Mahendra Singh Dhoni created a lot of confusion in the first half of the Indian Premier League 2021 when he began to bat at the seventh or even the eighth spot and sent names like Sam Curran ahead of him in the batting lineup.
Many felt that Dhoni was trying to get back in the groove and therefore wanted to delay his entry to the pitch, others felt that the Chennai Super Kings skipper wasn’t as confident in his big-hitting skills as he once used to be.

    — Jay prakash Sharma (@ms_dhoni_077) September 15, 2021
However, now former Indian opener and Dhoni’s ex-teammate Gautam Gambhir took the job of analysing the reasons behind such a dramatic move by ‘Captain Cool’ and what could the possible implications be for CSK as a team.
“MS was a player who would’ve actually batted at number 4 or 5 but we’ve seen in the first leg that he normally bats at number 6 or 7," Gambhir said on Star Sports’ show Game Plan. “There are times when he’s actually pushed Sam Curran before him as well."
    View this post on Instagram
“The reason behind this is that he’s probably trying to be a mentor and a wicketkeeper, who can lead the side and keep wickets. If the situation comes to a point where he probably has to play 8 or 10 balls, he can just go out there and whack them," he said.
Essentially, Gambhir suggests that Dhoni is not trying to get back in the swing of things but wishes to see the youngest players get more balls to face so that they can develop into better batsmen as Dhoni is in the twilight of his career.

Having said that, the southpaw opener reckons that it might not be so easy for Dhoni to switch on his six-hitting abilities instantly as he used to a decade ago, especially since he retired from playing international cricket in August 2020.
“It’s going to be difficult for him, because you are not playing international cricket. IPL is a very difficult tournament, its not like CPL and other leagues. IPL is where you face top-quality bowlers. For me, I think the biggest challenge for CSK will be that the top-order needs to fire because that’s not the case anymore," Gambhir added.

The Internet never ceases to surprise us with bizarre incidents, some of which entertain us, and often tickle our funny bones. Take any marriage incident for instance, where the groom might have entered drunk or failed to answer a fundamental math question. There are numerous such instances that are as bizarre as they are funny. In a new incident that has surfaced online, a woman was seen dancing at the intersection of two roads in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, when the signal turned red. This stunt went viral on Instagram, but she obviously landed in trouble with the cops for violating traffic rules.

The woman, named Shreya Kalra, took to her feed and shared the video, which quickly went viral. She was seen wearing a black ensemble and was dancing at the zebra crossing as cars slowed down. She danced to Doja Cat's song, Woman, and even the commuters seemed pleased by her performance. The shot was taken at Rasoma Square in Indore. However, she drew flak from many people online since she'd filmed herself without a mask at the start of the video.

Thanks to this, the updated caption had Kalra asking the people to follow the traffic rules. She wrote, "Please do not break the rules - red sign means you have to stop at the signal not because I'm dancing."

She also asked the people to wear masks.

However, she said she had not broken any traffic rules and wanted to spread awareness to wear masks. She added, “I don’t want to influence anybody else to do the same thing. The video was taken in the wrong way.”
The traffic department urged the people not to break traffic rules and be safe, while the DSP asked the youngsters to do activities that don't cause harm to others and themselves.
This is not the first time someone has landed in trouble for doing such performances. Even before this, two others were booked for performing dangerous motorcycle stunts in public.

As the Test series between India and England was about to get into the fifth and final match at Manchester’s Old Trafford cricket ground, the Indian cricket board had decided to call it off because of the sudden increase in COVID-19 cases within the Indian contingency.
Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur now reveals the kind of terror with which every member of the squad was spending their time in the dressing room, worried about their lives and the health of their family members.
Following ongoing conversations with the BCCI, the ECB can confirm that the fifth LV= Insurance Test at Emirates Old Trafford, due to start today, will be cancelled.
    — England Cricket (@englandcricket) September 10, 2021
Ahead of the Manchester Test, head coach Ravi Shastri, fielding coach R Sridhar, bowling coach Bharat Arun, and junior physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar were all tested positive with the virus. To make matters worse, most of the Indian cricketers were in close contact with at least one of them in the recent past.

“I heard someone whispering about it and the general feeling was what will happen next. As the match was on, everyone was focused on the game. It was the first time we were without our main support staff,” Thakur said according to CricketAddictor.
BREAKING: The fifth #ENGvIND Test in Manchester has been cancelled pic.twitter.com/xQJKmJGfQa
    — ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) September 10, 2021
“They used to call us at the end of the day. I spoke to Bharat Arun Sir, he spoke about what kind of line and length I can bowl. If they had any points they used to tell us after the game,” Thakur explained.
Certain roles in the team, such as Parmer’s job as a physiotherapist requires him to be in close contact with the players, and according to Shardul, he was simply doing his job while nobody was aware of the fact that he was indeed infected and may be the greatest threat to the team at the moment.
"We were worried about what will happen, who will be infected since Parmar had treated everyone. The next 4-5 days were vulnerable for us because there was fear that it could happen to me or anyone. Everyone was worried about their & their family's health." - Shardul Thakur
    — CricketMAN2 (@man4_cricket) September 16, 2021
“We were worried about what will happen, who will be infected since Parmar had treated everyone. We didn’t know how things would go ahead because tracking this infection is next to impossible,” the all-rounder added.
Thakur then revealed that for the next four to five days, the entire team remained nervous about getting the test results not only because they would have to leave the Test series midway but also because of the fact that they were to leave for the United Arab Emirates to play the second half of IPL 2021 soon.
    View this post on Instagram
This only goes on to show that reasons for calling off the fifth Test between India and England were related to genuine health risks. However, the ECB refuses to believe that and is adamant about declaring the match a forfeit from the Indian side.
As a counter-proposal, the BCCI has offered to play a one-off Test or two additional T20Is in 2022, when they were supposed to revisit England for a white-ball series.

“This series investigates the hidden nuances of a glamorous industry. I play Zohra who is an inspiring single woman at the apex of the media industry, but her character is mysterious. It's the kind of part I have never explored before and honestly, I feel it's the role of a lifetime. Nakaab has crime, drama, secrets, scandals and is a complete entertainer. However, it was the fantastic mysteriously layered character written by Soumik Sen that made me immediately take up the part,” said Mallika Sherawat.
Inspector Aditi Amre (Esha Gupta) MX Player
The vivacious Esha Gupta brings to life the character of Inspector Aditi Amre, who is assigned the investigation into the death of the high-profile actress Vibha Dutta (played by Ankita Chakraborty). Aditi’s life turns upside down as she uncovers intricate details about the case.

Javed Akhtar is no stranger to trolling and has often been criticized for his views concerning national issues. He recently drew flak after he compared the Taliban and the Hindu right-wing that triggered controversy. He had said the Taliban are barbaric and their actions are reprehensible but those supporting the RSS, VHP, and Bajrang Dal are similar.

Now, Javed Akhtar, in a signed article in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana, has said that Hindus are the most tolerant majority in the world and that India could never be equated with Taliban-ruled Afghanistan as Indians are by nature moderates.

“Actually, in the recent interview, I have said ‘Hindus are the most decent and tolerant majority’ in the world. I have repeated this time and again and also emphasized that India can never become like Afghanistan because Indians by nature are not extremists. It is in their DNA to be moderate, to keep to the middle of the road,” said Akhtar in his opinion piece in Saamana.
But he also maintained his stance that he does find similarities between the Taliban and the Hindu right-wing. “My critics are also outraged that I find a lot of commonalities between the mindsets of Taliban and the Hindu right-wing. As a matter of fact, there is a lot of commonalities. The Taliban is forming an Islamic government based on religion, the Hindu right-wing wants a Hindu Rashtra,” Akhtar said.
He went on to add, “The Taliban wants to curb women rights and put them on the margin, the Hindu right-wing has also made it clear that they don’t like the freedom of women and girls; right from UP, Gujarat to Karnataka young men and women have been beaten mercilessly for sitting together in a restaurant or a garden or any public place. Like the Muslim fanatics, even the Hindu right-wing does not accept the right of women to choose their spouses. Recently a very important right-wing leader said that women are not capable of being left on their own or being independent. Like the Taliban, the Hindu right-wing also claims the superiority of faith and ‘astha’ over any man-made law or court.”
After his recent statements, people have been bashing him again as they are criticizing him for changing his stance.

Actor Mallika Sherawat recently said that she never compromised on her morals and principles. Not only this, she also said that indecent proposals are made to people who put themselves in that position.
Mallika was recently asked if she has been sexually propositioned by men in the industry, and she said that because of the image that she'd made for herself, people just stayed away from her.
View this post on InstagramIn an interview with Bollywood Bubble, she said, “I haven't faced too much of it, but of course, a little bit of it I have. But I think they were all intimidated by me or scared of me. Mujhe proposition karne se pehle mere khyaal se woh log nervous se ho jaate the (They maybe got nervous before propositioning me).”
She further added, “Their perception was that she is bold and she'll give it back; she's not a very shy or scared girl. So my image also helped me in a certain manner…”
She said, “I've always because all this happens when you put yourself in that position, I feel. I didn't go to Bollywood parties, I didn't meet any producer or director at night in a hotel room, or at night in the office. I kept myself away, and I thought, ‘Jo meri kismat mein hai woh mere paas ayega (I’ll get what is destined for me). I don't need to do all these things.”
View this post on InstagramShe said, "There were so many accusations and judgements on me. If you wear short skirts, kiss on screen then you’re a fallen woman with no morals. Men tend to take liberties with you. This happened with me too.”
She told PTI, “I was thrown out of projects because heroes would say ‘why can’t you be intimate with me? You can do it on screen, what’s the problem in doing that with me in private?’ I’ve lost so many projects. It’s very reflective of the society, what women deal with in our country.”

Javelin thrower and the only gold medalist for the Indian contingent at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Neeraj Chopra once shared the story of the time when he thought his plane was about to crash. However, while the story itself was very gripping, it was what he said at the end that has his fans commending his level of maturity at such a young age.
As a guest speaker at an event, Chopra spoke about the time he had to take a flight from Abu Dhabi to Frankfurt and how the plane lost control for 10-15 seconds while in mid-air.
    View this post on Instagram
“For 10-15 seconds, all the lights were off and it felt as if the flight was descending at a very high speed. I had put on my headphones. As soon as I removed them, I could see people in chaos. People were crying, somebody was screaming, kids were also crying,” Chopra described the scenario in what would obviously be a scary feeling.
“So I said to my physio, who was sitting next to me ‘What’s the point of screaming now? If it has to go down, it will go down and nobody can stop it,’” said the 23-year-old while keeping a completely calm face and even offering a smile.

Ever since Chopra won the medal, it is no surprise that he has gained an incredible amount of popularity among the sports fans of the country. What he did at the Olympics and the kind of confidence with which he did it is also commendable.
However, there is more to just winning the gold medal that has led to more and more people following him on social media platforms and watching (and rewatching) his videos - it is his character, his personality, and his vision towards various aspects of life that make him such a likable person.

    — Neeraj Chopra (@Neeraj_chopra1) August 26, 2021
From demanding to be interviewed in Hindi, to standing up for his Pakistani rival when the rumours of ‘javelin tampering’ surrounded him, Chopra is not only an exceptional athlete but also an incredible human being and the nation is proud to call him its son.
