Virat Kohli declaring his resignation as the Team India captain in the shortest format of the game after the T20 World Cup 2021 has sent big shockwaves across the Indian cricketing community. While the obvious heartbreak and celebrations ensue, some of the more controversial topics such as the BCCI trying to cover it up, have become major talking points.
Earlier this week, a report shared by The Times of India suggested that Kohli was going to give up his captaincy in both T20Is and ODIs. The reason given behind it was that the cricketer simply wanted to focus on becoming a better batsman and retain the form he has lost over the last couple of years.

    — Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) September 16, 2021
BCCI secretary Jay Shah not only rubbished these reports but even went on to say that the cricket board was a hundred percent backing Kohli up as the team captain. “There is no such proposal and the team is led by Virat and we are backing him,” he had said in an interview with Cricbuzz.
However, as soon as Kohli’s Twitter post went public and the news about his resignation was out in the open, the Shah not only showed his support towards Kohli’s decision but went on to say that he was aware of it all over six months ago and was in constant touch with the cricketer in his journey of decision-making.
Thanks @imVKohli for your contribution as the #TeamIndia captain. As a young talent the focus and determination you have showed as the captain is unmatched. The most impressive aspect was the way of maintaining balance between captaincy and individual performance.
    — Jay Shah (@JayShah) September 16, 2021
"We have a clear roadmap for Team India. Considering the workloads and ensuring that we have smooth transition, Mr Virat Kohli has decided to step down as T20I Captain after the upcoming World Cup,” Shah said on the official BCCI website.
“I have been in discussions with Virat and the leadership team for the last six months and the decision has been thought through. Virat will continue to contribute as a player and as a senior member of the side in shaping the future course of Indian cricket,” he added.
Those who have been following the drama around Kohli and his captaincy, quickly connected the dots and have started asking the right questions to the right people:
Jay Shah: "I have been in discussions with Virat and the leadership team for the last six months and the decision has been thought through."

So why was it okay to lie and say that 'the question of change in captaincy doesn’t arise' just two days ago?

Ever since Virat Kohli announced his decision to step down from the T20 captaincy after next month’s T20 World Cup, fans and cricket experts are busy weaving various theories justifying his decision.
    pic.twitter.com/Ds7okjhj9J
    — Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) September 16, 2021
One thing is for sure, and it's that the decision, which has left everyone in shock, was not made in haste.
The same was confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah, according to whom, the discussions were going on for the last six months with Kohli and the leadership group.

“I have been in discussions with Virat and the leadership team for the last six months and the decision has been thought through. Virat will continue to contribute as a player and as a senior member of the side in shaping the future course of Indian cricket,” Jay Shah was quoted as saying in a BCCI statement.

While Kohli has stated his increasing workload as the main reason behind his decision, his explanation, to a lot of people, appeared to be somewhat of an excuse.

Amidst various theories that are doing rounds, one is that Kohli knew that if India couldn’t win the T20 World Cup, he would have been sacked from his role, the road for which was being laid for the last six months. So, he made a smart choice in order to save his ODI captaincy.
For a long time, people on the outside have been complaining about the Indian captain enjoying absolute power in the selection meetings, with nobody questioning his decisions. In the past, we could say it was true but not anymore.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, Kohli was involved in a heated debate with the selectors over Shikhar Dhawan’s inclusion in the ODI squad for the home series against England earlier this year.

The five-member selection-panel, headed by former India pacer Chetan Sharm, wanted to reward a young player with a national call-up for his performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, Kohli had to fight hard to include Dhawan in the team.
    © Reuters
“For instance, he had to fight hard to have Shikhar Dhawan in the ODI squad for the India-England series in February- March this year. The selectors, it is learnt, wanted to have another opener who did well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kohli had insisted that Dhawan, who had by then lost his place in the Twenty20 squad, was a must,” read a report in Cricbuzz.

“So hot was the debate in that March meeting, that the BCCI had to wait for some sort of consensus before making the announcement, almost five days after the squad was picked,” it further added.
It means= Virat wanted to be added Dhawan in this WT-20,,but because of selectors, Dhawan didn't selected

    — (@beccasmayor) September 17, 2021 This one is not a one-off incident, as in July, Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri’s had requested Prithvi Shaw and Devdutt Padikkal as injury replacements ahead of the England Test series but their demand was declined by the Chetan Sharma-led panel.
All these instances are enough to prove that Kohli, who once enjoyed absolute powers over matters like team selection, wasn’t happy with the higher authorities making him fight over issues like this. He could sense that the tide was shifting and there was a genuine effort to show him the exit door.
The fans, however, think that it was all done because of .’s increasing influence in Indian cricket and it was due to their constant pressure that Kohli had to give up his T20 captaincy.

    — (@beccasmayor) September 17, 2021 By dropping the bombshell on Thursday evening, Kohli hoped that it would help him secure his ODI captaincy, at least till 2023 ODI World Cup, but only time will tell if his move was a success or a complete disaster.

Abhay Deol has often spoken about several matters in Bollywood explicitly. The actor seems calm in real life and portrays the same sense even in his movies. The storylines he chooses are pretty underrated and he often takes up projects that don't have too much melodrama.
Even though the actor belongs to the Deol family, he still stands out amongst all his siblings. He ventured into Bollywood with Socha Na Tha, and the sweet coming-of-age movie amassed a lot of appreciation as well.

Abhay Deol  gave several movies in Bollywood post the success of his first project. He also ventured into OTT platforms in recent years. He was recently seen in Disney Channel's very first movie with a South Asian protagonist.

The 45-year-old talented star gave his honest view on the film industry and said that he gained recognition over time and does not follow every Bollywood celebrities' typical route.
    © Instagram/Abhay Deol
Speaking to a leading daily, he said that he does not think he is known as an actor. He further added "People recognise me, they tell me they love my work. I don’t feel the lack of recognition at all.”

    © Instagram/Abhay Deol
He also spoke about what differentiates him from the other actors and said that it's the 'lack of investing in PR machinery.'

Abhay also said that he was never interested in being in the news and projecting a star image. He also added that since he does not have PR machinery, he lacks the star image. Therefore, not having a PR team is a choice he made.
"People want to interview me, I get interviewed. People recognise me, they tell me they love my work. I don't feel the lack of recognition at all. If there is any lack of, it's the lack of investing in a PR machinery to keep me in the news all the time, and project a star image, which I was never interested in. So I do lack that star image, which I myself have to feed. Because all the stars have a PR machinery behind them that feeds into that narrative. I don't have that, and that's by choice."
    © Instagram/Abhay Deol
He also spoke about the difference between actors in the US and India. He said, "It’s sad that in India particularly, more so than in America, you just have to constantly feed the beast and stay in the news.”

He still continues to take up projects and scripts that strike a chord with him and does deny roles that do not match his tastes. Hence, he added, 'if that's not success I don't know what is.'
Abhay also said that an actor earns recognition only after he is endorsing brands every other day in India.
But I cannot sit here and say that I am not recognised… People love my work and they tell me that all the time. It's sad that in India particularly, more so than in America, you just have to constantly feed the beast and stay in the news. We've created a system where, unless I see you every other day endorsing 10 brands, you're not recognised. What happened to just the fact that people love you and say that they do, and that journalists want to speak to you and papers are interested in what you have to say?

In the recent movie Spin, Abhay has essayed the character of a father to a 16-year-old teenage girl, an Indian-American actor, Avantika Vandanapu.

Food delivery executive Akash Waghmare lost around Rs 10 lakh on Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 after failing to answer a question for Rs 25 lakh on the show. The host Amitabh Bachchan also advised him to quit and take the money but he took the risk.

Akash used all of his lifelines, two of which he used upon the Rs 12.5 lakh question, and hit a stumbling block.
The question asked for Rs 25 lakh was: “The spacecraft 'Hope' became the first probe from the Middle East to enter the orbit of Mars. Which country's mission was Hope?” Akash's options were: “Iran, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.”
He chose Saudi Arabia whereas the correct answer was UAE.

Amitabh Bachchan also fulfilled Akash’s wish to have food delivered to him one day. He said, "Inki iccha hai ki kaash ek din aisa bhi aaye ki koi delivery personnel inke ghar unka manpasand bhojan jo hai woh deliver karne aaye. Isliye aaj bhaisahab main aapko batana chahta hoon ki ek delivery personnel inke liye yeh kaam karega. Aaj ka dinner inhe deliver karenge (He wishes that someday, he might be able to order food for himself. So I want to tell you that a delivery person will do this for him today. I will deliver his dinner today)."

He further added, "Bhaisahab, hum hai delivery personnel aur aaj ka bhojan yeh raha aapke liye (I am the delivery personnel and this is your meal for today)."
Receiving the package, Akash said, "Sir dhanya ho gaye hum (Sir, I am ever grateful)."

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was recently included in a 15-member committee created by the Defence Ministry in order to review the National Cadet Corps with the hopes of making the organisation more relevant based on the modern-day requirements of the Indian Army.
As the news broke on Thursday, the fans of ‘Captain Cool’ were overjoyed with the fact that someone as beloved and influential as him was given the responsibility to look after the young prospects of our soldiers.

After Virat Kohli announced his decision to resign from the position of the Indian cricket captain in the T20I format of the game following the T20 World Cup 2021, former player, Sandeep Patil has shown his concerns about the communication gap between Kohli and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the announcement.
    pic.twitter.com/Ds7okjhj9J
    — Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) September 16, 2021
Just a day before Kohli broke the news via his Instagram account, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal had rubbished these reports when he said: “This is all rubbish. Nothing (as) such is happening. This is all what you guys (media) are talking about. BCCI has not met or discussed anything on this issue (split captaincy). Virat will remain as the captain (of all formats).”
Even BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had downplayed the rumours and media reports suggesting: “There is no such proposal and the team is led by Virat and we are backing him.”
NEWS : Virat Kohli to step down as T20I captain after World Cup. #TeamIndia

    — BCCI (@BCCI) September 16, 2021
After it was made evident that both Shah and Dhumal were trying to cover up the news and magnificently failing to do so, Sandeep Patil has criticised the lack of synergy between the skipper and the Indian cricket board:
“It seems that there's a big communication gap between BCCI and Virat. You can't have Virat say one thing and the BCCI another. Just a couple of days back, there was a story in TOI about him quitting as a white-ball captain to focus on his batting. However, the BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal rubbished that news quickly. This is purely Virat's decision, and the BCCI should just accept it."
Now that the cat’s out of the bag, the official statement given by Jay Shah on the BCCI website suggests that event of Kohli stepping down from captaincy wasn’t just imminent but also being discussed for almost half a year.
Jay Shah (BCCI web): I have been in discussions with Virat and the leadership team for the last six months and the decision has been thought through. Virat will continue to contribute as a player and as a senior member of the side in shaping the future course of Indian cricket.

Apple announced the latest iPhone 13 series earlier this week and now the benchmark results for the new smartphone are out. The new iPhone is powered by Apple’s latest silicon i.e. the A15 Bionic chipset that is said to be faster than any other mobile SoC in the market. The A15 Bionic chipset is Apple’s latest 5nm SoC with 15 billion transistors where it is powered by 2 high performance and 4 efficiency cores.
The top Android flagship smartphones of the year such as the ASUS ROG 5 scored 1112 (single-core) and 3703 (multi-core) in a simple Geekbench 5 test. The ASUS ROG 5 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC which is currently the chipset most Android flagship smartphones use.
    © Twitter/Ice Universe
Now, the Geekbench 5 results for the iPhone 13 have surfaced online and it shows how powerful the new chipset really is. According to the results shared by IceUniverse, the iPhone 13’s A15 Bionic chipset scored 1734 (single-core) and 4818 (multi-core) on Geekbench 5. That’s considerably higher than any Android flagship smartphone that has launched this year. Apple promised a 30% performance and graphics improvement over its competition and it seems like the results back the company’s claims.

    © Apple
This does not come as a surprise though as Apple’s chipsets have been beating the best SoCs from the likes of Samsung and Qualcomm. Even last year, the iPhone 12 beat every Android device in benchmarks and performance by a huge margin and it seems the case remains the same with the iPhone 13 as well.

It’s also worth pointing out that Apple has not increased the onboard RAM on the iPhone 13 and it continues to be powered by 4GB of RAM. The iPhone 13 Pro gets a slight bump though as it currently has 6GB of RAM.
Apple tends to have faster and more efficient performing smartphones than its competition simply because of the software optimisations the company does. It’s no secret that Apple develops its silicon keeping iOS in mindand  that results in the most powerful and efficient smartphone of the year. Having said that, performance could be different in the real world and we can't wait to see how the iPhone 13 performs in real life.

No one is a stranger to the fact that as much as Bollywood film industry entertains us, it is a place where work opportunities are seldom given to outsiders due to the culture of nepotism. Be it a producer, actor, or filmmaker, everyone likes pushing forward their own family members in the industry, often coming at the cost of millions of struggling actors failing to make the cut just because they don't belong to the industry.
    © Star World
While we already knew that star kids have been known to be cast in projects, it is now revealed that the luxury is also afforded to girlfriends of the people in the industry. This is according to Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat, who says that even she lost out her place because of the director casting his girlfriend instead of her.

    © Netflix
Malika starred in the 2007 Anees Bazmee film Welcome that had an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, and Paresh Rawal. Without a shadow of a doubt, the film was a laughter fest and went on to become a classic Bollywood comedy that has a cult fan following.

Mallika was integral to the success of the film due to her role in the film, however, despite the success of the film, she ended up not being cast in the sequel Welcome Back. Why? Because she was replaced by the director's girlfriend.
She said, "Welcome ka sequel Banega toh director apni girlfriend ko hi dalega na usmein. Welcome 2 bana toh usmein apni girlfriend ko daal diya batao, ab main kya karun (If a sequel of Welcome will be made, then the director will only cast his girlfriend. When Welcome 2 was made, he cast his girlfriend in the film. What can I do about it)?"
"This is true. When they make a sequel, they cast their girlfriend, the hero casts his girlfriend, what do I do then? I don't have any boyfriend in Bollywood, I have never been with any actor, director, or producer. With me like this is my work, if you think I am worthy of your project I would love to be a part of it. But if a director or a producer or an actor - if they want to cast their girlfriends then it's their choice. What should I do? That is the only reason I lost out (on Welcome Back)." said Mallika.
The 2015 film featured some of the old cast of Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, and Paresh Rawal while adding some new faces like John Abraham , Shruti Haasan, Shiney Ahuja, Ankita Shrivastava, Dimple Kapadia, and Naseeruddin Shah.
    © Prime Video
However, despite that, the film failed to live up to the standards set by the first film.

Mallika who is best known for films like Murder, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Darna Zaroori Hai, and Double Dhamaal, was last seen in the web series Nakaab. Whatever happens, it looks like she won't be starring in the Welcome series anymore, with reports suggesting that Welcome 3 and Welcome 4 will have John, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Nana Patekar on board again.

Ryan Reynolds new project, Free Guy, has created a lot of buzz globally and is also set to hit the theatres in India on September 17th. This movie has a surprising element, which Ryan recently shared with the audience.
As for the film Free Guy, it's a 2021 fiction action comedy movie in which a bank teller discovers that he is actually a non-player character in a video game and becomes a hero of the story when he saves his friends from elimination by the game maker.

    © Instagram/Ryan Reynolds
Ahead of its release in India, Ryan made a video and bemused his Indian fans by saying that his movie is inspired by Bollywood.

The video on YouTube has Ryan describing the film to his audience. He says, “My movie Free Guy has got a guy named 'Guy' who's quite the Romeo, a girl who is out of his league."
He said this in reference to Ryan and Jodie Comer playing a crucial role on screen. He also added, "A crazy villain, some insane action and, of course, dancing,”
He further introduced Taika Waititi as the baddie. He also spoke about buildings collapsing in the background with a few characters dancing randomly in the middle of the road. All this usually happens in a Bollywood movie. It does sound familiar, doesn't it?
    Check out the video here.

He finally concluded the video by saying, "If you’re wondering whether Hollywood is just mimicking Bollywood...Well, the answer is yes. We have no shame, no shame at all."

Even back in 2019, as Ryan spoke to Hindustan Times, he said that he enjoys Indian culture and cinema and is a huge fan. He said, "Oh my god. I do love Indian culture and films. I think there is no greater contribution to cinema than from India. When I was a kid, I got to see a couple of (movies) from India. I would love to visit India and meet my fans."

Ryan has often spoken to Bollywood actors too. He once had a Twitter exchange with Ranveer Singh when he dubbed the Hindi version of Deadpool.

He wrote, "Astonishing how effectively I’ve managed to out-crass my Canadian counterpart @VancityReynolds. Never realised how fulfilling & rewarding foul Hindi language can be!”
To this, Ryan retweeted and wrote, "Well if I tried to curse in Hindi, pretty sure there would be an international incident.”

As per a report in India Today, the Mumbai crime branch, on Wednesday, filed a charge sheet in the porn racket case naming Raj Kundra, the IT head of his firm Ryan Thorpe, two other accused, Yash Thakur alias Arvind Shrivastava, a resident of Singapore, and Kundra’s brother-in-law, identified as Pardeep Bakshi, a resident of London.
Shilpa Shetty’s remark on the fiasco is a part of the charge sheet and it hasn’t gone down too well with social media users. According to India Today, Shilpa had asked Raj Kundra about it. In response, he'd said that the OTT platform was doing well and he was making good profits.

"I have come to know today that the HotShots app was created through Viaan industries and porn videos made through it were sold by Pardeep Bakshi to his firm Kenrin. I am busy with my own work and I don't ask my husband what he does and he doesn't tell me anything about his work. I don't know anything about all this," Shilpa Shetty told the Mumbai Crime Branch officials.
Now, people are bashing her since the remark hasn't gone down too well with people.
Here’s how people reacted to her statements:

Recently, Shilpa had visited the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu's Katra, amid the ongoing pornography scandal of her husband. She took to Instagram to share glimpses of her trip and people didn't spare the opportunity to troll her in this regard too.

We wonder if this hate directed towards her is really called for and how she would tackle it.

Virat Kohli’s decision to relinquish his T20I captaincy after the 2021 T20 World Cup has taken the whole cricketing world by surprise. However, the explanation that he gave for making such a big decision is self-contradictory in so many ways.
Firstly, India, on an average, don’t play more than 10 Twenty20 Internationals in a calendar year and giving up T20I captaincy for managing workload looks more of an excuse than a sincere effort to solve this issue.

Secondly, despite giving up the leadership role, Kohli will continue to play T20Is as a specialist batsman, meaning he will not get any time away from cricket. And you don’t need to be an expert to understand that limiting the game time is the only way to manage a player’s workload.

Apart from playing for India, Kohli also plays at least 14 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, that too in a less than two months time. Leading an IPL franchise is way more exhausting than captaining India in the shortest format. The fact that he will continue to lead RCB, makes us wonder how he would manage his workload.

All these above reasons suggest there was much more to the story than meets the eye. And if reports are true, this decision was a result of the ongoing power-game between Kohli and the BCCI officials.

As per a PTI report, Kohli had proposed that Rohit Sharma be removed from his role of vice-captain in the white-ball cricket and put forward KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant’s name to take his place in ODIs and T20Is, respectively.

He had argued that Rohit, who turned 34 this year, wasn’t getting any younger and it was important to start grooming youngsters in the leadership role to ensure a smooth transition.

The proposal obviously didn’t go down well with the selection committee, who viewed Rohit as an ideal candidate to take Kohli’s place as the captain of the Indian team, in the shorter formats.

“This didn't go down well with the Board which believes that Kohli doesn't want an actual successor,” news agency PTI quoted a BCCI source as saying.

Yeah something is seriously wrong here
    — Mr. A (@Cricdrugss) September 16, 2021Even if 5-10% truth in this article then nothing bad than this for Indian cricket. The reason is also can't completely disagree that some of things are true ,but its too much hatred towards individual like virat what we saw on the field ,off the field he can't be this bad.

    — Arunabh Maurya (@arunabhmaurya28) September 16, 2021The reason behind Kohli’s decision is still unknown but it is crystal clear that the excuse of “workload management” is nothing but an effort to divert our attention from other important issues that are currently going on in the inner echelons of Indian cricket.
