While discussing his time with the Indian cricket team during an event, Irfan Pathan shared an incident which took place in Lahore. A girl approached him and asked him why he’s still playing for India even though he’s a Muslim and this is what he said:
“It is a matter of pride for me to play for India. That incident still motivates me to do better. Although there are many moments during my career that do give me reasons to feel proud of my effort.”

Irfan, who made his debut under Sourav Ganguly in 2003, was one of the best swing bowlers India ever produced until he was sidelined with injuries which eventually affected his ability to generate movement across the pitch. He has played 120 ODIs for India and still recounts getting the debut cap from skipper Ganguly as the most memorable moment of his career.
