Katrina Kaif started from the bottom and made her own mark in the Bollywood industry. While her journey is a map of ups and downs, she currently enjoys a solid place in terms of her work and credibility and is one of the highest paid actresses of Bollywood. When a movie becomes a major hit, it is hard to imagine that someone else might have been offered that role. Well, turns out, there have been moments in Katrina’s life when she had to reject a few movies due to various reasons and here are four films that were rejected by her, but became big hits after Deepika Padukone starred in them:

1. Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani

This is one iconic movie and what DDLJ  means to the 90s kids, this movie holds a similar charm for every millennial. One can only imagine the real life chemistry of Ranbir and Katrina which would have translated into reel chemistry if she worked on this project. Reports claim that dates were an issue. Needless to say, Bunny and Naina are carved as Ranbir and Deepika for every YJHD fan.

2. Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela

It would have been quite a pairing to see Katrina in her rustic ‘avatar’ for this adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet set in rural Gujarat. However, while some reports claim that Katrina had no dates, others claim that she wasn’t too keen with the age gap and the script. Don’t know what is true, but Deepika and Ranveer’s chemistry was on fire with this one.

3. Chennai Express

Another mega hit for Deepika but Katrina’s reasons were supposedly legitimate in terms of rejecting this big budget movie. The lead character of the female protagonist is supposed to be a South Indian and Katrina reportedly had issues with the dialect and tonality. She however obviously went on to do Jab Tak Hai Jaan opposite SRK.

4. Bajirao Mastani

We all know that ‘Bajirao ne Mastani se mohabbat ki hai’, and cannot fathom anyone playing the role except Deepika Padukone but it's true that reportedly Katrina was offered the role before it went on to Deepika. Rest , as they say, is history.
