When I was in school, college was one phase I was looking forward to the most in my life. With every passing year as I would get closer to my upcoming ‘College-life’, I would be filled with a thrill like no other.
And today, when it’s been close to 4 years since I’ve graduated from college, I still find myself thinking about it, this time with a feeling of nostalgia.

    via GIPHY
You see, college is undoubtedly that one time in all our lives where we get to know more about ourselves, people and inevitably- about life. It is the time that even though it seems to pass us by in the blink of an eye, leaves us with a million takeaways for the rest of our lives.
And a huge credit for that goes to our college friends, who end up teaching us quite a few life lessons while at it. And yes, that can range from not eating a patty that’s been sitting on the counter for a while, to how to make the most of life.
Here are some of our favourite ones -
    1) Enjoy Your Own Company © Dharma Productions
Yes, friends are what make/break your college life and imagining three years without them is a nightmare in itself.

But, they are also the ones who make you realise that on days they ditch you and sleep at home while you wait for them in the class putting their proxy, you need to learn how to embrace your own company and be okay with it.
    2) Grow A Sense Of Humor © Vinod Chopra Films
One of the most important things that my college buds have taught me is to grow a sense of humour. And that means learning to laugh at yourself sometimes and not taking life so seriously.

Trust me, simply laughing at our own mistakes and not taking offence can save you a lot of frown lines and unnecessary anger.
    3) You Don’t Have To Do Everything Alone © Aamir Khan Productions
In life, it is okay to share your problems with others and not go through them alone.

Every once in a while, it is okay to rely on someone else, be it your friend to put your proxy, your professor to give you sympathy marks, or even your canteen waale bhaiya to give you that aloo patty on credit.
    4) Best Things In Life Are Unexpected © Dharma Productions
Like that one guy you met during the orientation and felt like picking a fight with, but is now suddenly your best friend whom you would take a bullet for (more or less).

College friends teach you that anything can happen anytime and that some of the best moments of your life will be unexpected and spontaneous.
    5) Regret AFTER Doing Something  © Vinod Chopra Films
Instead of hoarding the regret of not doing something at all, it is always best to do what you want and then regret it later.

At the end of the day, life is too short to not listen to your heart and if you’ve to deal with regret anyway, it best be for things you have tried instead of those you haven’t.
    6) Nothing Lasts Forever © Dharma Productions
Not your goodwill with that one professor that one semester, your position in the drama society or even your friendship with that one friend you made in college that you thought would stand the test of time.

Don’t get me wrong, if it does, there is nothing like it. But chances are, like other things with shelf lives, it would have one too and when that happens, it is best to be prepared than disheartened.

Kids have the most impressionable minds ever, they say.

Their innocence is often mistaken for gullibility and from a very tender age, they are asked to believe certain lies that end up sensitising them to the truth when they finally grow up.

    via GIPHY
Whether it is making them believe that Santa Claus exists or simply telling them how lying will make their noses grow as long as that of Pinocchio's, the fairy tales and movies that we are made to read/watch while growing up is but a way of propagating toxic positivity that wants us to believe in happy endings and much more.
However, now that we are all grown up and have been through enough struggles to realise happy endings take place only in Dharma movies, here is a list of all the lies that people shared on Reddit they believed while growing up.
    We’ll go first:
“Taking Your Glasses Off Makes You Instantly Attractive”We have majorly Karan Johar to blame for this one, where he made sure that one quick makeover of a girl where she loses her specs and a few inches of her skirt makes her look instantly desirable to men. I mean, what even?
“Woodland Creatures Will Come Clean Your House If You Sing To Them” © Reddit
Thanks to the number of fairy tales we’ve read and Disney movies we’ve seen where cutlery and furniture turn into reliable househelp, none of that happens in real life, because if it did, our parents would never be disappointed in us ever again.

“Someone Is Out There For Everyone” © Reddit
I’ll be honest, we still wish for this to be true because after having 982729 failed relationships, it is only hope that keeps us going.

However, on the off chance that there isn’t because, we need to tell ourselves that it is going to be okay.
“Love At First Sight” © Reddit
We live in a day and age where love doesn’t even happen after 7 dates and a hookup, talk about love at first sight.

“If Someone Is Mean To You, They Like You” © Reddit
One of the most frustrating notions that movies have had us believing and somewhat directing the actions of a young boy who may like someone.

Can we stop teaching boys that being mean is okay?
“When A Woman Says No, Try Harder” © Reddit
The most problematic idea that is propagated through movies is that there is a ‘yes’ hidden in a woman’s ‘no’.

Let me burst that bubble for you, ‘NO’ is a sentence on its own and doesn’t have an implicit “unless..” attached to it.
“A Kiss Will Fix A Poisoned Person” © Reddit
Just like kissing a frog won’t turn him into a prince, kissing a person who has been poisoned won’t suddenly make them alright.

You most definitely need a doctor, not a peck on the lips.
“A Guy Who Follows You Around Is Romantic” © Reddit
What the person actually is, is a stalker.

And your best bet is not to be floored by their overwhelming efforts to invade your personal space, but to file a restraining order!

You could be a ‘Nawab’ or a commoner trying to pay your bills on time, but when it comes to listening and bowing down to your wonderful mother, everyone does it. And actor Saif Ali Khan is no different.

Being a successful actor, husband to one of the most successful actresses, and being the son of Tiger Pataudi has got nothing to do with him being a momma’s boy, like most guys out there.
When the cast of Bhoot Police appeared on Kapil Sharma’s show, he spoke about life post-Tandav, and the earnings around renting the majestic Pataudi Palace.
In a newly released clip, Kapil asks Saif if he earned more as an actor from working in Tandav or more as a landlord from renting the palace for the shoot.
To everyone’s surprise, Saif hilariously quips that even though he earned from both sides, his mother took away the earnings that came from shooting the series over there.
"Meri maa le leti hai woh , main sirf naam ka Nawab hoon”, he laughs and the entire audience chimes in with him.

He then got into a funny banter with Archana Puran Singh and revealed how even though he might have a lot of money, he was still very simple at heart and like ordinary people, he too invested in an apartment to rent it out.
On asking if he gets pesky calls as a landlord, he shares that he used to cater to calls around taps not working and broken ceilings etc. While everyone laughed at his simplicity and honesty, Archana further questioned him as to why he was doing all this amidst shooting projects.
Saif then shared that he used to look into all the tenant problems himself until he found a manager to do the job.
His last Bollywood outing was with Bhoot Police which also starred Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles.
On the personal front, he welcomed his second child with his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, a baby boy named Jehangir.
The Pataudi Palace belongs to his family and besides being a private residence, it is often rented out for shoots to production houses.
Veer Zara was extensively shot here.

After a lot of reports speculating their separation, Samantha Ruth Prabhu confirmed separation with husband Naga Chaitanya and said they have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue their own paths. Their perfect story came to an end as they didn’t see a future with each other anymore.
View this post on InstagramOn Saturday, both of them announced the news through their respective social media handles, saying, "To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers, and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thank you for your support."
View this post on InstagramThere are different theories about their divorce that are doing the rounds of the Internet. As per reports in News18 and Bollywood Life, there are five speculated reasons as to why they chose to end their relationship.
1: A report suggests Naga’s family wasn’t very appreciative of Samantha picking up bold roles. She even shifted to Mumbai amid all these separation rumours which made matters worse.
View this post on Instagram2: There are rumours that the couple had very conflicting views on starting a family and having a baby in their lives. While one wanted to focus on the career, the other wanted to start a family. This created friction between the two. Back in 2018, Samantha spoke about how she and Naga Chaitanya have decided the timeline for when they will have a baby. She revealed, "I have put a date as to when I want my baby. The date has been fixed! Like, as if that's going to happen according to the date we have fixed! But Chay (Naga Chaitanya) seems to be certain that it will happen on the assigned date.”
View this post on Instagram3: As per a News18 report, Samantha is allegedly in a relationship with a designer which was primarily the reason why she wanted the divorce.
On the work front, Samantha will be seen in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal with Vijay Sethupathi, and Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara. Samantha and Naga Chaitanya had tied the knot in 2017.

As the T20 World Cup approaches, the excitement around the marquee tournament has started to increase.
Fans and experts across the globe are busy making predictions as to which teams could do wonders at the tournament and return home as the new world champion in the shortest format and which ones could choke.
    © Twitter ICC
The biggest highlight of the tournament is the encounter between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, who are scheduled to take on each other on October 24 in a group clash.

Experts around the world believe that India, who will be hosting the tournament in the United Arab Emirates, are among the favourites to win the tournament whereas Pakistan might struggle to leave a mark, because they haven’t had the quality match practice due to New Zealand and England cancelling their tours owing to security concerns.
    © Reuters
While this is the common belief in different parts of the world, it seems like former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq is living in an imaginary world of his own and has no idea what is happening outside his dreamland.

Because had he been living in the same world as us, he wouldn’t have passed such a silly statement about Team India.
    What're your views on Abdul Razzaq's comments?#INDvPAK #T20WC2021 pic.twitter.com/9FGpfblw16
    — CricTracker (@Cricketracker) October 5, 2021
Razzaq, who donned the Pakistan jersey between 1996-2013, feels that India can’t compete with Pakistan and that is why they have stopped bi-lateral ties with Pakistan because they are afraid of losing.
“I don't think India can compete with Pakistan. The kind of talent Pakistan has is entirely different and this I don't think is a good thing for cricket that India and Pakistan are not having matches,” Razzaq said on ARY News.
    © Reuters
“It used to be an exciting prospect and give players the opportunity to show how much pressure they could handle. So that has gone missing. I feel that had it continued, people would have found out that the kind of talent Pakistan has, India does not,” said the Pak all-rounder who played 46 Tests, 265 ODI and 32 T20Is.

There is no harm in thinking highly of your national team but what Razzaq has done here has only made him look like a fool, who is not interested in saying sensible things but only wants to remain in news by passing controversial remarks.
    © Reuters
India has never lost to Pakistan in the World Cup, be it ODI or T20I, by giving such an irresponsible statement ahead of the mega event, he has only made himself a butt of jokes.

Wasting no time, Indian supporters slammed the former Pak cricketer left right and centre. While some trolled him using memes, others posted stats reminding him of India’s superior records in the ICC events.
    Nice joke

The Aryan Khan drug controversy has taken the front seat in the radius of national news and looks like the entire country is hooked to police officials unhinging the drug nexus.

At the heart of this drug busting team is NCB’s Zonal Director, also known as the real-life Singham, Mr Sameer Wankhede.
The man is known to have rocked Bollywood with his interrogation skills and many celebrities have, in the past, ended up under his radar.
Wankhede has a bigger Bollywood connection than just carrying out raids and ensuring celebs don’t get star treatment in the eyes of the law.
He is married to a very successful Marathi actress named Kranti Redkar, who was also seen in Gangajal opposite Ajay Devgn.
    View this post on Instagram
Kranti made her debut with Soon Asavi Ashi in 2001 and is also known for being a fantastic dancer.
One of the most famous songs is Kombdi Palali which was later dubbed Chikni Chameli.

She then went on to become a social media influencer and also donned the filmmaker hat with her directorial debut in 2015 and she married Sameer Wankhede in 2017.
They are parents to a set of twins.

Recently, in an interview with Etimes, Kranti opened up about her husband being in the limelight for all the tough work he carries out.
“Sameer has always been a hard worker. His operations and cases were there even before too. Today, he is dealing with Bollywood-related drug probe cases, which is why it is getting highlighted. I give him his space when he is investigating or working on operations. I never ask him what happened, how it happened because I respect the secrecy of his job. I take care of everything at home, which is why he can concentrate on his cases more."
In case you’re wondering that if being his wife gets her access to information associated with national security and secret missions, then you’re mistaken.
“He sometimes gets so busy that he can't even sleep. He works 24/7. He barely sleeps for 2 hours. I never interfere or get involved when he is talking over the phone about a certain case. He does secret operations on an everyday basis, and he is not even allowed to reveal anything related to that with his family. I give him his space and never complain about anything. Sameer is in such a field where he can not sit idle for a minute. Even after coming home, he discusses the operations with his team over the phone. I never ask him, 'Kya hua batana..Kaise hua..kya kiya'. I maintain the secrecy of his job and respect the profession”, she revealed.
    View this post on Instagram
On her husband finally opening up to giving media interviews, Kranti is proud and happy.
“I am so happy that finally, he has started giving interviews to the media. He never opens up about anything to anyone. He is an introvert and very reserved. He never smiles. I have asked him to smile while giving interviews but he smirks. But yes, he is NCB officer Sameer Wankhede, and I respect and love the way he is. I am so proud of him."

As things develop, it really looks like a very tricky week for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan, with the star kid getting entangled in the cruise ship drug scandal. He along with friend Arbaaz Merchantt and model Munmun Dhamecha were sent to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) custody till October 7 for possession of drugs.
    © BCCL
In total, the NCB had arrested eight people for allegedly procuring and consuming drugs like cocaine and MDMA for a cruise ship rave party.

Now, it looks like the agency is pushing with its case after claiming that they now have sufficient evidence in the form of WhatsApp chats and calls to prove that the detained parties are indeed guilty of having the drugs.
A source in the NCB, while speaking to The Print said, “We received an intelligence input about a rave party that was planned on the cruise that was going from Mumbai to Goa, following which a raid was conducted and the drugs were seized. Several people were detained for questioning and it is only after we were certain about the involvement of the accused, that the arrests were made. There are several suspicious transactions that have been done and are now under investigation. We have also apprehended a person who is in the supply chain of the drugs, who will now be interrogated to unearth the links and the entire drug nexus.”
It clearly does not look good for Aryan Khan and others. Under NCB's raid, the agency had reportedly seized 13 grams of high-quality cocaine, 5 grams of MD, 21 grams of charas and 22 pills of MDMA and Rs 1,33,000.
As per the source, the NCB does have “reliable information and electronic data to corroborate the charges and offences.” The NCB had already suggested the Whatsapp chats do shed light on the contact between peddlers and suppliers.
“Prima facie investigation has revealed that there is incriminating material in form of WhatsApp chats clearly showing the nexus of the accused with suppliers and peddlers on a regular basis. These people need to be confronted with each other.” the source said. “The WhatsApp chats and the call detail records have enough evidence to show that the eight people were a part of the drug supply chain. They had procured drugs in the past as well and were in direct touch with peddlers. For this party too, they were contacted. We now need to record statements of all accused and confront them with each other. Once we question them and record their statements, things will become clearer… the statements of the accused also need to be verified and corroborated,” he added.
Meanwhile, lawyer Satish Maneshinde had issued a statement in Aryan's defence wherein it was mentioned that it wasn't him but friend Arbaaz who was caught in possession of drugs.
Well, whatever is the case, things are certainly not looking good for any of the young men.

It was the battle of the best as MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings locked horns with Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals.
It was also the battle between past and present of Team India as mentor Dhoni came face-to-face against his understudy Pant in a crucial encounter.
    © Twitter IPL
They might be the competitors on the field but off it, they share great camaraderie and it was out there for everyone to see when the two walked out for the toss at Dubai International Stadium.

It’s no secret that while Pant considers Dhoni his mentor, the CSK skipper treats him like his younger brother.
#DelhiCapitals have won the toss and they will bowl first against #CSK.

The flip of the coin landed in the DC skipper’s favour and he decided to bowl first.
After the toss, both Dhoni and Pant were captured sharing a laugh in the middle of the pitch before heading back to their respective dugouts.
To the man who proved that irrespective of where you come from, hard work and dedication is the greatest ticket to success. Happy Birthday, Mahi bhai! @msdhoni pic.twitter.com/DfV36sIlQC

In the video, Pant can be seen asking Dhoni about something after which he starts laughing and starts moving away from him.
The southpaw, however, takes a couple of steps towards CSK legend and grabs his hands and points towards the watch he was wearing.

Nothing can be said with absolute certainty as to what the two skippers were talking about, but the detectives of social media had an answer to that as well.
Closely analysing the video, the fans came to the conclusion that Pant, who turned 24 on Monday, was asking Dhoni to give him his watch as his birthday present.

    — Aman Tiwari (@iamann___) October 4, 2021The detective eyes of social media assumed that when Dhoni started to walk away Pant pointed towards his watch and demanded it as his birthday present.
Unless either of the two players comes out in the public and reveals what their discussion was, there is no way to confirm anything.
That said, one has to marvel and appreciate the creativity of fans who cooked up a powerful story, something which anyone could fall for.
    © Twitter IPL
We might never find out what they were talking about watching the two of them laughing together before a crucial encounter brought a big smile on our faces.

Pant values Dhoni’s advice immensely as he has learnt so many things from him over the years. But when he took the field as a DC skipper he was focused on winning the match for his side.
“Always great learning from him (MS Dhoni), but right now he's a rival, so the focus is on the game," Pant said after winning the toss.

The birthday boy got a wonderful present as his side inflicted a three-wicket defeat on CSK on his special day and assured them of a top-two finish on the IPL 2021 Points Table.
It was not a convincing victory but Pant was still happy with his side for getting the job done and adding two crucial points to their tally.

“Not a bad birthday present, (it) was a tough match, we made it tough for ourselves. In the end, if we win everything is fine. Big win, because of this we can be absolutely sure that we can finish in the top two. So it's a great win for us,” said the DC skipper at the post-match presentation.
The three-time champions, on the other hand, might have come second best on Monday night but the good thing is that they can still finish in the top two if they win their next game and maintain a superior net run rate as compared to RCB.

Rohit Roy is one of the renowned faces of television and most released he played the antagonist in the show Sanjivani 2 (2019).
Recently, in an interview with TOI, talking about his journey, he said, “In the last 20 years, if my kitchen kept running, it was because of my work on television and I owe the medium a lot.”
Sharing another incident from his past, Rohit Roy said, “Many years ago, I had asked Anurag Basu why he wasn’t casting me in his films, and he had joked, ‘People watch you for free on television, why would they pay money to watch you in a film in theatres?”
    View this post on Instagram
He said that he shocked me with his words but then I understood his viewpoint.
He also expressed that now the lines are slowly blurring and actors bag great projects in both the medium and also OTT is an added blessing. He further said, “Secondly, I would not blame anyone for my films not doing well at the box office or not bagging interesting projects, because after I did Swabhimaan (TV show), success had gone to my head.”
    View this post on Instagram
Talking candidly about his early days in his career, Rohit admitted that he did let the success go to his head, which certainly affected his work.
“I have only started working hard in the last decade. When I did Swabhimaan, I was spoken about as the next big star, I felt I would be the next Shah Rukh Khan. So, if my career took a backseat for a few years, it is because of my own assumptions and allowing success to go to my head. I was a very bad actor and never took work seriously. If I had put in the kind of effort other successful actors put in many years ago, I would have been somewhere else. I am happy that I am now getting to do interesting work.”

Taapsee Pannu gave a stellar performance in the movie Pink. However, the actress was not acknowledged or appreciated for her role enough.
Ever since her debut in Bollywood with David Dhawan's comedy, Chashme Baddoor, she has been on a roll.
She then did some of the most critically acclaimed movies like Pink, Thappad, Naam Shabana, etc.
She has now completed eight years in Bollywood, but the actress still nurses a sore spot after her performance in Pink was overlooked by critics.

Taapsee is now all set to be seen in Rashmi Rocket, a sports drama movie.

When she was asked if she wishes to win the National Award for her role, she said she never wanted regular awards in the first place and wants to make her case through her work.
    © Instagram/Taapsee Pannu
She told a leading daily, “Please give me one! Whom shall I ask for it? What can I do? I can only perform to my best, and that's all that I have control over. I've never lobbied for regular awards, which is why it took so long for me to win one. So, how will I be able to lobby for a National Award?”

She further added, “I have no idea how to go about it other than making sure that if I don't win one this year, I'll return the next year with another performance. I have kept that attitude since 2016, when I was not acknowledged for Pink. And ever since then, my way of taking revenge has been to come back with a performance every year that's going to make you sit up and take notice of my work. That's all that I have control over, really."

Earlier has well, Taapsee had also spoken about her disappointment for not being recognised for her role in Pink.

She said, “The only time my heart broke and that pinch of not getting awards was in 2016 when Pink released. I was not nominated (for awards), and even in a couple of places where I was nominated, I didn’t win when everyone I met was raving about the film and my performance. So much so, that Shoojit Sircar said get your clothes stitched, you are going to win all the awards."

The actress had Haseena Dilruba this year which was released on Netflix.

Apart from Rashmi Rocket, she has other projects in the pipeline, including Loop Lapeta, Dobaaraa, and another biopic on Mithali Raj, named Shabaash Mithu.
Tapsee has been posting several behind the scenes pictures on her Instagram feed, and her fans can't wait to see the movie.
