on Instagram“Just after the England series in 2018, after Southampton, was one phase. Again, in Australia later that year where I tore my abdomen after the Adelaide Test, before and after Sydney. Many stages. The only person I would be talking to was my wife. But my father was hell-bent: you will make a comeback in white-ball cricket, and I will see that before I die. For him it was more personal.”
When none of his teammates provided him the shoulder to lean on, Ashwin turned to his family members and opened up about his feelings which helped overcome navigate through that difficult phase. When a person’s brain is clouded with so much negativity, it’s hard to keep him motivated but his family, especially his father, found a unique way to do that.
View this post on InstagramHis father used to tell him that he would not die before he saw him making his comeback in white-ball cricket and that gave him the strength to have faith in his skills and keep pushing through, without worrying about the end result.
After more than four years, Ashwin finally made a comeback into the Indian white-ball squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE.
    View this post on Instagram
When everything seemed lost, a few words of encouragement from his father kept Ashwin pushing and he was finally able to fulfil his wish. As fans of the Indian cricket team we all are really grateful to him for that.
