Imagine one day your account gets credited with money and not just in thousands but in lakhs. A similar incident happened with Ranjit Das from Bakhtiyarpur village. This man, who hails from Bihar's Khagaria district, got a whopping amount of Rs 5.5 lakh in his account. He earned this amount by an error from the Gramin Bank as per an IANS report.

He was under the notion that PM Modi had promised Rs 15 lakh to everyone as per reports. He also believed that the cash would be deposited in people's accounts, and considered this the first instalment from PM Modi.
Das said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi deposited the money, and he would not return it, as he had already spent the amount and was left with no balance anymore. He said, "I was very happy when I received the money in March this year. I thought as Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised every one of depositing Rs 15 lakh in their bank account, I thought that it could be the first installment of it. I have spent all the money. Now, I do not have money in my bank account."

Ranjit Das was later arrested for the same. As per Mansi Station House Officer Deepak Kumar, Ranjit was detained on the grounds of a complaint registered by the Gramin bank, and an investigation is currently underway.

There was another case in which a Bihar-based sculptor designed a small statue of Narendra Modi. This could in turn be used for storing money. Jai Prakash from Muzaffarpur thought of this at the time of Janata Curfew last year. The storage could hold up to Rs 1 Lakh, both coins and cash. He also added that this miniature of PM Modi would inspire the kids to become like him and said that he is "the best in the world".
"I felt that he has been making efforts to save the country. I decided to make it to save money." Prakash said.

Batting great Sunil Gavaskar needs no introduction. He is arguably one of the greatest cricketers to have played sport for the country. He was the first batsman in the history of the game to breach the 10,000-run mark in Test cricket.
Batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, who is referred to as the ‘God of Cricket’ by his fans, idolised Gavaskar and wanted to be like him.

After he retired from international cricket, the Maharashtra Government allotted the ‘Little Master’ a 2,000 square meter land in the Bandra-Kurla complex to set up a cricket academy for the benefit of the budding cricketers. The land was allotted way back in 1988, a year after Gavsakar played his last match for India.
More than three decades have gone by, Bombay has become Mumbai and the city is full of sky-scrappers but the land allotted to Gavaskar is still living in the 20th century.

In a series of tweets, Maharashtra’s Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad expressed his disappointment with the legendary cricketer for not fulfilling his promise. Awhad said he was so close to cancelling the allotment of the land but the cricket fan inside him stopped him.
The Minister said had it been for any other person than Gavaskar, he would have cancelled the allotment of this plot and would have utilised it for some other project.
“I had almost taken the decision to cancel the allotment of the 2,000 sq metre plot located in Bandra (East). Despite such a huge size and prime location, the proposed cricket academy has not yet come there. I did not cancel the allotment because of Gavaskar’s stature and his great contribution to the game,” Awhad wrote on the micro-blogging site.

“I was ready to take the plot back along with MHADA (state-run housing agency) and utilise it for some good purpose,” he stated.
Explaining why he couldn’t take away the land from him, Awhad said it was because he had some great memories of Gavaskar growing up. He used to consider him a God during his playing days. He also recalled how he came home crying after Gavaskar was cleaned up by former English pacer Phillip DeFreitas.
Had it not been #sunilgavaskar as the housing minister would have cancelled the allotment I m one who used to c god in #SunilGavaskar
Now at least he should make the best out of the plot.
Can’t forget the day he was clean bowled by #PhilipsDefraitis and I left the stadium crying

“Had it not been #sunilgavaskar as the housing minister, would have cancelled the allotment I’m one who used to c god in #SunilGavaskar. Now at least he should make the best out of the plot. Can’t forget the day he was clean bowled by #PhilipsDefraites and I left the stadium crying,” he explained.

While the exact reason why the land was not utilised for so long is still not known, one of the possible explanations could be that the plot was reserved for an indoor academy complex. But the state government has now given the Sunil Gavaskar Foundation the permission to convert the land into a multi-facility sports complex.
The government has also ordered the foundation to start construction on this land within the next 12 months and finish the construction in the next three years.
As per Indian constitution, every person has the equal right before the law and there shall be no discrimination based on various social norms, including religion, race, caste, ***, and place of birth.

And here we have a state housing minister getting influenced by a person’s social status and bending the rules to suit his needs. Not just that, he even had the audacity to brag about it on a social media platform. The reason why he did that was because he knew that rather than questioning his actions, people would praise him. And if you also fall in the latter category, then you’re equally culpable of spreading such discriminations in the society because we all know he wouldn’t have given the same treatment to a common man.

Every 15 minutes a woman reports a rape in India and very frequently we get to hear how women become victims of domestic violence when their families aren't able to arrange for dowries. All of us criticise the government in such cases for its shabby treatment of women's rights and rightly so.
But there are cases wherein the system is wrongly used for falsely accusing men too. It’s said that a man is innocent until proven guilty. We as a society have blindly accepted the fact that men, in the cases of domestic violence, are the ‘culprits’.
While there's no denying the fact that women continue to suffer, there are occasional cases where the law has been wrongly used to frame men. We hardly raise questions like, ‘Are men not vulnerable?’, ‘Is it possible that a man is a victim and not a culprit?’ and ‘How is he facing the society after domestic violence allegations which are not proven yet?’
Popular television actor Karan Mehra was accused of domestic violence by his wife Nisha Rawal.Their private conversations were accessible to the public and Karan was arrested for allegedly assaulting her and later released on bail.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, he has shed light on how all these allegations have affected him and how such charges can be troublesome for men.
1: A Disturbing And Emotional Phase Karan Mehra has been fighting this battle since three months now and he has hardly spoken ill about their separation. Now, he has opened on the fact that it has been a difficult phase for him. He told HT, “It has been more than three months and I am fighting the battle. The matter is subjudice so I don’t want to talk much about it. I have not seen my son Kavish for more than 100 days, not able to enter my home or take my belongings. It has been an emotional, disturbing and painful time for all of us. We are fighting it as a family.”

2: A Man’s Tale Of Mental Harassment Is Hardly ConsideredKaran opened up on how his family members were falsely implicated in the case. He also said that Nisha and her brother are staying in the house but his parents are made to go through such a difficult phase. He said, “It is not right to put my parents through all this, especially when my dad is a heart patient. It is quite disturbing. The proceedings, the process and the fight are not easy. I am out of my house while she and her brother are in the house, aaram se.”

3: Helplessness To Make People Understand That A Man Isn’t Always The CulpritHe revealed that he has proof of everything and how he has been wrongly accused but he doesn’t have to keep giving justifications to people about his innocence. He said, “You can’t go head-on in such matters. One can say anything about anyone but it doesn’t make it the truth. I don’t have to counter and give my safai to every allegation and not doing so, doesn’t make me wrong. It doesn’t have to be a public trial. Kavish will see stories online of our fights. Things are being handled legally and I will let things take their course.”

4: A Man’s Plight Since The Law Favours Women This is true to an extent that law does favour women and Karan has learnt it the hard way. He shared that he feels sorry for men as the law often favours women. He said, “If a person like me is going through this, then one can’t even imagine what a regular guy must be going through. It is very difficult for you personally, family, people associated with you and for your work. Thankfully, I have so many people who have been supportive, which really matters to me.”

His statements are why we need to listen to men too before jumping to any sort of conclusion. What do you think of Karan's statements? Let us know in the comments below.

Earlier this week, astronomers who were keeping a close eye on Jupiter got a surprise when a very large space rock smashed into the gas planet. Many astronomers were watching the passing of the shadow of Io, one of Jupiter’s moons and suddenly saw a bright flash of light. Brazilian observer José Luis Pereira managed to capture the event as it happened with his camera.

"I am an assiduous planetary observer," Pereira told Space.com in a written statement Tuesday (Sept. 14). "When the planets Jupiter, Saturn and Mars are in opposition, I try to make images in every possible night of clear skies. Especially [of] the planet Jupiter, my favorite.”
Possible New Impact on Jupiter discovered on September 13, 2021 at 22:39:30 UT by Jose Luis Pereira from Brazil. Please check your data around this time (+/- 5 min) and try to image the impact area. Gif attached, image on next tweet. Congrats to Jose! #astronomy#jupiter #impact pic.twitter.com/Z9CpSPsMTt

Other astronomers also witnessed and captured images of the event which was later corroborated by professional astronomers as well. This particular event is the eighth recorded impact on Jupiter since the first in July 1994. This impact was captured at latitude 5.5° and longitude 105.7° (System I / L1), 83.3° (System II / L2), and 273.4° (System III / L3).
ESA Operations, a Twitter account belonging to the European Space Agency also confirmed the impact and tweeted, “Not a lot of info on the impacting object yet but it's likely to be large and/or fast!”

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system where more than 1,300 Earth-sized planets could fit inside the planet. The gas planet has been protecting smaller planets including earth from flying objects in space. This particular impact was one of the largest ever recorded and it would be interesting to see if it will leave any atmospheric scar on Jupiter. That can only be confirmed with follow-up observations.
According to SpaceWeather.com, the fireball that hit Jupiter was located 106.9 degrees latitude, and +3.8 degrees longitude. It is being assumed that the fireball originated from an asteroid and scientists are now looking for dark marks on the gas planet’s surface. When Jupiter was hit by the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9, the impact left “dark, ringed scars” for almost a year.
