Ever since Ramiz Raja was made the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board earlier this year, he had gone on a serious roll to get international media recognition towards the plight in which the game of cricket was on their own soil.
At the end of the day, the game is a business for all the countries that take part in it and the biggest reason they do so is to make money. The problem with Pakistani cricket, at least before December 2021, was the fact that most of the other countries and their players felt extremely unsafe going to the country which was infamous for lack of security, and international cricketers being fired up by terrorists out in the open.

Raja stirred up the cricket blocs, called out the Western nations like England, Australia and New Zealand to be cowards who are in India’s pockets, and did everything in his capabilities to make an international bilateral series happen on their own grounds when the West Indies agreed to play three T20Is and three ODIs with them throughout December.
To not take any credit away from the Pakistani cricketers, their incredible performance during the T20 World Cup also added a lot of weightage to their claims towards being recognised as a significant force of international cricket once again and their consistency in white-ball cricket is worth acknowledging.
    CONGRATULATIONS!

However, as mentioned before, a major aspect of cricket as a business is the team’s potential to bring in crowds to fill the stadiums, watch the matches and spend their money for entertainment, food and beverages, in order to make it a successful venture.
So when the Karanchi cricket ground failed to pull the crowd and empty seats all over the stadium became extremely prominent, Pakistani and international media were once again up against Ramiz Raja’s case. Former Pakistani skipper Wasim Akram also expressed his disgust with the whole situation and called out the PCB for the failure to bring cricket fans to the stands.
Incredibly sad to see an empty stadium in Karachi for the #PAKvWIt20 especially after the performance of Pakistan Team in the last month. I’m pretty sure I know why but I want to hear from you! Tell me, where is the crowd and why??
    β€” Wasim Akram (@wasimakramlive) December 14, 2021
According to reports, just 35% of tickets for the first T20 match were sold, while around 18,000 tickets remained unsold for the second match. As a failsafe, the PCB has now decided to allow free entry for the ODI series just to at least allow crowds to be a part of the game in the country.
But the series of challenges seems to be endless for the cricket board as they now have to deal with the new variant of the COVID-19 virus that could simply disrupt the bilateral series after nine members of the West Indies squad were tested positive.
The remainder of West Indies' tour of Pakistan is in doubt after five more members of the touring party tested positive for Covid-19 #PAKvWI
    β€” ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) December 16, 2021
A further cancellation of the cricket in the country will cause severe damages to the PCB financially. Considering the rapid pace at which the new variant is spreading, this might very well be the last series on home soil for Pakistan for a really long time.

Brahmastra is finallyΒ getting to see the light of day after a long, long time. The initial excitement of fans may have turned to nonchalance because of the super long wait,Β but people were glad to see the lead pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, make an appearance.

While the motion poster was trolledΒ because of 'substandard' VFX, it was something else altogether that captured everyone's attention.
    View this post on Instagram
People couldn't keep their eyes off Ranbir's super sharp jawline, and everyone was curious about how he managed it. "Is he on fat loss?" "Is it make-up?" "How the hell did he manage to get that chiseled jawline?" were some of the comments.Β

Honestly, after looking at his pictures nice and close, we don't disagree either. That jawline and those cheekbones look fabulous!Β

    via GIPHYΒ
Now, the question arises, how to get a sharp jawline like that? According to experts, there are two ways in which it can be achieved. Let's find out.Β
    1. Through quantified nutrition and strength trainingΒ
    via GIPHY
Before you come at us, please understand that a jawline is a structural facet of your skeletal system that cannot be altered. However, it can be exposed sufficiently by removing extra fat that covers and cushions it. The only way of doing that? Calorie deficit. Plus, strength training will make sure you build some muscle, which will also improve your appearance.Β

Sorry, but there is nothing else you can do to 'make your jawline sharp', and quantified nutrition along with exercise is your best best. Face yoga, chewing gum etc. don't work, and anyone who is trying to claim otherwise, is making a fool out of you.Β
    2. Through illusion via contouring (in simpler words, makeup)
    via GIPHYΒ
This is a more 'immediate' solution, but not exactly ideal as it's making people believe you have a sharp jawline which you actually don't. Through contouring, it's possible to manipulate the high and low points of the face, thereby making it look like one has high cheekbones and a sharp jawline. Want to go down that road? Do that happily as it's time for society to get rid of the unnecessarily judgmental attitude it's burdened with.
    All the best!

Before leaving for South Africa, Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli attended a press-conference as per the ritual. During the presser, the 33-year-old cricketer cleared the air around various media reports that involved him in any manner.Β
View this post on InstagramNot just that, he even contradicted the statement of the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and called out his lies out in the open, saying that he was never asked not to give up T20I captaincy. After Kohli was sacked from the ODI captaincy, Ganguly, in multiple interviews, had indirectly blamed him for his removal saying that he had β€œpersonally requested” him not to step down from the T20I role ahead of the T20 World Cup in September.Β

Now that Kohli has dropped a bombshell, the questions are now being asked if it was only a result of miscommunication between him and Ganguly or was there anything between them all this while, just that it has come out in the open now for the whole world to see.Β
Looking at the whole situation, legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar feels that the seeds of whatever mess is happening right now in Indian cricket were sown a few months back when Kohli decided to relinquish the captaincy in the shortest format.
View this post on InstagramThe β€˜Little Master’ feels that the way Kohli put out a statement stating that he would continue to lead the ODI and Test side might have upset the BCCI hierarchy and this could have been the root cause why he was stripped of the 50-over leadership.Β
β€œI think you know I also saw the release because it was in a public domain. I think you know the way it was put across, I think it might upset the ones in power. If I remember correctly it said I will continue to lead India in Test and ODIs.I think that line could have been changed to I would be available to lead India in Test and ODIs,” Gavaskar told India Today.
View this post on InstagramGavaskar also pointed out that instead of saying that he would lead the squad in ODIs and Tests, he should have left it to the BCCI and the selectors to decide on that front. Although without saying directly, Gavaskar did indicate that Kohli’s statement could have made him a thorn in the eyes of BCCI top brass.Β

WATCH: Talking points from Virat Kohli's press conference
    β€” ICC (@ICC) December 15, 2021
β€œThe presumptions he would be the captain for Test and ODIs could have been one of the reasons why there was this little anti-feeling against him. Otherwise the records that he has of winning everywhere. He hasn't won ICC events but bilateral events whether at home or away, he has led the Indian team to wins. So there was no reason for people to be unhappy with his leadership abilities. I guess that one line might have actually been the cause where it actually started,” he added.Β
Everyone who watched Kohli’s press conference would know that while giving up the T20I captaincy he did give the BCCI office bearers and the selectors the option of removing him if they felt he was not the right candidate to lead the side in either of the two formats.
View this post on Instagramβ€œAt the time I told them 'yes, I'd like to continue (leading) in Tests and ODIs, unless the office-bearers and selectors feel I shouldn't be doing that responsibility'. Even that I had clarified on the call at the time. My communication to BCCI was clear since then about what I wanted to do. I gave them the option as well, that if the office-bearers and selectors feel I shouldn't (remain captain in Tests and/or ODIs), then the decision is in their hands,” Kohl said during his press-conference on Wednesday.Β
Kohli has tried to be as clear with his communication with the BCCI as possible and if there is anyone who needs to answer it’s the BCCI boss Sourav Ganguly, especially now that his lie is out in the public domain.

After a very long wait, Ayan Mukerji's much-hyped film Brahmastra is finally ready to hit the screens. On Wednesday, the makers launched the motion poster introducing Ranbir Kapoor's character, Shiva, at a grand event in Delhi and announced that the film will release on September 9, 2022. Fans are loving the motion poster of the movie, featuring Alia Bhatt opposite Ranbir.

Alia and Ranbir, who are dating each other in real life, will be seen together onscreen for the first time in Brahmastra. Both of them attended the poster launch event and their camaraderie was one of the highlights of the evening. Ranbir openly flirted with Alia who looked completely smitten by him. They also answered some fans' questions. One of them was about the Tamasha actor's wedding date.

Ranbir read out a question addressed to him, "When will you marry Alia or someone else?"
    View this post on Instagram
The actress seemed a little surprised by the second part of the question. Replying to it, Ranbir said, "Well, haven’t we seen a lot of people getting married in the last one year? I think we should be happy with that".Β
He then asked Alia, "Humari kab hogi (When will ours happen)?"
She answered, β€œWhy are you asking me?”, Ranbir pointed at Ayan and added in a witty way, β€œI am asking him, humari kab hogi (when will ours happen)?” The director then replied, β€œAaj ke liye ek hi date kaafi hai (The announcement of one date is enough for today), Brahmastra ki release date. Let’s wait”.
For the unversed, Ranbir and Alia have been dating each other since 2017 and are expected to exchange wedding vows next year in a close-knit affair in Mumbai. Reportedly, the wedding venue will most probably be Taj Lands End.Β However, confirmation is still awaited.Β
On the film front, besides Brahmastra, Ranbir has various interesting films in his kitty like Shamshera, Luv Ranjan's untitled next, and Sanjay Reddy Vanga's Animal. While Alia's lineup includes SS Rajamouli's pan-India project RRR, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Darlings, and Jee Le Zara.

Indian superstars used to be notoriously secretive about their ages. Back then they went about it in a hush-hush fashion, no one liked to admit to growing old. But the new breed of 60 year old Indian superstars seem to have thrown care to the wind, and somehow defy aging.Β
For these celebrities, part of the de-aging process has definitely been an increased focus on personal fitness. So we decided to rank these 60+ Indian Superstars whose fitness levels could swoon your partner off their feet:
    9. Amitabh BachchanΒ At 79, Amitabh Bachchan is the elder statesman of the list, so his chances of competing with the rest of the names on the list have definitely waned. However, he’s still the Big B so he had to be included here.

    8. ChiranjeeviΒ The Mutha Mestri superstar may not necessarily be the all encompassing action hero he once was, he is 66 after all, but he’s still a keen fitness enthusiast. Chiranjeevi works out with a personal trainer to ensure he can keep pushing his goals at the gym.

    7. MammootyΒ In 2017’s action thriller β€˜Masterpiece’, a sprightly 66 year old Mammootty was cast opposite a ferocious Unni Mukundan. Just goes to show how the Malayali superstar continues to defy the effects of father time.Β

    6. Akkineni NagarjunaΒ Naga Chaitanya may have taken over the mantle from Akkineni Nagarjuna as this generation’s heartthrob, but his 62 year old father is hell bent on making it a difficult transition. The Aatham actor has been quietly putting in the hours at the gym. Don’t be surprised if he’s cast opposite someone half his age sometime soon.

    5. Jackie ShroffΒ Bhidu is having fun being 64. Then again, that’s always been right up Jackie Shroff’s alley. While he may hold no candle to the top fitness icon on the list, he’s still as young as he’s ever been. Tiger Shroff seems to be having a good effect on his father.

    4. Anil KapoorWe need to get in on Anil Kapoor’s secret to everlasting youth ASAP. Despite having kids who’ve done all right by themselves, he still manages to outshine them at the ripe age of 65.

    2. Kamal HaasanThis might seem biased, I am a huge fan of the Kalyanaraman but even at 67, Kamal Haasan seems fitter than he’s ever been. His workout plan is paying off quite well. However, he’s got a way to go if he’s to match the celebrity who tops the list.Β

    1. Suniel ShettyHow the hell is Suniel Shetty 60? At this point, it is beyond being a cliche, but this man ages like fine wine. Somehow, he looks better and fitter than when he was young, thus, attaining the top β€˜fitness-icon’ spot on this list.Β

Virat Kohli’s first press conference after being removed from the position of the ODI captain of the Indian cricket team sparked a great new controversy between the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and him.
When asked about when was he truly told by the BCCI selection committee that he will have to step down from the role of the skipper, Kohli said that the committee got in touch with him merely an hour and a half before breaking the news to him. He then specifically went on to mention that he had received absolutely no communication from the Indian cricket board regarding such a drastic and sudden change in regime.

However, the problem became significantly more severe when Kohli said that he received absolutely no negative feedback when he had decided to announce that he will be calling it quits as the captain of the team in T20Is back in September.Β
This was also the time when Kohli had shared a message from his social media accounts suggesting that he wanted to not be the leader of the squad in the shortest format of the game as he wanted to focus more on being a better batter and managing his workload. However, in the same message, Kohli had also clarified that by no means was he willing to step down as the ODI or Test cricket captain of the country.

The part where he said that nobody was opposed to his wishes of quitting T20I captaincy has not created a lot of problems for Ganguly who had recently said that he’d made a β€œpersonal request” to Kohli to not give up the job.
Such contradictory comments have left a sour taste in the mouth of the fans of the Indian cricket team are now absolutely certain that one of the two big names around which Indian cricket revolves at the moment, is lying.

Either Kohli is telling the truth, in which case Ganguly’s β€œpersonal request” comment was nothing but a PR stunt to keep himself away from the whole Kohli-Sharma controversy or Kohli refused to acknowledge Ganguly’s support because of one of the various reasons such as the fact that he played a crucial role in taking away his ODI captaincy and giving it to Rohit Sharma.
Nonetheless, among all the dramd that has unfolded in the past week, Indian fans have found themselves to be feeling sorry for the newly appointed head coach of the Men in Blue, Rahul Dravid, who has gotten surrounded by the politics of Indian cricket once again, as soon as he took up a high-profile job with the senior team.
In all this, i feel sorry for Rahul Dravid. What rotten luck. Takes over a team high on Test success over the last few years and the team plunges into chaos before his first overseas assignment. Prayers for his good health.
