Like we didn't have enough troubles to pay attention to, we have another rather strange complaint doing the rounds and it doesn't even make sense. An advocate by the name of Mr. Ojha from Patna has filed a case against the film 'The Accidental Prime Minister', for promoting content that does not show several public figures in a good light, in the movie.

We're a bit confused though. The petitioner has clearly seen only the trailer, since the movie releases on the 11th of January, 2019. And after watching the trailer, he's made an abrupt case of public figures being lampooned in the movie. Our fair guess says he's trying to save the myriad questions that may arise post the movie launch, which will put our former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and his then media advisor Sanjaya Baru, in a lieu of unsettling thoughts, from the audience, since the movie is based on Manmohan Singh's tenure as the Prime Minister of India. Both the figures are played by Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna, respectively.

While we do sympathise with Mr. Ojha's concern, we think his retribution towards the screening of the movie is absolutely claimless and haphazard, since the movie in question isn't even out yet. And it could truly be showing the actual events that took place while Manmohan Singh was our Prime Minister. So, if he's really offended with the half-baked content that's being shown through the promos, then he certainly needs a little more perspective. Some would say he's trying to be pre-emptive in his approach to judge a situation. While I can seem to agree on that, I cannot let that take away the truest essence the movie is trying to bring out, through a phenomenal cast.

The petitioner has claimed to feel 'hurt' upon viewing the promos of the movie and about 14 members including Anupam Kher and Akhsaye Khanna have been named who're associated with the movie, in a Bihar court. The petition was filed under IPC sections 295, 153, 153A, 293, 504 and 120B, relating to promoting 'enmity' between different groups, sale of obscene objects, insult with intent to provoke breach of peace and criminal conspiracy.

While the sections are quite loaded and misdirecting based on just a trailer, we wish the petition doesn't pan out the way it's being planned to. Everything should have an equal say an voice and here's hoping the movie does exceptionally well.
