After the big success of Gully Boy in 2019 and his special appearance in the 2021 film Sooryavanshi, Ranveer Singh is returning to the big screen with Kabir Khan’s ambitious cricket-based film 83.  

Based on the Indian Cricket Team’s 1983 World Cup win that surprised everyone, the film will see Ranveer in the lead role of former Indian captain Kapil Dev. 

The film has had several screenings in the last few weeks and the response has been outstanding. The early reviews have all been positive as well. 

Amidst all that, the cast of the film is leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. Recently, Ranveer Singh, Tahir Raj Bhasin and other cast members of the film along with former Indian cricketers like Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Kris Srikanth, Syed Kirmani and Kirti Azad were a part of an interview with India Today.

The promo of the show has gone viral on social media as it features Ranveer Singh breaking down while talking about the film and being a part of the process. 

Not just Ranveer, the promo also showed Kapil Dev, Syed Kirmani and Kirti Azad in tears after Ranveer gets emotional.

Talking about the film, Ranveer said, “For all of us just to be a part of that process has been the most incredible thing. Like Badri said, just being in this room today, I don't have words…” Unable to complete his sentence, the actor is then seen shedding tears.

The video also features Tahir Raj Bhasin who plays Sunil Gavaskar talking about how he got into the skin of the legendary Indian cricketer.  

He said, “I have watched all his videos, available on YouTube. I watched it in slow motion because as an actor, you want to try and find out - what animal is this person like! And after six months of watching him, I have found out that he walks like a tiger.”
