5 Most ‘Shaatir’ Con Movies Ever Made In Bollywood

If there’s anything that is remotely better in the 2000s than in the 90s (I said remotely), it is Bollywood and its movies. That era was golden for Hindi cinema and 90s kids will agree that films in that decade were class apart.

Whether it was romcoms like Kal Ho Na Ho or comedy horror like Bhool Bhulaiyya, Bollywood experimented with stories and concepts a lot. It was also the time when it produced a number of con movies (a genre we didn’t know we needed), and they are brilliantly ‘shaatir’.

Since the trailer of Bunty Aur Babli 2 released a few days ago, the nostalgia-struck fans can’t help but wonder two things. First, why is Abhishek Bachchan not in the film? And the other is why has Bollywood stopped making amazing and intelligent con movies after 2010?

From the directors of Khosla Ka Ghosla, this is also one masterpiece that is quite underrated in the con movies bandwagon. Based on a real-life thief ‘super chor’ Devinder Singh aka Bunty from Delhi, Abhay Doel portrays Lucky who robs for fun.

4. Dhoom Series

While the third installment starring Aamir Khan was not up to the mark, the previous two parts starring John Abraham and Hritik Roshan are pure classics. Especially Dhoom 2, where a perfectionist thief disguises and steals the rare artifacts and leaves a signature ‘A’ in the crime scene.

5. Badmaash Company

Four youngsters make a ‘big plan’ to grow richer by pulling off heists after heists. They smuggle branded fashion items like shoes and dupe customers. Although it didn’t do well at the box office at the time of the release, the clever construction and
