The popularity of Allu Arjun’s latest blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise has broken records not only in India but also worldwide, as fans are showering love on the movie. 

And now, it seems the craze of Pushpa has taken over the cricket fraternity as well. 

The likes of Suresh Raina, Hardik Pandya have grooved to the famous track – 'Srivalli' – from the movie while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had shared a photo of him, recreating Allu Arjun’s Pushpa look.

Australian cricketer, David Warner had also posted a snippet from the movie in which he swapped his face with Allu Arjun.

The Pushpa trend has also taken over the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) where many cricketers have performed the ‘Srivalli hook step’ while celebrating a wicket. 

Nazmul Islam from Bangladesh started the trend in BPL and soon, West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who enjoys a huge fan following in India thanks to his participation in the Indian Premier League, too enacted Allu Arjun’s step after a dismissal. 

The recent entrant in the list of players who have tried Allu Arjun’s hook step is former Bangladesh skipper and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. 

Shakib, playing for the Fortune Barishal, picked up the wicket of Faf du Plessis in the sixth over of the match and then recreated Allu Arjun’s trademark move from the movie in which the actor runs his hand across his chin. 

After seeing Shakib perform the move, fans labelled BPL as ‘Bangladesh Pushpa League’.

Coming to the match, there was not much to celebrate for Shakib’s team as Fortune Barishal suffered a huge 63-run defeat against Comilla Victorians.

Shakib’s own performance with the ball was fine as he picked up two wickets and gave away just 25 runs in his quota of four overs but with the bat, chasing a target of 159, he failed to save his team the blushes as they were bowled out for 95 in the 18th over. 

Shakib scored just one run after facing four balls.
