I like to think of myself as a nice, decent and hard-working employee. But obviously, my boss sometimes has conflicting opinions from time to time. In fact, even on days that he does agree with me and lauds me for my work ethic, the furthest he’s come to expressing his gratitude is by saying ‘not bad’. 

On the other hand, in Kerala, a businessman who treated an employee like a partner for serving his company for 22 long years, showed his gratitude towards his loyalty with a brand new Mercedes Benz.

AK Shaji, the owner of digital retail store MyG, is clearly an ideal boss to have, because the idea of retaining an employee for him isn’t limited to a mere bonus, but by making a grand and shiny gesture.

CR Anish, who has been working with businessman Shaji for the last 22 years, was ecstatic and received one of the biggest surprises of his life as Shaji bought him a Mercedes-Benz GLA Class 220 d.  

He wrote, “Dear Ani... For the last 22 years, you are there for me as a strong pillar. Hope you loved your new cruising partner.” 

Shaji went on to further share on his Instagram how, “We are partners, he is not an employee. I am very happy. It is a proud moment. Ani has been with me for the last 22 years. Let’s hope we can give more cars to our partners this year.” 

Shaji gave this surprise to Anish at a company event for MyG employees and their families, where he presented the black luxury SUV to Anish and his family. Anish had been working closely and for more than two decades beside Shaji.  

He was involved in the marketing, maintenance and development units of the company and was truly a pillar that contributed to the company’s success over the years.

And what is even more surprising is that this wasn’t the first time Shaji gifted an employee a car.  

Turns out, two years ago, Shaji gave 6 of his hardworking employees a car each. Talk about having the best boss ever!
