Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, is among the most-awaited films of 2022. While its shoot got delayed several times amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the makers announced its new release date along with a motion poster last year.

Brahmastra is now scheduled to hit the theatres on September 9, later this year, however, the recent reports suggested that the much-hyped movie is still not completed and a little patchwork is pending. 

For the unversed, the sci-fi film went on floors in February 2018 and is set to enter its fifth year of filming. Interestingly, since February 2018, Akshay Kumar has completed several films. The superstar, who finishes 3-4 films in a year, began and finished as many as 12 films since the time Brahmastra hit the floors. Yes, you read that right!

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, those movies are Mission Mangal, Housefull 4, Good Newwz, Laxmii, Sooryavanshi, Bellbottom, Atrangi Re, Bachchan Pandey, Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, and OMG 2.

The actor completed 12 films even after the shoots were halted for a few months due to COVID-19. Also, in between, he was hospitalised after testing positive for the deadly virus. 

Not just Akshay, even Ajay Devgn finished 9 films - De De Pyaar De, Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior, Sooryavanshi, Bhuj – The Pride Of India, Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, Runway 34, Maidaan, and Thank God. In between, he also shot for his debut web series Rudra for Disney+Hotstar. It is to be noted that the superstar had/has cameos in Sooryavanshi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and RRR.

Coming back to Brahmastra, the superhero film is jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and Dharma Productions. Earlier, it was scheduled to hit the big screens on December 4, 2020. However, it got postponed due to the pandemic. The fantasy trilogy will be released in five languages. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy too will be seen playing pivotal roles in Brahmastra.
