Though the movie did not do so well at the Box Office, it did receive many positive reviews from the critics. But, that happened in 2007, when John was still a newbie in the industry. Now, that he's gotten older and improved his acting skills, he prefers working on scripts that suit his persona.

So, the Bollywood hunk has just now finished the shoot for his much-awaited movie “Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran”. Parmanu is all set to be released on 8 December 2017.  Let's recall a little history here, Parmanu is based on Pokhran-II, where a series of five nuclear bomb test explosions were conducted in the Rajasthan (in the Thar Desert) in the year 1998.  The film also stars Diana Penty and Boman Irani.

So this is what John had to say in a press interview:

"It's a true story and a fantastic script. This film will be produced by me. I think nobody understands football the way I do (in the film industry). You can call me narcissist on this, but that is the truth. I'm passionate about the game and I'm learning it every day."

“‘Parmanu's' shooting has finished and now I will concentrate on the script of this film."

He also clarified that the film would not be about North East, but he would like to include the region in it.

FYI, John also owns an Indian professional football franchise in NorthEast United FC. And, that simply shows his attachment to football as a sport.

So are you ready for a thrilling sports film? We sure are!
