Kangana Hits Backs After Payal Rohatgi Accuses Her Of Using Alia's Name For Publicity

Kangana Ranaut’s first reality show as a host titled Lock Upp started streaming online on February 27.

Based on a similar theme as Bigg Boss, Lock Upp features 16 controversial contestants and one of them is actress Payal Rohatgi.

During the opening episode of the reality show, Payal Rohatgi got into a verbal spat with the host Kangana Ranaut as she accused the Panga actress of using Bollywood star Alia Bhatt’s name for publicity.

It so happened that Payal was asked why she decided to work with Ekta Kapoor, the producer of the show after publicly dissing her and her OTT platform Alt Balaji.

Payal replied that even Kangana had a difference of opinion with Ekta but now the two are working together. Kangana had a sharp response to Payal’s example as she replied, “Do not piggyback on me. Talk about your own experiences, do not use my past experiences. Do not take my name.”

Clarifying that she named Kangana because she was sitting in front of her, Payal added, “I would have named someone else if you were not present here.”

The argument continued as Kangana said, “So, you would still talk of someone else's experiences. You are still not saying that you would talk about your own experiences. You just proved my allegations right.”

It was at this moment that Payal accused Kangana of using Alia Bhatt’s name and her latest release Gangubai Kathiawadi to grab attention.

She said, “Why then do you use others' names? I can also say that you piggyback on Alia Bhatt's name and (are using) Gangubai Kathiwadi for the sake of grabbing attention.”

The two went on to argue for quite some time as Kangana responded, “Do not talk about me, I create my own controversies, that is my opinion about them.”

A few days back, Kangana had taken to Instagram and slammed Alia Bhatt and her film Gangubai Kathiawadi. She had called Alia a “rom com bimbo” and “papa ki pari” and had further stated that Rs 200 crore will be burnt to ashes once the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial releases in theatres on February 25.

Meanwhile, Gangubai Kathiawadi is enjoying a good run at the box office and Alia has received rave reviews for her performance.
