Ranveer Singh-starrer biographical drama 83, directed by Kabir Khan, is ready to hit the big screens on Friday (24 December). Based on the Indian Cricketer Team's 1983 World Cup win, the film will see Ranveer essaying the role of former cricketer and Indian captain Kapil Dev. Last night, the star-studded premiere of 83 was held in Mumbai which was attended by various celebs and cricketers who were a part of the 1983 team.

A video from the premiere is doing the rounds on social media in which the veteran cricketer is seen hugging the actor.

View this post on InstagramTalking further about the film, 83 also features Deepika Padukone in the role of Kapil Dev's wife Romi Bhatia. Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk, Harrdy Sandhu among others are also playing crucial roles in the biopic.
Originally, 83 was scheduled to release in 2020, however, got delayed amid the COVID-19 pandemic and is now releasing during the Christmas weekend.
