Akshay Kumar Wins National Award For Best Actor For Rustom Proving Hes Still The Best Out There

Akshay Kumar is the original khiladi of Bollywood and he’ll always be so. The actor has won the National Award for the best actor for his film ‘Rustom’. He just posted a video of himself expressing gratitude for the award.

#NationalFilmAwards : Best Actor for Rustom, countless emotions, very hard to express my gratitude right now but still tried,a big THANK YOU?? pic.twitter.com/Wo7mfi6dI8

Akshay did some amazing work last year, including ‘Airlift’, but still he wasn’t given a best actor nomination at the Filmfare Awards 2017. It’s a clear indication of the favouritism prevalent in the industry. But Akshay couldn’t care less for awards that are anyway bought; he won the national award and that’s a statement enough to silence the haters.

The witty Twinkle Khanna tweeted about her husband receiving the honour and like all his fans, her emotions were “all over the place’:

I don't know if I am crying or laughing-emotions all over the place-So proud of you @akshaykumar you smart, humble, amazing creature! https://t.co/K0YRx2WBtI

The film ‘Rustom’ was based on the real-life case of naval officer K.M. Nanavati whose court proceedings rocked an entire nation at that time. Akshay is one of the very few actors who give in their heart and soul to the role. The humble actor has time and again taken to social media to spread social messages.

Once a khiladi, always a khiladi.
