We have written a lot about Movember. But we haven't really given you hard stats about it - yet. So without further ado, we share a few facts with you about Movember. We hope it will motivate you to participate in it as well and you don't need to go far to look for inspiration. We have an entire section on grooming to get you started.

1. Movember began in Australia in 2003 with the participation of about 30 people.

2. When it began, Movember didn't even have a website to promote itself!

3. Today, the hub of Movember is situated in a former dance studio in Los Angeles, California.

4. Movember moustaches can be used for fundraising causes like prostate cancer, testicular cancer and even mental health.

5. Only in the year 2020, the Movember Foundation raised $121.7 million from campaigns globally.

6. The charity launched 'The Moscars' in 2010 - an online global user-submitted video contest that helps Movember participants showcase their involvement in the movement.

7. There is something known as a 'Mo Bro'. Mo Bros are men who the Movember Foundation involves in the movement, aiming to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths.

8. Women are also encouraged to participate in Movember. They are called Mo Sistas.

9. Some of the most popular moustaches include Tom Selleck's look, the handlebar, the 1800s bartender and curled-stache.

10. The Movember Foundation Board claims to be the biggest non-governmental investor in men's health programmes on Earth.
