Cricket as a sport has been mere witness to some of the craziest incidents on the field. If you Google funny cricket videos, the results page will surely throw back strange and weird incidents in the world of professional cricket.
But, what transpired in a Sheffield Shield match in Alice Springs, Australia was so bizarre that you've probably not seen anything like that before.
We all are well versed with the frailties of tail-enders with the willow, so when Victoria's no. 11 Fawad Ahmed came out to bat in the middle, not much was really expected of him. But, even before he could take guard, the Pakistan-born Australian cricketer had created an immediate impact.March 9, 2017
Hoping to score some important runs for his side, Fawad walked out in the middle without the most important equipment - a cricket bat. Wait, what?
The 35-year-old had forgotten to carry his bat while walking onto the field. The video shows the cricketer, in a confident manner, coming out to bat and putting on his batting gloves.
But, then he suddenly realises that he has in-fact forgotten to bring his cricket bat with him. Realising a rare mistake, Fawad quickly turns back to the dressing room before one of his teammates hands him his bat.
The incident left the Western Australian players in splits as they couldn't stop laughing on the field. Once he remembered his blade, Fawad hardly needed to use it, failing to score a run off seven balls.
Well, Fawad's goof-up is an incident that will undoubtedly be added to the reel of ever-increasing funny cricket videos.
