Ryan Reynolds new project, Free Guy, has created a lot of buzz globally and is also set to hit the theatres in India on September 17th. This movie has a surprising element, which Ryan recently shared with the audience. 

As for the film Free Guy, it's a 2021 fiction action comedy movie in which a bank teller discovers that he is actually a non-player character in a video game and becomes a hero of the story when he saves his friends from elimination by the game maker.

Ahead of its release in India, Ryan made a video and bemused his Indian fans by saying that his movie is inspired by Bollywood. 

The video on YouTube has Ryan describing the film to his audience. He says, “My movie Free Guy has got a guy named 'Guy' who's quite the Romeo, a girl who is out of his league."

He said this in reference to Ryan and Jodie Comer playing a crucial role on screen. He also added, "A crazy villain, some insane action and, of course, dancing,” 

He further introduced Taika Waititi as the baddie. He also spoke about buildings collapsing in the background with a few characters dancing randomly in the middle of the road. All this usually happens in a Bollywood movie. It does sound familiar, doesn't it?

He finally concluded the video by saying, "If you’re wondering whether Hollywood is just mimicking Bollywood...Well, the answer is yes. We have no shame, no shame at all."

Even back in 2019, as Ryan spoke to Hindustan Times, he said that he enjoys Indian culture and cinema and is a huge fan. He said, "Oh my god. I do love Indian culture and films. I think there is no greater contribution to cinema than from India. When I was a kid, I got to see a couple of (movies) from India. I would love to visit India and meet my fans."

Ryan has often spoken to Bollywood actors too. He once had a Twitter exchange with Ranveer Singh when he dubbed the Hindi version of Deadpool. 

He wrote, "Astonishing how effectively I’ve managed to out-crass my Canadian counterpart @VancityReynolds. Never realised how fulfilling & rewarding foul Hindi language can be!”

To this, Ryan retweeted and wrote, "Well if I tried to curse in Hindi, pretty sure there would be an international incident.”
