There have been days when I have wondered to myself, what it would really be like to be a celebrity. 

The fame, the money, the luxury, everything is too enticing to not at least wonder. And while that star status is seductive and lucrative in its own way, it comes at a cost. 

Being in the limelight also means being in the direct sight of trolls who will come at you for anything and everything that you do, just like with actress Sara Ali Khan who is being brutally trolled right now for visiting a temple.

The Simmba actress, who made her debut in the Bollywood industry in 2018 with the hit film Kedarnath alongside late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, made a trip to the pilgrimage centre recently with her good friend Janhvi Kapoor.

The two actresses had been posting snaps of sipping chai in the small town of Kedarnath and also made their way to the famous temple, considering it holds a special place in the actress’s heart. 

However, a simple and devoted visit to the temple was taken completely out of context by trolls who made the entire debacle about religion and shallow-mindedness.

Within hours, pictures of Sara  and Janhvi visiting the Kedarnath Temple went viral, and as did horrible and insensitive tweets that called her out for ‘bringing disgrace to Muslims’ by her visit.

The actress posted her picture with a caption that read, “Back to where it all began. #JaiBholenath #grateful #blessed,” and several people, including some from the Muslim community, thrashed her online for several reasons, some by even calling her visit to a temple and praying to the shrine as a ‘sin of idolatry’.

At the same time, several fans of Sara Ali Khan have also come together to give it right back to the trolls in the comment section by having the young actress’s back.

And this isn’t the first time trolls have attacked celebrities for their personal choices either, as there have been times when actor Shah Rukh Khan or even former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif found themselves under the fire for no apparent reason other than ticking a few closed-minded people off.
