Prints on shirts are everywhere this season- stripes, checks, florals or even a camouflage; the number of variants are endless. And honestly, we thought we had them all covered! Until Shahid Kapoor cited that we were missing out on a goldmine of an Indian print — Ikat — that he's currently obsessing over a lot. 

Snapped on the sets of 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' with Shraddha Kapoor, Shahid lately, has been seen wearing colourful Ikat printed shirts and all we'd like to proclaim is, you must own a few pairs too.

Shooting in Uttarakhand, we snapped Shahid in an earthy version of an Ikat print shirt, paired with a blue plaid cut-sleeve jacket. He rolled up the sleeves neatly and styled them with a pair of jeans. We'd say, the beauty of earthy colours is that you can easily pair them with anything: light wash jeans, dark wash to even a pair of ripped jeans. Bring the outfit to a close with juttis/kolhapuris, for some desi street-style vibes.

In yet another earthy tone, Shahid was snapped along with his director and choreographer in a khaki green (with small white and yellow tones) ikat print shirt. And though, Kapoor's paired the shirt with an ethnic jacket, we'd say: this shirt can be worn under a brown suit (single-breasted or double), with solid-coloured trousers and a pair of brown half-brogues for a more corporate demeanor. Let your shirt be the hero!

Truth be told, this is the perfect version of an Ikat print for men who're not that tall. This variant of the print will lend a top to bottom view to your body, ensuring you're able to cast the illusion of an extended length. And though, we love how Shahid has topped his kurta with a blue shirt (with a quick overlap of a roll-up on the sleeves), one can easily replace it with a denim shirt, jeans (or even shorts in summer) and white sneakers. Perfect for a day out!

Just recently, Shahid wore a light blue and white Ikat print shirt with black jeans and a black Indian jacket. Notice how the shirt fits him perfectly (it's enhancing his biceps) and hence, we'd suggest you wear this for a date night. Don't the women love the guns, after all? Pair with white/black chinos and slip-ons to appear not-trying-too-hard.
