Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is excited for the release of his next film, Bachchhan Paandey. Last seen in Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re, the actor is currently busy promoting the much-awaited film co-starring Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, and Jacqueline Fernandez.

While the movie is all set to hit the theatres on March 18, SS Rajamouli's RRR too is slated to release a week after Bachchhan Paandey, on March 25. 

Just like Bachchhan Paandey, Ram Charan and Jr NTR-starrer too is among the biggest releases of 2022 and is expected to take the box office by storm. Talking about the pan-India film in a recent interview, Akshay answered if Rajamouli's directorial venture is going to affect the business of his film. 

The actor shared that RRR might affect Bachchhan Paandey by 30 to 40 percent and it is unfortunate. He added that the industry has to deal with it since various big films are releasing back-to-back now, because of the pandemic. 

In a conversation with News18, the superstar said, "See, because of this pandemic, lots of movies are going to come one on top of the other. To say at the moment impact, yes it obviously, it is going to impact. Every movie is going to impact each other. Everything, the businesses are going to go down by 30 to 40 percent. It is a very unfortunate thing but you have to deal with it".

According to Akshay, films were impacted even while theatres were operating at 50% occupancy but the industry managed to survive. He is expecting the same this time as well.  

"You have to understand, just like how we understood the fact that when we opened the theatres with 50 percent occupancy, it was an impact on the film, but you have to go with it. Still, my industry survived and we went ahead with it. So yes, to come back to the normalcy, it will take another year or more than a year probably," he added. 

For the unversed, the advance bookings of Bachchhan Paandey have already begun and the film is expected to do well at the box office. Currently, Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files is having a dream run and it'll be interesting to see if it'll give a tough competition to Bachchhan Paandey or not.
