Ishaan Khatter might have roots in the Bollywood as he is Shahid Kapoor’s brother and he is also a star kid but he didn’t do things the conventional way. He didn’t go for a starry debut but opted for a rather unconventional movie which was way intense for a newbie. He made a strong debut with a Majid Majidi directorial, Beyond The Clouds (2017). 

Playing a slum boy who’s a drug dealer was a risk but he was convinced to start this journey by taking a tougher road. Ishaan proved his mettle with a matured and nuanced performance and with his skills, he promised the viewers to see a better version of him with every character that he picks up. 

He was a lanky boy when he started his career but no one had a clue that this was to change in the future. 

His first commercial success came in the form of Shashank Khaitan’s directorial Dhadak (2018) that also gave a launchpad to Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor and he once again proved that he can do all sorts of characters. 

His next project was Khaali Peeli (2020) opposite Ananya Panday. Playing the role of a typical Mumbaiya taxi driver, Ishaan didn’t disappoint his fans but the movie failed to impress the audience. Well, it didn’t take away the fact that he is a promising actor. 

In the same year, we got to see him in acclaimed filmmaker Mira Nair’s A Suitable Boy. He proved that he is not a shadow of his brother Shahid as he has his own way of expressing emotions on the big screen. As I have met him, I can vouch for the fact that he is very well-read and has a deep understanding of world cinema. 

In an interview with HuffPost, he was asked that film kids do get more opportunities more than outsiders. On this, he had said, “Everybody has their own journey. As for opportunities, two of the greatest actors ever, Marlon Brando and Dilip Kumar, didn't even want to be actors. Whereas there are many who feel very intensely about acting but they don't get anywhere. So it's not right to club people in the same bracket without having seen their work or fully understanding the context that they live in. There are many actors who come from a family of lineage, with a lot of expectations but end up nowhere.” 

Cut to December 2021, he stunned us with his new transformation pictures and our jaws dropped after his bulked-up body. His chiseled body and perfect abs made us wonder if he is prepping for his next movie Pippa as he mentioned in one of the interviews that viewers will get to see a new ‘Ishaan’.

Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Pippa is based on the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 and tells the story of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. The upcoming film also stars Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Soni Razdan. 

We are excited to see him on the screens once again as it’s delightful to watch him perform with maturity.
